Making an 8 minute video out of todays stage is actually impressive
Gotta get that ad revenue 😅
Was thinking the same
Lol! So true!
If you love the game you find the little details in everything
😂😂😂😂
Look if it was most other competitors I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, but Jasper has kind of worn his goodwill thin
this
Yeah, he's a really dirty sprinter, and it seems endemic to that entire team.
Did you see the video? When did Philipsen shut the door on Girmay? I don't even understand why LR chose this title?
@@fautqucabele2070 It's about the intermediate sprint. He won the line out and out, but the intermediate was weird.
It's his modus operandi.
Phillipsen sprint in a straight line challenge IMPOSSIBLE
Only because MVDP pulled HARD for him!
Jasper "the butcher "
IT WASNT
girmay is better, he gonna be a leyend
Girmay didn't either in the final sprint
I have to wonder if team leaders are telling their sprinters: “don’t get between Philipsen and the barrier”.
Bini is lucky. Jasper definitely knew Bini was on his right. No question about that. Currently Jasper can't defeat Bini if they sprint side by side.
The fact that he sprints whilst looking back seems like his same old dirty tricks.
He knew someone was behind him and pretended to look the other way. He could see that he's ahead of the guys on his left and veered towards the barriers coz no one can pass there (they'll just crash like Fabio).
Totally
Absolutely😏
True 🥲
Why the hell are you bringing Fabio into the discussion? You do realize it was Dylan Groenewegen who put Fabio Jacobsen into the barriers that caused his horrific injuries? DYLAN GROENEWEGEN. As far as I know people hate on Jasper because he won 4 stages last year though the relegation on the earlier stage was proper.
@@flyingturtle4559 I don't know why you're using "hell".
There's no part where I say he crashed Fabio. All I said was "crash like Fabio". Geez.
Bini must beware of Jesper Philipsen and Mathieu Van der Poel, both of whom put him under pressure last year. Also today he blocked from Philipsen, so must be he careful, there is no point in him being penalized if Philipsen or Van der Poel knocks him down. Bini Protect yourself. Be careful, God be with you.
Amen God will Protect him 🙏🙏🙏🇪🇷🇪🇷
Cant wait to see all the publicity Binyam is going to get after the tour, he is killlllling it.
He has been up there since last year, just unlucky on a couple of occasions
Winner of Tour will beat Biniam in the post Tour Crits though 😂
Was very unlucky with 2 big crashed in the last 12 months. Next 12 months will be great for bini
@@jonathanlong3356 who cares
U don't know Bini the king this was his 1st in tour de France don't cry like jasper rude. Go Biniam proud 👏 of u as all Eritreans 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 🇪🇷 👏 💙
Van Aert's fear of accidents was very visible in this sprint, along with the lack (for the moment) of his old "kick"...
But his kick already looked better than on stage 6 to me
@@henrikf0507 I agree
@@henrikf0507 got a better position. Did you see Cav today? Me neither
WVA fell more this year than his whole career. So he's extra careful while aiming for Olympics
If I crashed like him idk if I’d ever get on a bike again. That dude is tough as hell and he was literally screaming in pain. Horrible to see
What kind of idiots set the barriers? Over and over they wind up with barriers that squeeze in right in the last few meters. ASO/UCI are a big part of the problem. Someone needs to call them out.
sponsor barriers began.... as he said in the video.
@@sean7098 but why do the bottoms not stay in line? why squeze the most dangerous part of the race?
@@sean7098The race organisers put out the barriers though, not the sponsors haha. It's still those people who are responsible
@@yesno9374 The point Sean was making is that the sponsor barriers are different. But essentially the barriers changed to being on an angle instead of vertical. These are used in sprints so wheels don't hit the feet of the barriers. It is also unsafe to assume that they are put out by the organization, rather than a contracted local rental company or some such.
@@AdamFosterI understand what he was saying. I think the point of the original comment (and what I think) is the feet of the standard barriers should align with the bottom of the sponsor barriers so that the effective width of the course does not change when the barriers change. Additionally, I would say that if a contractor is putting the barriers out for the organiser then they are acting in proxy for the organiser, so I treat them as the organiser (the organiser should check setups are safe if they are outsourcing them).
Yes. And Gaviria. MVDP let him loose in the middle and his fastest and closest way to finish was just straight. He still goes straight for the barriers
Www incredible...thanks Bini for filling our hearts with happines...good team work thanks Intermarche
It seems like Philipsen always goes to the barrier like it’s his default. No one was there this time but he didn’t know that. He automatically shuts down either the left or right.
Also in the final sprint for the win, after MvdP's lead out he naturally swerves to the right out of habit it seems. Although this last sprint was more clean and there were no unpredictable movements, I still think it's unnecessary.
It's clearly a tactic, reduces the amount of people who can come around him but it's super dangerous.
Philiphsen"s team as a whole tends to shut riders way out I think Philiphsen dit it to Biniam deliberately.
Girmay did the same thing as well in the final sprint.
Bini King, it's okay. God will protect you 🙏 we well prey to finish peaceful. We don't care what they do we care ferst your health, our sunshine we love u so so much❤❤❤🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷🇪🇷
I seem to remember this Jasper cutting off riders before almost creating terrible accidents. He needs to be given a full blown warning ,that if he does it again conscious or unconsciuos you will be disqualified.
Agreed with you 💯 percent.
Yeah
Bini ❤🎉No body can take your Green Jersey 🇪🇷 keep doing👍⏳
I've always seen sprinters looking under their armpits to see behind them, but not Philipsen...
Insane lead out from mvp. Nobody came close
Why is mvdp not a main sprinter for stage wins?
@@dev1ce888 because he's a worse sprinter then Philipsen.
Now I know, thanks. I'm always amazed by mvdp's power though.
@@dev1ce888 because his strength is eventually sprint from low speed, like Flanders 2022 for ex. not sprinting in 70 km/h
@@rejdythat may be true. However, I think if he changes his training from cyclocross and classic riding to sprint training , he could be an amazing sprinter. But why should he, you can’t win monuments then, anymore. Just no “glory” wins at grand tours but can deliver his sprinter perfectly. Is also a form of glory in my opinion.
2:31 eventuated, new word, ty dude
Even lr is quick with such an exciting stage
Love the analysis about the gaps in the peloton, it really helps when watching races live. If you have any more tips like that please share!!
Really nice, detailed analysis of the group sprint!
In response to the title “probably”
I'm glad you do these. I watch them daily, but their great for days like today. I just checked out the stage profile and decided to skip today
Yes that ‘s right Philipsen has blocked so many tiems by Philipsen and also blockerd between sprinter by Jasper
Jasper ain’t going to change till he takes out someone. As for most of the stage sleepy is right.
Maybe someone puts Disaster into the barriers hard to send him a message from the other riders.
Well that sprint looked very clean
He took out Mads already
@@davidbranch2020 he never got near him
@@troycollett8540the intermediate was sketchy, clearly wasn't focusing on the line.
They should add a line that deviates 0.5m from the barriers, and if you cross it/make someone cross it there should be penalty. They should also have the balls to kick out philipsen. Seems almost corrupt that he is still in the race.
Yes, he shut it!
He didn't do it on purpose and Girmay made a stupid decision. No need for butthurt Bini bias
Yes he deviated. The front on shot shows him drifting to the left off of his line. He finishes his sprint way further away from the white line than he started
@@user-vt4hd8hb4v yes,bg just ride at the left side,he make mistake and try shut p.ackermann...every spinter just do samething, but media try play the game
Man these are my favorite highlights. Well done mate
Yes ,he is close to Biniyam
Yes, he shut it
Philipsen is nicknamed in Asmara Blockson
"The Disaster" NEVER disappoints. The peloton is so congratulatory... 🤣😂
6:53 "3 bike lengths", pardon, but it was one😢
front wheel to front wheel
@@LordVilmore wetll thats 2 not 3
Not gonna lie. I saw nobody outside of his teammates come over to congatulate him. Jasper gonna need a redemption arc.
Who else would you expect?
yeah , saw that
“Redemption”?!?! Lmao, no one likes him, and they have a reason to. Actually they have MANY reasons not to like him. They don’t owe him anything. You both are clowns.
Cav was the same when young.
@@TheTrailRabbit when someone else won last week, people of other teams came over to congratulate the victor. Not so with Jasper.
Wondering how many times you look at these clips to verbally assess what took place, for your viewers. I appreciate your efforts 👍 😊
The game's the game. Shutting the door is a strategy that works, which is why every good sprinter does it.
I distinctly recall Cav in his prime sprinting while swerving uncontrollably, often taking out other riders mid sprint, and he's the most respected sprinter of the modern era.
If guys riding fast in a line is what you're into, go watch the hour track record or something, bunch sprints are tactical fights as much as they are tests of pure speed.
Yes he did
Jasper moves to his rt, to the barriers
Bini had been plenty of room to sprint going left, but did not
The road narrows down dangerously at finish line. Another dangerous course. Riders union again goes zero
If Jasper had gone rt just a little bit more, probably relegated, perhaps kicked out. He came close but this time was just barely ok, when he shut down wva the other day, that swerve was more severe and blameworthy
Wouldn't have been surprised if Bini had been relegated. His move on Ackerman was pretty foul.
In the final sprint I especially felt that he closed the door on Gaviria…
I don't think Bini actually affected Ackerman's results. I also think Jasper closing off Bini was probably incidental but he's hardly earned the benefit of the doubt and needs to get his shit together.
Incidental? How he already know in his left shoulder nobody then he sow Bini is coming he directly closed the right place
@@shewhat438he never saw Bini coming
@@MacMasore Big lie.
@@MacMasore Exactly. Jasper doesn't have eyes in the back of his head, lol.
@@mesfinsamuel did you even watch the video? How could he have seen Bini who was behind?
Thanks bro
Warning should be issued to Bini, so if he does it again its also a dsq like they did to Jasper. Warn first, issue the dsq afterwards. Hope UCI holds true
We must protest Philipsen's behavior
It shouldn't matter if intentionally or nor, they are all world class and shouldn't do that. It still remains dangerous.
Jasper's door closing is legendary 😅
Stretching this stage into 8 min is equally as impressive as condensing stage 9 into only 8 minutes 😂
Legit Q when it comes to any sprint w Jasper the Disaster, but in this case i think it was more of the barriers starting all of a sudden .
I love these flat stages. They should have more
Keep doing 👍
It’s really like every sprint he is in the mix he is deviating and someone is forced to break.
Without mvp jasoer will never win this one
Like cavendish wouldn’t have won half of his stages without renshaw and morkov?
Arkea should try Capiot in the sprint some time, at least he won a sprint this year
Long live the preview!
from day one, you are taught to sprint to the finish to one side. make anyone passing you pass into the wind. even if there is no wind, block one side, so you don't give an easy draft for 2 people to pass you on both sides. sprinting 101.
Are you asking if Philipsen cut off Girmay? Just look at the video.
Girmay cut off Ackermann.
Thank you. Finally someone else here saying this. @@user-fo9bv2mm1g
Yes, he did!!!
What do people think about Philipson saying that he was portrait as the antagonist on the second netflix series? I feel like on the one hand it was very clear that they pictured his interviews worse (e.g. by showing his statement of being the best sprinter in the world over and over again) on the other hand he does things like in this video all the time. Even bullying another rider from another team to not create a breakaway. So does anyone have a full picture?
At the end of this race, bini was the one closing a door. If they ever want to use strickt(er) rules, they now should also punish bini for that move.
lets not forget about the flat tire
4:20 why did astana go on the front when cav was on the back...its not like he just detached. They must have known.
I've been trying to work it out, i think at 3:21 Astana have a train of three, Cav at the back and he just lets this Uno X rider snip him off. Then this results in him falling back when the rest of the team are still pretty much together. Sometimes I feel like if things aren't perfect he just doesn't bother
Biniam is Great as always and we see Who is The winner and its Biniam Ghrmai from Eritrea.
Well he didn't block Cavencrash because he wasn't in it...again. Finished 18th 😂😂😂
The "Barge Brothers" (MVDP and JP) should be well avoided..."The Pinball Hazard (not Wizard)" would be a good nickname, MVDP fires him out and where he goes and who he hits is anyone's guess...!
Yes
Yes, he did and got a taste of medicine recently!! What goes round comes round. Intermache used their team to teach Philipsen how it can be redressed perfectly in true sportsman spirit and made him look a little boy by doing exactly to counteract his moves if he ever tries it again!!!
Aa much as Jasper has made a reputation about himself in terms of "dirty sprints" this time he really couldn't see the green jersey..but I really think Biniam in this moment is faster than him
Show me where he shuts the door, because this was a clean sprint from Jasper. It's Bini shutting the door for Ackermann.
Yup
Agree he closed tbe Door *Bini* was blocked 😢!
When philipsen won everyone complain while the cycling committee ignored him, guys don't hurt yourself just watch it and ignore him, he might get aggressive rider like him and he will end his career, that's what they want to see!!
I don’t think he did it on purpose. As LR mentioned, when he looked left, it caused him to drift right and shut out Bini. On the other hand, Bini probably would not have been able to get it even if he did have clear road. Phillipsen just had too good a lead-out from MVDP. Just my $0.02.
Really 😂
No doubt.
Now I’m thinking why didn’t intermarche just send out a TTT to take sprint points 😂
Bunyam is amazing!!!!
🤦 man, bini! I already told you go to his left not to his right!!!!!!!
Yes he did 😮😮
6.08. Who was in second place behind Van de Poel?. Note teammate of Philipsen. He have a perfect position to sprint, but he inmediately abandoned the effort and open the door to MVP
Who the hell did place the barriers like this.
Jasper did a lot of shady stuff but this wasn't on him.
"3 bike lengths" - so that's 3 metres, right? ;-)
Yes he did blocked him coz he was scared of bini .period !
Man Bini just had to eat more wind out there
sprinters have to take a straight line. He took a straight line, the barriers weren't straight though. He shut the door for Van Aert in a earlier stage, but here, he didn't.
Did we watch the same race? Philipsen did not go straight - he cut to the right. In this case there wasn't anyone close enough to due to MVDP's amazing lead-out, but Jasper chooses to be dirty whether it's needed or not.
@@edmondwong5678 so you didn't watch it properly. Guess that's on you
Yes, he did. Phili is ready to hurt anyone for his victory
4:24 is it just me or is it a strange decision to just give up the ghost at that time instead of repositioning for your own sprint or at least riding fast enough to become a barrier for other lead out riders to contend with? Sitting in front, not accelerating?
Philipsen knews exactly what he was doing.
This time I don't think Philipsen did anything wrong, but Biniam did😮
How
What he did binam I don't understand you
@@user-tx4jz1pu9r
He went in front of Ackermann and forced him to stop
Many comments have me wondering how many have actually competitively raced and been in the fray of all out sprints.
They seem to lack the balls to disqualify him if he wins. If he finishes second, no problem.
congratulations but I'm not sure if he has the courage. We saw that he doesn't do everything right. But the media say otherwise, that's not fair. He doesn't trust his feet
And is not the first time , he does it all the time with not consequences.
why a rest day after A REST DAY!
I'm happy that Ackermann Looks very strong again.
I guess you have to get by jasper on the inside, since he will always take your lane near the barriers..
The sprint at the end was all his, though.
Jasper usually blocks riders that wpuld potentially pass him.. it's his nature #netflixhighlighteditout
Can any couching expert tell us as to why Jasper Philipsen always likes to sprint along the barriers?
Another classic Philipsen sprint
Philipsen sprinting without cutting some one of is impossible. Uci is waiting till the next groenenwegen-jakobsen accident.
It is not a question if but a question when.
Yes
He blocked him
That is his factor
Bini took an excellent action to avoid collusion.
