    Saved me 70 plus tax so ty for this tutorial!!! Followed your directions and very easy. Used a blow dryer on n off for 5 minutes for back glass... then 30 seconds for battery. Half hour taking my time. Ty, again!

    just replaced my battery thanks to this video, I don't have a hot plate so I used a heat gun for like 8 minutes on the edge of the back, I ended up breaking the back glass but I kind of knew I would since I had never done this before, so I had ordered one before hand along with the battery. great video, it helped me breathe a little life into this phone, so I can keep it until the s8 hits shelves in a few months. thanks!

    Thank you SO MUCH. This is way easier than I thought - it took me about 45 minutes to complete the whole job. Dean - South Africa.

    I remember times when phone battery replace was easy and take 5 seconds.

    I've completely tore down an S5 before and it was pretty easy. This repair seems pretty straight forward. Thanks for sharing

    Thanks for this great resource. I found it easier to attach the battery cable before setting the body back into the housing. Used my panini press on low with a cotton cloth as a hotplate.

    I was watching this logged out but had to login to say it, this video was concise and to the point. You said everything clearly and sounded reassuring to how easy it was! Thanks for the video and the help. (I'm going to be performing the phone surgery a little later so wish me luck!) BUT ONE QUESTION: do you need additional adhesive at any steps during the process? I know you didn't say nor show in the video, but when would you need adhesive and what type should I look online/store for?

    Excellent video. Used a hair dryer, a smothering of patience and a decent suction tool normally used for floor tiles. Recommended and informative. Thank you.

    • @nickolancher9363
      @nickolancher9363 6 років тому

      How long did you use the hair dryer for to take it out?

    • @Andy-lo7or
      @Andy-lo7or 6 років тому

      couple of mins then use suction pad. repeat several times. when you get one end lifted, dont lift too high, just high enuf to get a piece of thin card in between to stop it re-sticking. repeat hairdrying / suction until released all around. i used an 8cm suction pad norm used for lifting floor tiles. it was almost too large to fit. the pads that came in the battery kit were simply inadequate. Hope that helps you. Andy

    I used a hair dryer, was really easy, dont need no hot plate. Took me about 20 minutes to do this, i have no experience opening phones at all. Wasnt as bad as i thought it was gonna be, i got a brand new replacement kit that came with new adhesive.

      MastaX how long did you warm it with the hair dryer for?

    • @ViralWatchMedia
      @ViralWatchMedia 7 років тому +5

      Like 5 minutes on low setting. warm it up slowly or you will heat damage the parts. be careful when removing the back its glass and will snap if bent too far.

    Ok at first I had a water damaged phone that wouldn't turn on. Not I have a completely smashed up glass back because no matter what I did, this son of a bitch back wouldn't come off. It has just shattered under the suction come. I tried a little warm. Then warmer. Then hot. Nothing. Don't try this techinque unless you are ok with risking your phone.
