That was quite a story! Great ending and Art is the man! Love how Art had to be respectful to Uncle & Auntie back-to-back and could tell you were like 'tell me tell me' Gonna watch the unboxing video of the DJI next. Wanna get a drone badly for the past 3 years.
Hahahaha! Such a great synopsis! You should get one! DJI’s customer service in multiple countries has made me a huge fan and they have some really great price points.
I can't believe I never heard this story in real-time as it was happening! But I GET IT---The anxiety, the suspense, the sweet Thai angel Art and the just proof that ppl are GOOD! This was such a great video Jess!!
Girl…when I tell you you had me STRESSED throughout this video! 😅 it took me multiple pauses to finish it lol. Great storytelling! So glad you got it back and you encountered so many angels along the way. And I loved the nighttime drone footage!! 😍
Great story, thanks for sharing, it shows the Thai people are genuinely nice and will help out a stranger. Primo choice on where you decided to land the drone.
@The Jesstination - Glad you got your drone back. I've lived here for 18 years and certainly not surprised at how nice and friendly the Thais were to you. OTOH I wish dealing with the Thai bureaucracy was as friendly... and... forgiving. Like you said, the fine for flying an unregistered drone is 100,000 baht and/or jail time. The Thai government HATES drones so most of the drone laws are draconian. I've been flying drones here off and on since 2016 and have just registered a new Mini 4 Pro. I'm waiting the 2 weeks for CAAT (Civilian Aviation Authority of Thailand) to approve my application. It's a pain in the backside but it is what it is. We all know it's laid back here, but there are some offenses you don't want to get caught doing. Flying an unregistered drone is one of them. Also, breaking the Thai drone laws by flying over people or near buildings, especially government buildings, hospitals, etc. can get you in big trouble. In the future I would be very careful dear. Merry Christmas & good luck in your travels!
I was in suspense waiting and hoping you got your drone back. Thank goodness you were able to get it back. Please be careful with a low battery. Thank then lucky stars. ⭐️
I’d for sure help u. I can tell we like the same channels and I like ur vibe. Totally following you. Good luck on your adventures and success to u 🖖🏼🤙🏼✊🏼
Living solo in Asia inevitably has these moments. My first visit to Phuket and alone I rented a motorcycle and took off around the island. I stopped at a beautiful park with a big view. Returned to the motorcycle and discovered I'd dropped the keys. Retraced my steps for a hour but couldn't find the keys. I couldn't speak Thai and no cellphone. Finally decided to show my rental receipt to a groundskeeper and gesture my problem. The groundskeeper looks at my paperwork, smiles, and hands me my keys. The kindness of strangers when you are so far from home is such a wonderful thing. ❤❤
I’m solo everywhere and don’t often have these moments lol Thai people are just the kindest!!! Except at BKK airport. It’s too stressful there for them to be nice. 😫 So glad someone turned in your keys!!
I learned that same lesson the hard way but someone found it and actually made a Wechat post and returned it to me. I was super fortunate. And that funny that i watched that same video to try to find my drone. You can also find your drone with your remote. It will guide you to where it is located.
The remote only works if the maps are updated. Because I was in a different country, I had no maps. The remote screen was blank! Since the battery was dead in the drone, I also couldn’t activate the beep & flash. All I had were the gps coordinates and a good memory lol. Make sure you update your maps before flying when you travel. Glad you found yours!
@@Thejesstination Will do. It’s such a coincidence because I’m going to Thailand this coming Thursday. Phuket and then Bangkok. Video should drop before Oct. 15th concerning that. Meanwhile another video coming out before the 25th of this month lol
Yes you have to register. You can fly without the police knowing but you shouldn’t. Despite what I did in this video 🤦🏽♀️. I will never fly unregistered again.
Hi so glad you got your drone back , but you were really risking it by not having personal liability insurance plus Caat and the radio network permissions, I'd be too scared to fly my drone without having that even though it costs just over 60 pounds to get all that . Great video though , glad you had a happy ending 🙏🙏🙏.
Thanks for watching! I knew the risks and still did it. This is what happens when you’re not afraid of things 😂 I’d never do this again without registering though. Just not worth the hassle, fine, or possible jail time 🫠😂
I read that you're not allowed to fly within 30metres of buildings, near crowds and not at night. You need to make sure you comply with all the regulations if you want to fly your drone in Thailand otherwise you risk a big fine and maybe even imprisionment!!! You can take a drone to Thailand no problem but obtain your authorisations before putting in the air!!!
Seems like you didn’t watch the video because I literally said this in it. 😂 Drone laws are constantly changing so yes, everyone should check the regulations and abide by them before flying in any country. Everyone includes *me* 😊
He took time out of his day to help because Asian cultures in general value relations (關係) / community / hospitality / decency as foundations for building a stronger society. American culture is based on individualism (a.k.a., "what's in it for me?"). Thus, relationships tend to be transactional in nature. The average stranger in America is unlikely to out of their way to help a stranger for no reason / direct benefits. If they do, you may find yourself paying for their time, labor and transportation expenses.
You spelled Thai wrong and you lumped an entire continent together. The average stranger in China which is also in Asia is unlikely to help a person, especially a foreign one for no reason / no self benefit. All Asians are not the same. America is one of the most diverse countries on earth which includes millions of Asians…we are not monolithic. He helped; they helped, because they wanted to. Not because they are “Asian” 🙄
Without putting a damper on your story, Thai Drone rules ...Drones must not be flown within 30 meters (98 feet) of any person, vehicle, construction, or building. Without authorization, drones must not be flown in restricted areas. Except with special authorization, drones may not be flown within 9 kilometres (5 miles) of an airport or temporary airfield. Hope you got permission. I would hate to see you get in trouble.

Thanks Aleese! This was way better than telling you when it happened, right? 😂
Glad you got your drone back! Bangkok looks like a fabulous city. I can see why you wanted the pic of the gold Buddha.
Thank you! I was obsessed with how far it was but how clearly I could see it from the drone. 🤦🏽♀️😂
You're a great story teller, and I hope you're able to make it back to TH when the time is right.
Thanks I really appreciate that!

😂😂😂 Thank you so much!!
Your situational awareness, and room reading was on 10. No 12 was needed! You and Art just “Tom Cruised” that mission impossible. So dope
Hahaha thank you!

Very true, I will never make this mistake again! Thanks for watching and happy holidays!
Love that people want to help and refuse to take money as reward. They do it because they are kind.
Great video, glad it all went well for you!
x
Seriously the kindest people! Thank you for watching!
This was awesome. Thanks for sharing. 🙌🏽✨
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was really hoping for a happy ending. Go register your drone, Jessica. 😊😅
I'm glad you got it back! Great story!
Definitely going to register from now on!

No…I guess you missed that part in video 🙃
9:38 “so that’s how you gon do me sis” I never laughed out loud so hard, you poor soul I’d be aggravated asf

Art is the man! But he did it for you, how could he not, you’re too amazing not to leave you better off!

hai.. Do we realy have to register our drone to fly in thailand? or we can just fly without police knowing? please answer

This is too funny…love you sis
😂😂😂😘
On boy, I *"LO💚E"* your drone photos.
Then you're gonna love this video!
Live chat will not give me a keyboard. 😒
You were quite lucky no one reported you for flying a drone at night, this is not allowed in Thailand 🇹🇭 however terrific you got it back 😅
That was a wild story. Glad it all worked out and you made a new friend. I would have been done when the pack of dogs made their appearance.
Hahaha understandable!
Omg!!! It was stressful just listening to this!!!
🤣🤣🤣
thanks
You're welcome!

@bensteel3944 Quite surprising tho, the drone got through the customs.
girl, just register your drone online 😂😂😂 it’s only ฿200 😅
The only other language I hear frequently is spanish.
*"And I don't like it"* ❗️
You don't like hearing Spanish frequently?
Tip nobody ?❓️?
NVM I typed this to soon. 😮
lol... I knew people would have this question 😊
You funny😂
