  • Recent accounts of the U.S. State Department building liken it to the site of a nuclear attack: empty offices, dark wings and noiseless halls. According to Ronan Farrow, this desolate building is a symbol of something even bigger-American diplomacy has fallen to the wayside while our use of military action seems to grow. How did this happen and what does it mean for America’s place in the international sphere?
Farrow, investigative journalist, former government advisor and now author, answers these questions and more. Farrow documents the decline of diplomacy since 9/11, citing incidents from across the globe and sharing interviews with whistleblowers, policymakers and every living secretary of state, from Henry Kissinger to Rex Tillerson.
Join us for an enlightening conversation with Farrow about America’s role in the global community, the changes that have gotten America here, and how a return to diplomacy could lead the nation down a brighter path.

The book is really terrific.... and it is worrying to think what goes on behind the scenes and how hamfisted the whole thing is while they try to pretend its all so smooth... everyone should read this book

Of now 13 comments on total, 6 insult the female interviewer. Ronan seems to be enjoying her style.

She and Ronan have a back history, so it makes sense to be more conversational

I hate hosts that interrupt constantly. I want to hear the guest. The right, uma, finishing the sentence. Let the guest talk.

It is the fallacy driven by those who either understand but do not care about Foreign Policy or those who do not understand Foreign Policy and the fact,it is in fact, the very premise of our Constitution ofThe United States.
It would be interesting if the US public would take interest in US Diplomacy.

Very nice and smart host lady, but it'd be nice for her to stop talking at the same time with her inviting guest.

She interrupts when he’s criticizing the Clintons. She doesn’t him want to elaborate on this. He’s quite impartial. Really informed guy.

I love listening to Ronan talk but the interviewer was very annoying. She was always interrupting him and inserting herself in the interview. This interview was about Ronan. I think she forgot that.

Not a very good interviewer should keep her mouth shut more often and ask more pertinent questions, excessive interruptions.

2 minutes into the interview and I start reading the comments to see if they saw what I'm seeing!
You were 100% correct & saved me a lot of time, that I will use to watch Ronan give greater interviews!
