    I used to work in an authorized Samsung service center, changed a lot of batteries. We preheated the phone in an oven, 70°C and 15 minuttes. Then with an eyedropper/pipette soaking the edge with alcohol, before using the picks and sucktioncups, and in this manner, the back came off farely quick without breaking.

      I'm honestly sketched to put any phones that's been taken apart under water. Yes, new adhesive will certainly help, but to say it retains its ip rating is just hard for me to believe. Everyone be careful with your phone around water unless it's never been taken apart and you've never dropped it ever.

      I put the new adhesive in the kit. I don't take my phone in the shower or swimming so I don't think the ip rating matters. I also don't use it outside in the rain.

    Smashing replacement, well worth the money:-D
    Those plastic plectrums are ideal.
    I had to replace a hard drive in a friends apple machine (the vertical standing type.
    i used a feeler gauge and heat gun to persuade the screen to let loose.
    The inside was so mucky like a p.c does.
    There was ribbon cables from the pcb to the glass screen, i didn't like that design.

    I appreciate you going through this, for folks that have no idea how to, when these new phones are glued in.. I just received a Samsung galaxy S9plus from a close a loyal friend.. The old phone broke, it was a Samsung galaxy J7 phone, it lasted 6 years, until it's glass face broke badly. My roommate and original owner of the s9plus gave it to me. It works find, but it doesn't open like the old J7 Dinosaur📱, so you came up, and appreciate your help.. I do have a question regarding your heat gun.. What Heat Gun brand and heat setting, and how long the heat contact to the 📱phone areas? especially when attempting this for the first time, instruction or no instructions, no disrespect to you sir? I still need to be careful

    I'm still running a Note 3 as a secondary phone; I've replaced the battery many times; the USB socket twice and display once. It's now running Android 11 (Lineage OS 18.1, not rooted) and is still as fast as it was ten years ago.. The latest flagship Samsung phones are north of £1.5k and the only reason to have one is pure one-upmanship. Some may argue how good the cameras are, but given that the A.I. on these phones is messing with any photo taken, I wouldn't trust them to take a photo.

      I will see how long i can keep the s9 running. It serves my use perfectly. I don't play games on it. Email, banking and payments and maintaining my UA-cam channel, like answering this question. The screen has a fair but of burn from icons and the virtual keyboard. Which i change from time to time.
      As I mentioned i have a new s20fe waiting in the wings for when this one craps out for the last time.

    If Samsung doesn't update your firmware anymore, you could look into flashing a newer one made by people on XDA. I haven't done this in years, especially on Samssung phone since it will trip KNOX and you might get locked out of installing banking apps. Samsung phones are the most locked down.

    Nice job. I had to buy new phone last year because they stopped providing updates to my old phone, and indeed banking app stopped working because of this. Never had to replace the battery though, it's still working as a camera and alarm clock, just not as a phone or other online apps.
    Seems Samsung has now expanded the update period with new phones. The new phone I bought is Samsung Galaxy A13 (4G) and already it was updated to Android 13. Looks like it'll receive the Android 14 update as well in the future.

    I am curious How's the Samsung batteries like in general since I saw quite a lot on UA-cam from tech channels that Samsung have the tendency with puffed up batteries the most.

    • @12voltvids
      @12voltvids  Рік тому +1

      Well this one has never puffed up but my work phone an s8 did as did my current work phone a s10e. Found out why. The phone holder was in the path of the heater and warm air blew on the back when the heat was on. My s9 never leaves my pocket and thus doesn't overheat. Also my work phone was in an OtterBox case. They hold in the heat and cause battery overheating which results in puffed battery. Poke a hole in it and get the gas out and it is fine.

    • @JessicaFEREM
      @JessicaFEREM Рік тому

      Batteries only get puffy like that when they're not being used or orlver discharged. If you use and charge your phone regularly that's not a huge issue.
