You know who was a 7th pick in the draft? Stephen Curry. Oh, and Dame was 6th. Don't need a top 3 pick. You can find great players in the top ten, most years.

Jokic was drafted 41st, Giannis & Kawhi 15th, Harden & Embiid 3rd, Westbrook 4th, Curry 7th, Kobe 13th, SGA 11th, etc.

Id be really disappointed if it was next season, but 2-7 this year is whatever.

Blazers really need to consider trading up.
I could see Blazers trading one or both second round picks to swap 14 for 8, or 7 for 3, to the Spurs or Rockets respectively. I have little faith, in a draft this bad, there will be any legitimate players worth drafting that deep and Blazers deserve legitimate swings at prospects, not hopes and prayers.
I agree with this assessment, as long as the guards get picked ahead of the Blazers at 7 and have the various prospects you mentioned available when the Blazers turn is there.
If the teams ahead of them don't pick any guards, or teams behind jump ahead via trades to pick non guard players, then fully expect Cronin to draft the latest 6'1 guard. And then do nothing to balance the roster. Sigh.....
I'm not buying the positivity, but it's mainly just annoying that it's another tank year where the prize for tanking does not seem worth it, are we gonna tank again next year in hopes for Cooper Flagg and then miss out on 1 and the plan for contention, for not building around Dame and moving on from him is Scoot, Sharpe and the 7th overall pick? That's a real step above any team we had during the Dame era...
this draft class doesn't have a generational talent so it may really end up being a W because usually the stand out from classes like this isn't the number 1 pick

I would really prefer Portland to be picking in the late 20s, early 30s on a regular basis. This whole picking in the top 10 business is for the birds. Build a winning team and start winning games again Portland!!!! Damn man, I really hope they make it happen this year.
Two things.
Should they use the 14th pick for trading higher, or for a free agent or in a package?
Should they keep or trade the two second rounders?
Blazers need size, length and to cut salary. I would get rid of Thybulle and Brogdon, and trade Simons if they draft a lotto pick that is best available and it is a guard with high upside. Time Lord will have no trade value. Need a big that can work with Ayton. Need improvement next season on layups and three point shooting.

We definitely need to draft size and length and stay away from guards. Mitash bizelles (I'm sure I slaughtered the spelling) is a name that sounds intriguing if Clingan isn't available. We need to get longer and bigger.
I’d offer up a trade with any team for a next year first, if anyone is dumb enough to take it. Bunch of nobody’s in this draft.

I just want to see us draft a wing with high upside like Buzelis or Holland. 14th pick take whatever BPA is there whether its Knecht, Williams, or Salaun. Its too bad we have an inexperienced GM because Kevin Pritchard turned the franchise around in one draft by packaging players to move up and acquire the draft rights of Aldridge+Roy.
I hope every other team sees Rissacher the way you do and we can get him at 7
