We are not perfect practitioners... we are learning and growing each day, and simply doing what we are able to in the present moment. One of the things I did was buy milk in glass jugs, only a few local stores do this, but the milk is minimally pasturized, and you can return the bottle for a small refund. Also the milk is vastly superior to the white water you get in the plastic jugs, doesn't even matter what brand.

I've started shopping at a low-waste grocery store. I've replaced about 25% of my shopping with going there. It is difficult because I'm chronically ill, so having a couple of freezer meals is somewhat essential because sometimes my body hurts and I just can't stand over a stove. But I'm doing what I can. Switching to oats and berries for breakfast has been a game-changer because I can always find those somewhere local + low-waste, I can stock up on my trips to the low waste store (just freeze excess berries in reusable containers), it's super easy to make even if I'm having a bad body day, and it's easy on my stomach! I've started the transition to low waste cleaners/housewares/soaps, and next step will be trying to get all my baking supplies low-waste.
No matter the topic, your videos relax and resonate with me. Always room to improve, especially with our beautiful planet. My husband and I are trying to reduce our meat consumption and buying reusable products like straws. Small steps but every day is a new opportunity to do better.

I live in an RV full time and began the transition to toxic free and low waste about three years ago.
In the bathroom we use shampoo bars (which actually work better on my long aging curls), natural bar soap, and homemade face wash. I buy natural essential oil face cream and pit paste that come in glass jars (just the right size to use for bulk spices and herbs afterwards), and clean with vinegar and baking soda.
As you know space is always a concern in an RV. I switched my old bulky terry towels (now rags) with Turkish organic cotton towels. It eliminated a full load of laundry a week and a lot of space saving in the bathroom. They dry quickly and can be used as a wrap or beach blanket too.
Laundry sheets and wool balls make it much easier to go to the laundry mat. I also carry clothes pins in case we land in a place that allows me to dry my clothes outside.
There are more things we’ve done but you get the idea. More to work on. Thanks for the nudge!!

I loved this video. My neighbour was a one-woman environmental disaster with the quantity of detergent she used every day just washing up. She's now changed and I sent her a dolphin card saying thank you. 😄 I try and avoid all plastics, especially for food and water. The chemicals they have taken out to meet regulations have just been replaced with different endocrine disruptors, glass is better. All the local stores here in the UK have a terrible selection of organically grown food, so it's off to the nearest organic farms. Luckily, I live next to a wood and nature reserve and collect food from there. It saddens me that I never see anyone else doing the same. Last autumn people were buying sweet horse chestnuts while I was collecting more than I could consume and gifting bags to friends who like them. Love and light.

At my place we use biodegradable things like eggshells as plant compost and milk cartons to grow plants to say I love you to planet earth.
I use glass bottles and fill them with filtered water, I'm huge on using eco-friendly items and taking care of our earth and the ocean. My yoga mat is even eco-friendly lol and my bento box. I am also an Herbalist so when i drink the herbs it's my way of taking in what the earth is providing us ❤ love your videos, they've help guide me when I'm stressed or when i just need that bit of guidance by someone who is also as free-spirited and open minded as i am ❤ so thank you very much for your content and opening up your heart in your videos 🤟

Hi I try to be more thoughtful about i throw away, and cook from scratch it hard sometimes to get the family to support certain things when they need things has children. Thank you for inspiring me to do more. You have a beautiful home and i find your podcasts really good on writing x
I got sick of paying increasingly high prices for increasingly less returns, so when my last slumlord defaulted on the mortgage and I had to move, I started buying my own property. I lived out there from '17 to '19, I had plans for energy independance, as well as my own food production. I'd still be building it up today if not for the Jeep breaking down. I want to get back to it eventually but I lost that property, so I have to start over.
Dear Kate, if I could, I would give you a big LOVE instead of just a like for this video. Your words resonate with me so much! I'm doing my best to cut down on my waste and recycle all I can. It's a learning curve, sometimes I fall back into the pit of convenience and buy something in a plastic packaging (and then shake my head when I realise at home I could have searched for an alternative...), but I managed to cut down my waste to approx. 1 small waste bag every 2 months. Everything else gets recycled. But I still have a way to go...

I just stumbled upon your video. While I'm not ready to live a minimalist life, you made me realize that I'm wasting so much money on tissues when I could simply use handkerchieves. Also, why am I buying a six pack water bottle when I could use a reusable glass bottle? So much waste in my life... Thank you so much for your video. It was eye-opening.

However, I'm facing a huge problem...
I have solid theme, a message that I want to shout on top of my lungs to the world, adorable flawed characters and yes - their internal conflicts. I also have a pretty good idea of the 3rd act and know exactly how my story's going to end. However, I have no idea about the story's external conflict/plot. I was thinking about some possible options, but none of them align with my theme perfectly and I'm afraid that the misalignment between plot and theme might make the novel too complicated and confusing. Please help! How do I come up with a plot from theme and characters? How do I know what mission my characters are going to go on to return with gained experience and wisdom? Thank you❤

Going package free in my bathroom has been such a wonderful switch. I have been working on my kitchen and food use little by little. But shampoo bars soaps, cleaners and all natural things have been fantastic for my body and for the earth
I think this should be standard practice living for all writers just live in a van and write 😅
