One of your best videos (and not because I requested it). I love how you show both Brian and Rivers parts...and then explain the theory behind it. Very well done. I was wondering why the video was so long. Great 12 minutes of fun and knowledge. Pat yourself on the back sir (no pun intended )
Thanks Pat! hehe I remember being 8 and wondering why people look like their names. I said aloud "steve LOOKS like a steve, and mark LOOKS like a mark" and instantly in 8 year old fashion began cracking up uncontrollably at the pun. This is exactly that situation :P

second weezer song ive learned (first was buddy holly) and this tutorial was amazing! the journey was arduous, and a hard fought victory shall be claimed when i whip out this riff jamming with my buddy this saturday.

I love that rivers covers songs that were big inclusive of times he was big :) I didn't know that one was out there to be found! Philly is treating me well... however my whole life is basically put on hold by the fact that the young squire is off school (he had school all year round in CA so we could get our sh%$ done) He's got reading camp for the month of july however, so I really ought to be able to clear a weekend for us. quite a bit later than I had anticipated, and I do apologize!

I have found that it is easier to play the intro faster if you play open d instead of 5th fret on a. Great Vid!

Hey Ryan, great video again. Check out Revelate by The Frames (Glen Hansard's band) it uses octaves in the song also.

Please do it's a great song. The octaves are in the redeem yourself part but you should be careful as I will start requesting more frames songs 😀😀😀
Great video! Honest question - why not just keep the C shape in the first "D" position and pluck the strings 3-5-4-2, same as when you move it to C. You're going to the trouble of lifting your middle finger to pluck the open D string, when your ring finder is already on a D note on the A string. Economy of motion!
