Saved me 70 plus tax so ty for this tutorial!!! Followed your directions and very easy. Used a blow dryer on n off for 5 minutes for back glass... then 30 seconds for battery. Half hour taking my time. Ty, again!
just replaced my battery thanks to this video, I don't have a hot plate so I used a heat gun for like 8 minutes on the edge of the back, I ended up breaking the back glass but I kind of knew I would since I had never done this before, so I had ordered one before hand along with the battery. great video, it helped me breathe a little life into this phone, so I can keep it until the s8 hits shelves in a few months. thanks!
Thanks for this great resource. I found it easier to attach the battery cable before setting the body back into the housing. Used my panini press on low with a cotton cloth as a hotplate.
I was watching this logged out but had to login to say it, this video was concise and to the point. You said everything clearly and sounded reassuring to how easy it was! Thanks for the video and the help. (I'm going to be performing the phone surgery a little later so wish me luck!) BUT ONE QUESTION: do you need additional adhesive at any steps during the process? I know you didn't say nor show in the video, but when would you need adhesive and what type should I look online/store for?
Excellent video. Used a hair dryer, a smothering of patience and a decent suction tool normally used for floor tiles. Recommended and informative. Thank you.
couple of mins then use suction pad. repeat several times. when you get one end lifted, dont lift too high, just high enuf to get a piece of thin card in between to stop it re-sticking. repeat hairdrying / suction until released all around. i used an 8cm suction pad norm used for lifting floor tiles. it was almost too large to fit. the pads that came in the battery kit were simply inadequate. Hope that helps you. Andy
I used a hair dryer, was really easy, dont need no hot plate. Took me about 20 minutes to do this, i have no experience opening phones at all. Wasnt as bad as i thought it was gonna be, i got a brand new replacement kit that came with new adhesive.
Like 5 minutes on low setting. warm it up slowly or you will heat damage the parts. be careful when removing the back its glass and will snap if bent too far.
thanks. im having trouble getting these initial screws out. i got most, but others won't twist out, they twist but dont come up enough. a few of them i managed to pry up, but the remainder seem to spin in place. what do i do ?
Worked really well - the only problem was that the old battery started to smoke whilst I took it out as I probably damaged it slightly whilst prising it out - maybe don't use a sharp knife....
Question. My phone has been sitting for a while . Bout a year . When I last used it it charged no problem. Now the phone is completely dead and wont charge. It shows the charge sign but the % wont go past 0% . Is the battery bad or is it something else???
hey i just replaced the battery, prior to this. The battery was draining way more, now i replaced the new battery and it seems that the battery is still draining but not as much. Any advice on to what could be happening to the phone? thanx
Back is not coming off. I have a heat gun and suction cup, heated it so it is warm.... it's not lifting up whatsoever. Heated it to hot. Still nothing. Can not get any sort of gap just to squeeze my little splurge in :(
Ok at first I had a water damaged phone that wouldn't turn on. Not I have a completely smashed up glass back because no matter what I did, this son of a bitch back wouldn't come off. It has just shattered under the suction come. I tried a little warm. Then warmer. Then hot. Nothing. Don't try this techinque unless you are ok with risking your phone.
I used the hair dryer. Not effective. I had to first the destroy the back of my phone with a hammer and flat screwdriver. Maybe I should have used a razor blade instead.
DIv I hear ya. does it still fast charge, data transfer? I tried everything I read, alcohol instant oatmeal, & hair dryer... got the fast charge to work sporadically. Don't put it in alcohol I think it distorted my speaker.

Thank you SO MUCH. This is way easier than I thought - it took me about 45 minutes to complete the whole job. Dean - South Africa.
I remember times when phone battery replace was easy and take 5 seconds.
I am watching this video to see if I can fix mine. I puked all over it.

Good video, have changed a few screens in the past but my edge plus needs a change of battery and this is all I needed to know :)
Excellent video. Used a hair dryer, a smothering of patience and a decent suction tool normally used for floor tiles. Recommended and informative. Thank you.
How long did you use the hair dryer for to take it out?

Hey...
Can you help me in getting the battery Again, as the link you shared in the description for the battery is not working.
Also why didnt you use adhesive to close it back up?
thanks for this...it really help me a lot
Thanks Serg, it was really very helpful. I appreciated, very well explained..
can i use a stanly knife instead of a isesamo tool. and for warming can i hold it above a coocking plate?
Try holding it over a dictionary

Hello i have a question where can i find a power button for my s6 edge plus ?
Worked really well - the only problem was that the old battery started to smoke whilst I took it out as I probably damaged it slightly whilst prising it out - maybe don't use a sharp knife....
Does anybody know exactly what adhesive samsung uses and where to get it.
Question. My phone has been sitting for a while . Bout a year . When I last used it it charged no problem. Now the phone is completely dead and wont charge. It shows the charge sign but the % wont go past 0% . Is the battery bad or is it something else???
Very useful - thank you. :)
One screw seems to be giving trouble and not coming out and it's not worn out any tips on how to get that one screw out
Is the back adhesive still strong after removing?
No
So why no glue when replacing the battery?
ua-cam.com/video/LVRsKB3BuaM/v-deo.html
@@toptownmobiles4647 How does that help? It's just another video that doesn't explain about the glue, so it doesn't answer the question
How much is priced in dollars
What about the glue that held it together? Will it stay together with no problem????
Joe Cascio most likely gunna have to put a little adhesives on the back
hey i just replaced the battery, prior to this. The battery was draining way more, now i replaced the new battery and it seems that the battery is still draining but not as much. Any advice on to what could be happening to the phone? thanx
lacuevadelvampiro Youre using too many apps that drain your battery.

looks easy enough but I can't find an s6 edge+ battery :( the only ones I've found are the lower capacity s6 batteries.
i have a brand new battery s6 edge plus for sale for you if you want,
bello villegas do they make a higher capacity battery?
They sell them on eBay and you can get as high as 3800mah. Good luck.
Scott Marshall look on eBay

Unfortunately there is no other way. I changed mine today and it went flawless.
I used the hair dryer. Not effective. I had to first the destroy the back of my phone with a hammer and flat screwdriver. Maybe I should have used a razor blade instead.
He is not showing you when he gets stuck
Hahahaha, very true gorgeous
That doesn't look like an s6 as there is no IR blaster at the top of the device
sumith juggai s6 edge plus has no ir blaster. you either are confusing it with another phone or you need to look at a spec sheet
I heated the phone until I couldn't touch it and it wouldn't even budge no matter how many times i heated and repeatedly suctioned it.
what is STD for a phone... the repair man told me my phone has "STD"
Too much phone sex perhaps?
Probably herpes
A hot plate wtf ?????
cool, i just busted the glass on the back of the phone.. -_-
Like number 700
F... me, if this phone was at least waterproof....
Michał Rumcajs if you plug up both the charger & aux port it will come close. Dropped my phone in snow now it won't fast charge
Robert Berin lol i just dropped my s6 edge+ in snow too, pwr and home buttons stopped working :/
DIv I hear ya. does it still fast charge, data transfer? I tried everything I read, alcohol instant oatmeal, & hair dryer... got the fast charge to work sporadically. Don't put it in alcohol I think it distorted my speaker.
Robert Berin I went ahead and put it in a bag of rice last night, woke up to a fully functioning phone! Haha, but alcohol seems like a poor idea
anwarsswo
Literally just tried this for 40 mins before finally breaking the glass. I actually got a blister on my finger from pulling the suction cup so hard.
