Can I say how much I love the candids at the end of each video? :) you're adorable Emmy!
Thanks :) I'm glad you enjoy them.
Actually, the three-language-label is because we have four main languages here: German (north and central), French (south-east and south-west), Italian (south) but also Rhaeto-Romanic.
***** actually it's just west (www.uebersetzerportal.de/bilder/schweiz_sprachen.gif)
fuckJuly but there are two types of german in switzerland.
jody024 no, we have only one "official" german which is the same german people in germany use. on the streets though, we probably have like 15 different dialects (the actual swiss german). but signs, books and stuff like that are mostly in german.
good morning, good point.
Switzerland has actually 4 official languages (german/swissgerman,french,italian,rätoromanisch), that's why a lot of things are labelled with several languages :)
I live in Switzerland and I love all of this snacks, especially the Magenbrot, and the Appenzeller Biber. Love to see how other people enjoys them too.
the real reason why evrything is written in 3 languages is because in switzerland we speak 4 languages : french swissgerman italian and rätroromanisch
I am such a big foodie so I am loving all your videos. You're so enjoyable to watch.
Anyone else notice that Emmy's glasses make her eyes look so much bigger? Please keep wearing them! :)
***** Huh? What's the matter.
Love your unique humor Emmy!!!
Hee that end! Your sense of humor is incredibly entertaining, and very unique. Thanks for another great video! :)
You're welcome. :)
You really do have such a great memory! You can remember all the foods and snacks you have ate before from all those different countries. If it was me,I would have forgotten everything cos I have unicorn memory [if any of you got that XD]
Haha omg yixing memory XD I have that too
Yeshu! Yixing memory! Unicorn memory like I have that...maybe not as bad but I do XD
I've been watching youtube videos since 2007, and you are without a doubt, the most likeable youtuber I have ever seen! Your videos make me really hungry though..
Hi ! I come from Switzerland but I now live in Canada. I really appreciate your videos because you seem to be really open minded about all the foods. Nothing frightens you and you like everything. Good way of living ! :) keep it up !
Nothing frightens her except licorice. :-D
Switzerland's treats always seem so delicious.
Also, you rock those glasses :)
I am from Switzerland ^^
The nut-tard is from the canton that's on the right side, it's the biggest one and i live there ^^ i work in a bakery where we also produce those nut-tards. The filling is a mixture with walnuts, sugar, honey, cream, milk and butter.
Chubby bunny! Great work...I do envy you a bit that you get to try all these cool taste treats! Every time I travel, I try to eat unique things.
Love love love love love love love this channel :)
I love the little end bits on your videos c:
I've had N.A, they do it in france too, this is -amazing-. They are so packed with flavour!
In Switzerland, we have this supermarket called Migros (pronounced the French way) that everyone loves. They have lots of variations of brand products done the Migros way, and Eimalzin is the Migros version of Ovomaltine. Migros has brand products too, but their own takes are cheaper and some like them better.
Appenzeller Biberli are an awesome snack, and we eat them year round. They are also easy to digest. There is a new small company producing artisanal Biberli and they are heavenly!!
And regarding Ov(om)altine: it's like our national beverage. When kids go out to play, their moms would give them a packet of Ovo.
Frank Wenzel Thanks for sharing these little details. I feel like the only way to discover them is have lived them or to have them shared by someone who has.
I just find it fascinating what rich histories these little things have, and what they tell you about the everyday in all of these countries.
Well, duh, I guess that's why you are doing this in the first place.
in the first video of snacks from switzerland, it looks like every article was from migros.
oh yes. when you meet people, say, under 40 over here, sooner or later the question pops up: «were you a Migros or a Coop-child?» The answer HAS to be «a Migros-Child». I think back in the day, Migros was less expensive in general, and all the knock-offs of the real brands that Coop serves were (and are) celebrated.
Grisons is Frensch fpr the canton of Graubünden, which is that big canton in the south east. The Nusstörtli is filled with caramellized walnuts. The canton is almost entirely situated in the mountains, and is the canton where they speak Rumantsch (the Romansh language) in some regions. It consists of several idioms, and the language sounds a bit like Portuguese.
omg! ovomaltine is soooo delicious!
i'm from germany and my grandparents met each other in switzerland where they also lived for a while.
i remember they used to bring all sorts of stuff from ovomaltine like chocolate-bars and that powder you can mix with milk from when they visited friends there. but today it's also available in germany! :)
i especially love the chocolate bars! they are really special it's like pressed ovomaltine powder covered in chocolate! awesooome!
omg! ovaltine crunchy cream is friggin awesome. it's like nutella but with texture! gosh.. with a plain white bread.. awesome~~ and cassis is blackcurrent.
Oh my gosh Emy I am such a huge fans, your videos really inspire me. I have had the opportunity to try some of the things you had reviewed and they are all delicious! I love what you do and literally I watch you all day. Thank you for doing what you do. -Jasmine
P.s. Very nice double chin. :P
The 'Tirggel' are very hard and the idea is to break off a small piece and suck on it. That way they should develop the honey flavour in your mouth. They are normally sold before Christmas.
You can also buy them in a round shape with a hole through the top - in the olden days people used to weave a ribbon through it and hang it up on the Christmas tree.
I LOVE blueberries and pomegranates too
Have you ever heard of Grether's Pastilles? They're Swiss black current flavored candies that are supposed to help soothe a sore throat. You can get them in America, and they reminded me a lot of that little tin of black candies. I used to love them growing up.
I feel hungry now, nice video Emmy
I always love the ending me and my brother Justin love watching your videos
I love the cassis as a little girl i used to eat it all the time!
Glasses look adorable on you Emmy! (:

You have a beautiful voice and accent :) I really enjoy watching your videos
You are so great I love your videos
i love you emmy!!!
Switzerland is located between France, Germany, Italy and Austria and Liechtenstein...
Well I just learned something, I'm dumbfounded. I didn't realise blackcurrants were illegal to farm in the US, from 1911 then the individual states got the choice to lift the ban from 1966, but not all states seem to have lifted the ban yet as they are still deemed a threat to the lumber industry (can carry "white pine blister rust"). Obviously can be bought (imported from other countries/state) but is usually on the 'world foods aisle'!
Grison is the canton in the east with the capricorn in the crest.
Love yr vidoes emmie
You look so adorable with those glasses Emmy !! XD
i love Swiss chocolate
i am not from Switzerland but i have had their chocolate before in the past

My mouth is watering
You should wear your glasses more often; they look really good on you!
Nice they look yum
The pie at the start is a walnut tart :)
You cut too much of your footage. I understand that your trying to shorten the time but they don't seem as.... Realistic? I'm not sure if that's the proper word but I enjoyed the previous videos because were able to experience things with you, now it's "cut, next frame, cut, next frame" seems commercially. I mean even the videos that are only 5 to 7 minutes long. I just want more Emmy
Casis is actually made out of black currant
Oh my god, I love [N.A] !!!!!
My favourite fruit snack, they are available in Germany too :)
the print on the appenzeller bärli-biber is a bear :D "bärli" means something like small bear ^-^ im from switzerland,i love this stuff that you just tried cuz i ate them all when i was little!! :D

Emmy you're awesome! I really want to see you on a guest judge of a cooking competition or even on The Chew. Also, is it weird I instinctly say " どうぞ" when you say " いただきます?" ^^;
love your specs
I live in the Ticino Canton :) We speak Italian here :3
If you freeze pomegranate with mint leaves it makes it taste so much more refreshing to me I don't enjoy just pomegranate juice.
I have Kagi in my country I'm in Asia . There are mine size too.
I'm agree with storm X
Dammiiitttttttttt now i want a snack!!!! DX
As I have been watching your video's and following along.. I have found out... that you are not a fan of black licorice...! LOL.. I will be sure to remember that fact when I am able to compile a Canadian "treats and eats" sampler for you Emmy...
the Ovamaltine is a candy in the Philippines also a chocolate powder for Hot water/milk or cold milk/water but in the Philippines it is called Ovaltine love you so much
it is the same, it comes from switzerland, imported to the philipines. And it is not 100% the same, the recipe is a bit different. but the it is from the same producer.
Actually, Switzerland is not only bordering to Germany, Italy and France, but also to Austria and Liechtenstein!
YUMMMMMM!
In had those fruit strips from France and they had cereal in them and they were so sweet it made me ill

Switzerland is between Italy, French, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein
Lichtenstein is a part from Switzerland.
David C I hope this was irony.. :D
Andrea x3 What do you mean? Its True, i live in Switzerland.
Ich au.. Es chan sii, dass es paar vo dene Ost-Schwizer das us Spass seged aber es esch ned würklech so i hoffe mol dass du das weisch..
+David C Lichtenstein is NOT a part of Switzerland. They share a currency and the ski team trains with the Swiss but it is a separate country. Get your facts straight, please.
Grisons is the eastern-most canton, I live in Geneva, the western-most canton
I think the word you're looking for is "bespectacled" and not "bespeckled" because you don't seem to have any speckles. :P Great video, though. That stuff looked super delicious. =3
emmy.....WHY ARE YOU SO ADORABLE
Cassis is black currant. ^^
Does your family get to eat the left overs?
Do you tasted Zweifel Chips ?
Emmy the package is in the 3 languages because we have 4 national languagues.
german, french, italian and rumantsch (which is really a strange language)
by the way Grisons is the big canton in the bottom right :)
Emmy is immortal...u look the same back then 2 yrs ago...*o* it's a compliment, no other meaning xD
"Cassis" is the french name for black currant. :-)
Emmy Cassis is a mix of blackberry and blueberry. ;)
I reckon it's actually blackcurrant ;)
