I've wanted to do some beading but wasn't sure how. I've only put a few beads on one project and struggled to have them not be wonky. Thank you very much for your video. It was a 'duh' head slap moment when I saw you split the top leg around beads! Awesome. Thank u!

Great application for the split stitch, so pretty with the tiny seed beads.

Great video. I have never tried that method but looks a lot better than when I attach beads. Will be trying this. Thanks

Kimberly, thank you for showing this. I would not have thought to split the threads over the bead. What a great idea! I know it would hold it much better. :) Great instructions. :)

    Hi Kimberley,
This is really helpful. One question though: did you drag the thread that far just for demonstration purposes or is it ok to drag the thread? I am a bit worried about dragging threads. I normally only drag my thread not more than 2, 3 stitches. 😌
    Stay safe and happy crafting.

This is fantastic. Thank you! Question: how do you add a bead between stitches? I have a pattern that calls for a bead to be added in the middle of a box of four cross stitches. How would I anchor it? Would I go up and down through the same hole?

Hello Belle L! Bring the needle up in one corner of the square, through the bead and then down in the diagonal/opposite corner just like the doing the first leg of a regular x.

Why are you adding beads on top of stitches? I've done many projects with beads and the beads always have their own space. I was also taught that with the smaller beads , size 15 or petite, you go back through the bead on the second half of your stitch. If you are using larger beads, you only do the first half of the cross stitch.

Deborah Ryan I’ve done beading the way you describe and beading like Kimberly demonstrated in the video (plus a few others). It’s simply personal preference of the look and dimension I desire for my project.

Do you clip the long thread on the back or do you clip them as you add them?
