Great liveaboard! My favorite features are the huge windows in the cabins and the amount of space on the fly deck. Really enjoyed this video with Alain adding so much to the content.
It’s so cool that you bring us brand new yachts that nobody else has publicly seen! This is a very pretty yacht! It seems to have a lot of bells and whistles for a 42 foot vessel. Thanks for the wonderful tour of this yacht! Love from Vermont
How did I miss this video when it first came out? I am an Aquila fan, and this certainly doesn't disappoint. That forward cabin is fantastic, so versatile. If using it as a live aboard it really provides that space you never seem to find for "things". I tend to be a fan of an interior helm for those super hot days or if you lost track of the weather. But you know the fly bridge is really where it's at.
I never comment but I just have to. I love this boat. Usually I ignore caramaran tours, I just dont like them. But this one, I could live aboard. So many big windows, so many entertaining spaces. Soooo much storage. You could go all day and not see your spouse. For such a smallish boat, its huge! You could even have a captain. Could you put a pullman in the cozy cabin? I love everything from colour scheme to davit in back. Just lovely.
You just dont like them but love having two hulls. "For such a smallish boat, its huge." I like them because there is no healing and much safer in larger waves.
Great boat tour on a fantastic yacht. The Aquila rep is not only super knowledgeable but has a great sense of humour. Nice length of time to really give us a very comprehensive tour. This one’s now on my bucket list
Another fine boat with a lot of really nice features. I do like the access from the bow to the bridge for anchor handeling ,visability for docking and general operation . Looks like good access to operate and store stuff . The foiling option sounds interesting . In my opinion being able to operate in heavy weather is important . As we all know weather can change quickly . To me having Mr. Raas to help and advise is VERY helpful and shows commitment from the factory .
I love my Aquila and so much want to trade-up my 44 for this or a 54. But older now and this dream is slipping away. Continued on this model, as with other Aquila, one thing I absolutely love and insist upon, is the Captain/Pilot has a direct route from the wheel house, to the bow section. I Pilot and work there, so no one goes to the bow but me and my appointed Hand. No kids, or bathing cushions - just my equipment and work space. With Aquila designs I can dash up and down. I've learned to manage much of the boat myself (but it's smart to train at least 1 Hand to work your way).
I love powercats. The wider beams give a larger layout compared to monohaul vessels. So that 42 gives dimensions that an 85ft plus single hauled vessel gives. Awesome vessel. Nice that the CEO has given you Premier access. Beautiful little gem. X
Hiya Vico, Great video, just as I expected, perfection. Can I add anything? I believe what you three have already shared with us on this cat covered everything. Again storage and convenience of layout are not just good, but we get to change around just about everything. Thank you for the wonderful video. Fair winds and following seas, Steve xx
So much to love. Maybe a little tight in the bedroom but I love the fly bridge and the railings and sides and it just feels very livable. Definitely for weeks at a time.
Thank you for an amazing presentation of this boat. We can't wait to see it at MIBS. The official video released by Aquila did not do this boat justice. After my wife watched your video, she is pushing me as a must see next week. She loves the fact that its real people giving their opinions. This boat seems like it would be perfect for our retirement cruising coming up shortly. There goes my bank account.
I just love that Aquila is redoing the hull design for their yacht line-up to allow for a foiling option. I will say that the mental image of a 70 foot catamaran almost literally FLYING above the water is somewhat frightening 🤣. And as usual their USE of available space is second to none (at least as far as production/semi-custom boats are concerned). During the "geek time" Alain made a good point about how BELOW foiling speeds they're actually going to be a liability as far as fuel economy is concerned. Now to just add ultra-efficient props to the engines as well . . . Very nice tour Victoria, Rico and Alain. Thank you for the sneak peek at the new "pocket yacht"! I didn't see anything resembling pricing on the Aquila site but I'm pretty certain it will be at least 500k (if not 1M) over the 36 sport. _IF_ I could, I'd get one with this "SE" layout but with the addition of the larger engines, foiling option and Sharrow props.
One thing I never see on boats and this is something any active person would use is a steam unit in the master shower. Like the one you just showed with a bench would be perfect. A good steam, a cool rinse followed by a warm towel. Put that on your list. 🤟😎👍. Ohh forgot great review , loved da boat. Like a 60' mono
So, Victoria, I see that You actually DO wear your heart on your sleeve !! This cat might actually Change my mind about catamarans ! Another Great video !!
Oooooh Niiiiiiiiiiioce` ~ thank you for your recent hot tip about not clicking or like until after he's watched more than three minutes of video. That is super helpful!!!! ❤
Okay. Consider Leen 50 too then, which can be specified with no or a lowering flybridge, so that one cost the same with an advanced hybrid drive, even more space and also easier bridge clearance.
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv considered it however max beam on trent severn is 23' and the Leen 50 is 26'. Do like the hybrid system however which is why I am still considering Greenline as well
I lived in Clearwater for over 25 years before I retired (sort of) and moved north about 80 miles to the Crystal River area. I really like those power cats.
A lot of very thoughtful features, and love the power cat concept, but the exterior reminds me of the cheap "plastic fantastic" sailboats of the 90s. Definitely needs some classing up for the price of these boats. One more pet peeve, when I'm sitting in the aft cockpit I want to look at the beautiful natural surroundings, not forward into the boat. Too many boats do this. A few now have flip back seats that work both ways.
Victoria I don't think I have ever seen you in an outfit I didn't like. You have great taste and just the right amount of tac. I know I said Im not a Cat guy but I don't think the two of you have shown a Yacht that I wouldn't be happy with, and your videos are awesome. You help make my Saturdays. Thank you
I never really thought about a power cat until I toured the Aventura 14P at the Catamaran Show in La Grande-Motte. What an eye opener! Some of these are so efficient they can cross oceans. Thanks for the review. Dave. NavalGazingatCampDavid.
5:54 - As a prospective buyer, I would ask to have an upper rail installed for those of us who are 6 ft-plus. Then you have one for shorter people and one for taller sailors :)
A but long for me but so much detail was in your hosts presentation of the boat. A very knowledgeable man with a versatile way of speaking to different audiences. A great design.
The windows in the staterooms are great as is the opening window into the cockpit. I prefer a U shaped galley. Adding anti skid treads on the back stairs would make the ship look more finished. I would have liked you to edit in some foil video or stills from the manufacturer as it was too windy for the sea trial.
Very nice boat, and clearly you also liked it, when you spend so much time on it. Aquila is just the top motor catamaran company right now, in my book. So many great design features, as that flybridge with direct access to the bow. My comment about Aquaholic Nick were only meant to show appreciation about your quality of content here. I were mistaken, by the way, he has showcased the 44 this week and not this brand new model. His style is more true v-log style and a very quick run through the boats, without opening hardly anything. Not a critique of him either, in that way he sure can run through a lot of boats in just one week and create a lot of content, but you guys are the boat review VIPs in my book: Very high quality of content, good sense of humor too and always reliable information. The latter was absolutely not the case with former sailing catamaran review shows, that I used to follow, which in many cases simply slandered boats and companies, which they did not like. No names mentioned, no feelings hurt! I could throw one little wrench though: The Leen 50 offers even more space, an advanced hybrid drive system included with extreme range potential and for the same base price. I know, that you are not old enough to love the trawler style of those boats, as Victoria has pointed out so many times, but I am and many of your followers surely may be too! God Bless!
That's very kind, thank you. Nick and us have completely different styles of touring, so it's never a competition in our book - we are friends! Leen 50 has been on our radar...
This boat has a fabulous layout and fittings. My favorite bits are the cabin doors - a nod to sailboat hatches that also provide more interior space for each cabin. The beds are pretty low (a good thing). Was there any storage space under them? Another great video as always - too bad you couldn't go out.

Really like this boat and agree that it would make a fantastic live aboard. The only thing I noticed was that there didn't seem to be a weather door on the fly bridge access. Maybe it's not needed with the hard top?
