LYRICS:
[Verse]
Gotham city baby, my bat-light's aglow, there's crime in this dirty city a corruption overflow
I hear the sound of drums, in the distance they pound
An unlicensed street performer playing tunes all around town
No permit, no papers, just a man and his drum
Not in my city pal, you pay you villain scum!
[Bridge]
Before I suit up I need a snack
A bat-shaped granola to fuel my attack
Alfred hands me my cowl and I slip it on tight
This illicit street performer is meeting vengeance tonight
I grab my bat-back pack, and I make sure my bat lunch box is packed!
[Chorus]
I've got a strict code
No permit, you're breaking the law
I'll shut down your song with a punch to the jaw
You think you're slick with your little street show
But I'm the dark Knight, I am the law, I'm vengeance and it's time you know
[Verse]
I spot the drummer he's wrinkled and grey, but justice is blind and I don't delay
I grab his sticks and snap them in two
I grab his shirt and scream "what the hell are you trying to do?"
He's frail but he's breaking the law
So I treat him equally with a haymaker to the jaw!
[Bridge]
The old man hit the floor with a thud so clear
A crumbled paper falls out and I peer
It's a permit, with his name in bold
Seems the old man did what he was told
Let this be a lesson for buskers out there
Keep your papers visible or beware!
[Chorus]
I've got a strict code
No permit, you're breaking the law
I'll shut down your song with a punch to the jaw
You think you're slick with your little street show
But I'm the dark Knight, I am the law, I'm vengeance and it's time you know
(All lyrics written by myself).
I swear these Cliff Sherbert songs are better than most real 80s glam/arena rock acts. Awesome!
I just realized that in this cover art, Batman is sliding up with so much rage that his boots are sparking against the asphalt.
I love it every time you uncover another one of these classics, thought lost to time. The stories of the Dark Knight of Gotham brings a tear to my eyes, it makes me think back to when I was a young man of 62 in 1974 and got to witness the Dark Knight in person. Yes, he was real - some even say he was Cliff himself, but who knows? On that dark night in '74 I was part of an innocent group of people, including children on their way home from church with their parents, who were accosted by a villain. The terror I felt, the horror. I thought my life might end, and the children might die - but then the Dark Knight came. His battle against the illegal panhandler was truly incredible. I don't care how thin and starved that homeless man looked, he fought like a tiger - showing his true criminal colors. In the end, we were saved - and he left without even waiting for us to thank him. I think his meter was about to run out.
Cliff Sherbert is a national hero
This sounds like an epic final confrontation.
Batman's nemesis is not the Joker after all.
Thank you for introducing me to this and Peter Pubes. Nice to have some fresh new workout music, even if it's really just AI testing our weaknesses for when it's time to take over. That reminds me, a Terminator themed song would be on brand.
After all the humans are gone, what will a terminators purpose be?
Go lookup Skynet's Victory Celebration by me. It's an instrumental, but it's an AI EDM song themed to the Terminator.
@SilverTriforce25 Terminator having an existential crisis after completing its mission. That's an idea.
After I buy the rights to the arkham games, I'm hiring Cliff to write the sound track.
I only say we have never seen Cliff Sherbert and Bruce Wayne in the same room...
Say, would you ever consider putting your songs on spotify? You have some actual bangers.
I'm excited to heat this in theaters when the new Batman movie pops out.
And then you drop another batman one today 😂 love it
These videos have inspired me to become the best Batman my city has ever dealt with!
While I do think The Caped Tax-Evader was Cliff Sherbert's best album, I must say his Old Jungle Sayings album was his most underrated.
Part three!?!?!? I haven't stopped listening to the last two songs!!! Salvation!
There's urban legend that Cliff Sherbert did all the music for 89 batman but it was so good WB said if it's released people will roit so it was locked in the WB safe and put in a rocket shot into space legend has it just passed Pluto another legend is alien heard it took every copy so WB had to call prince to do 89 batman music
These Cliff Sherbert songs were great in Batman (1989)
This is awesome!
I'm a simple man. I see a new Cliff Sherbert single drop, I recline in my chair with a cappuccino and hit play.
What are you using for the music generation?
good, but not as good as prior songs.
Id buy this
Thanks Mr Wayne! Your service to safe guard the barriers of freedom and those who abuse it! Is a true black knight service to the rest of us! 🫡
