I had a dream after listening to some of your music and I hope that perhaps it can inspire you. I had created a piece of music which i listened to, accompanied by a vision. The music included a gigantic pipe organ with a violent and melancholic tone. I could hear the deep reverberation of a slow, bassy cello in the background. I also heard a choir of voices in the low and middle ranges. In the vision I saw an ocean of blood in the dead of night with a full moon, accompanied by the pipes of the organ coming out of the sea, which moved as I changed perspectives. I saw “my hearts” which were symmetrically aligned with the pipes. I could feel and hear all of these hearts beating with the music, but it was also as though they were the ones singing as the choir, but more than that. It was storming wildly. (I don’t know how I could see the moon despite this, like one patch was left open just for the moon.) At the end of the vision, it was like all of the objects aside from the ocean and moon “burned,” but also “transfigured.” It was like they became gold, then all faded to black as the song ended. There were around 30 or 40 pipes, and the number of hearts changed from 4 to 10 at most as perspective shifted. I felt tremendous pride, awe, and love in what I had created. I wanted to show someone else, but before I could figure out how, the dream ended.
Awesome. Great to wake up to new Adam Hurst in my recommended. This is almost a John Cage level of experimentation, though with functional instruments that haven't had debris thrown in :) Thank you for the years of awesome music!
I got Wings of Desire flashbacks in my head! and then Tom Waits crept in and asked.."What's he building in there?" Loved it Adam, Cheers!
