HARD BOEING 747 LANDING - B747 hammering down on the RUNWAY
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 тра 2017
- Last monday I filmed a Silk Way Boeing 747 arriving at Maastricht and the pilots performed a pretty hard touchdown on runway 21 at the small airport in the netherlands. Silk Way is the newest company which will serve MST regulary. It` s the second video of a hard Silk Way landing within two weeks. You have probably seen the hard Silk Way landing at Amsterdamm.
Before visiting Maastricht I drove to Liege where I tried to film a TNT Boeing 747 cause I am not sure how long these 747`s will stay in the fleet. The first TNT 747 departed to Shanghai and the arriving TNT 747 arrived ferry from Amsterdam after maintenance.
Feautred 747 Airlines:
1.) Silk Way
2.) TNT
3.) National Airlines
4.) Centurion Cargo
5.) Martinair Cargo
6.) Yantze River Air Cargo
7.) Etihad Cargo
8.) Air Bridge Cargo
9.) Emirates Sky Cargo
Thanks for watching and see you next Sunday.

Such an incredible airframe, almost 50 years later that shape and size is is still so intoxicating you can't look away
Bobby Paluga aqk
the most beautiful and iconic plane ever made !
Still incredibly majestic on take off
Perfect description!
It's a damn sight better looking than the pig ugly A380
my dad and Grandpa helped build the first five B-52's then my dad transferred to the 707 program until the 747 program started. he helped build the first few hundred of those and and the whole family was there when the very first 747 flew, we watched it live. that was actually the second one built the first one was torture tested to Oblivion. then he finished up on 767s till he retired. awesome videos . thank you
Cool legacy, do you work for Boeing too?
Looks like CARGO planes pilots don't give a fuck
Joao Carlos Jacinto yeah cargo pilots don't give a fuck nobody's in the back to complain right
Joao Carlos Jacinto still a hard landing though.
Really, no need to be careful with whatever the crap cargo that Azerbaijan exports!
In German, there's a saying "Fracht motzt nicht, Fracht kotzt nicht." - Freight doesn't complain, freight doesn't vomit.
Your maintenance crew will tell you when they poke the undercarriage out of your wings.
Silky smooth.
HA nice :)

I never get tired watching take off& landing’s,
Dayum!
Are you airproud95? :v.
hey boi
Airforceproud95 BlOG IT
Got it sauce boss!
Hey boss
At least there’s no passengers to complain.
none to clap either.
But there's buyers to complain.
But there's glass to break...
The tires complained. The mechanics complained. I complained.
Hats off to the landing gear!
15 tons on each tire slamming into the ground at 170mph (270kmh) from a standstill, and they just take it!
Yes, I thought so as well. Fantastically made. All machines should be made to withstand the test of their purpose.
@@dianavance1137 Whoever made that landing gear should be proud of their work.
Oh wait, that's where I work. We make that landing gear, all the way from forgings to painted and ready to bolt on to the aircraft.
@@BrimHawk Awesome!! I like the work you do. I took your work and hoisted it up into the wheel wells. Wing and body gears. Rear spar to the 1340 bulkhead. Walking beams and trunnions can take some brutal punishment. The landing gear has even punched through the wing before. Took chunks out of the landing gear beams. That is one hard ass cylinder to break free of that structure and stick out the top of the wing.
@@BrimHawk It is always best to remain solid and unwavering when it comes to the most important part of aeroplanes. Always test the substances given by the companies you use before building the wheel shafts etc. There is fake substances switched where good was the norm.
That was a firm touchdown on the Silk Way. Really like Silkway, TNT and National liveries. Great selection of 747 cargo action. Enjoyed.
These are the best design aircrafts in the sky am always amazed at its beauty . They will be missed .
Queen of the skies, the iconic legendary 747
The Boeing 747 is a timeless design, beautiful from day one to present day.
The most beautiful aircraft ever designed.
The English Tongue - Maybe the most beautiful commercial airliner.
GH1618 Sorry, gotta go with the Concorde there.
The English Tongue Exactly what I was going to say.
Bullshit..
What a beautiful aircraft!! I have been on top of both wings of nearly every 747-400 ever built. I worked on the 747 line in Everett. Wing Stub Join. Wing Body Join, 840 and at times Final Body Join.
0:08 lucky bird
Errique Young oh yeah
It's quite far away from the engine, the camera angle makes it look like that
It never gets old, watching the Queen.
Nothing like seeing the queen of skies buttering the runway. Especially Nippon and Air Bridge, extra butter!
Geez... These are beautiful planes.
Silkway landed that 747 like it was 1 of their Il-76's...drop that thing on the deck like your being chased!
TNT dropped her rough too!...gotta love the sound of those Pratt's winding up.
Thanks again for the great video Cargospotter.
compteck7 ķ
compteck7 Rolls Royce RB211-524H
peanuts2105 Not a huge fan of the RB211 that was on Silkway...it was the Martinair PW 4062 and also love the GE CF6's on all the craft except Silkway and Emirates (GEnx)
Now there’s a good old fashioned roller coaster ride for ya
Have almost 10,000 hours in 747's, much as captain, and while that landing was a little firm it certainly wasn't a bad landing. Thank you for the video. Watching the takeoff's and landings was "orgasmic" for a retired pilot
Ryanair would love this pilot
Pure PUNISHMENT at 4:47-4:48! Brutal. Awesome video thanks!
Joe A Beane pilots can get a EPN employee performance notice for doing landings like that
Is there another airplane like this? I say..NO! THERE IS ONLY THIS! 747 ....THE LEGEND!!
This is 747 and air cargo heaven
Most Beautiful Plane ever made. 💯❤
OH MY ! your Vids are Crystal clear ,like your standing there watching em Come in!......FANTASTIC! .....and I'm not a plane spotter,.....but I do love the C17 which has flown a few times over my house in north London as it comes into land at R A F Northolt .
I see they they don't call her "queen of the skies" for nothing. She's majestic AF!!!
Your definitely at the right Airport, great video
Happy to see various types of Boeing planes.
The most awesome and graceful bird in any angle shot ..there is something spectacular about 747 which no aircraft can match.the body, design, frame, aerodynamics and the sheer size of that jet..A sight to behold..ALWAYS...
Over the years, the deck has grown in size. Today, the upper deck on a Boeing 747-8 is the same length as a Boeing 737. The Boeing 747-8 is the longest airliner in the world as well as one of the most recognizable because of that iconic hump.
Amazing, Awesome!! I can't get enough..... This is on my TV all /most of the Day!!! 😊
That emirates one at the end took off in no time, just shows the raw power off these girls
Probably Empty
Amazing video of the true Queen Of the Skies!
Rough landings and take offs, sounds like the cargo doesn't mind it.
Cool video.
Id assume they are given a little less restricted procedures when it comes to cargo, as their main worry is time instead of safety of passengers.
Cargo will not complain about uncomfortably handling, shocks and more G-forces.
@@adamw.8579 Oh some cargo definitely will! And so will the mechanics, owners of the aircraft itself and the airport.
Not even just talking about breaking stuff inside (likely won't happen from a landing like this...but could in some cases), but sometimes they can be carrying living animals in there. Not that I know what it was carrying tho.
Lots of very well shot video. Love seeing these magestic beasts fly in such gorgeous weather.
Silkway - The Ryanair of 747’s
2:18 that skoda does a good job showing just how massive the 747 is
Perfect landing
Emirates sky cargo trying his best to pull a wheely..
10 thumbs up. Great footage.
OMG Amazing ! Never stop thinking and watching ! How do these Pilots feel to have such control of these Aircraft ! Such power!!!!
Many 400s there, some full freighters some converted, cool to see the blocked windows on the converted ones.
Also really amazing to see those 8F ones.
Centurion did the smoothest landing.. none of the others prior to it were award winning!
I enjoyed every single second of this vdo.
Perfect vdo in many point of view like shooting timing moment angle and of course Big B 747.
Amazing landings and take offs. I enjoy watching planes take off and land. I salute the engineers for this
My first and last crush 😍
Anyone who flies the 74, slams it sometimes. Wasn't close to questioning the structural integrity of the fuselage or wings.
Great landing, king
Silkway pilots are doing a great job the last few weeks :P Nice to hear that Silkway will fly to MST more often!
Silky smooth landing 😁
Great job of capturing these beauties!
That was an OK arrival, the tires weren't popped or struts blown plus he didn't need to be towed off the runway.
Cargospotter, you're a real pro with those camera angles. Love watching your videos.
nice to see a cargo variant wearing a full set of Rollers
I made lots of tech stops at Liege. On the 747's, its all about keeping the heat down on the brakes for a quick turn. Great camera work.
wow! 22 seconds for that Emirates to rotate !!! I'm amazed at how soon they can lift off the ground. I've seen one take off from Princess Juliana in 24 secs. The last time I took off in a fully loaded 737... I swear I thought we were never getting off the ground!! I was freaking...I REALLY wanted to see Maui!!! 😎
Great filming as always, Cargospotter!! Love your work.
There are some firm landings, but no hard landings which typically would include a bounce.
Ryan Air's definition of butter
seemed smooth enough. Nice paint job on that old bird, and new air pushers too. I want one.
Beautiful aircraft ✈️
Really amazing how they correct, especially when doing a “crab” approach in bad weather or a crosswind scenario.
For Silkway….that was like butter
What a great video, love the 747 big like from me 👍
B747 is cute, I love it.
Como a física explica sustentar esse avião nos altos
E como a vida me sustenta de pé
Amazing level of detail-- thanks!
4:53 Dang! That is a loooong wingspan!!!
That bird was about to get mutilated at 1:36
I can't believe Boeing has discontinued this plane. Nothing can replace this.
Nice footage. The suspension from the first plane, absorbed it quite well.
Those are some set of shocks....
Camera work and editing made me sub. Great content. Keep up the good work!
Great video. Love B747
A very enjoyable film. Thank you
Wow beautiful
meanwhile in the cockpit: Sink Rate, Sink Rate
Perfectly good landing. The gear never exceeded strut travel, and did not leave the ground after contact. And no tires were blown. Happens like this every day all over the world.
landing flare? ain't nobody got time for that
makecba : just fly it down to the runway. Stay away from short runways.
BEAST. MODE
Brilliant compilation! Thanks for sharing.
wow great one! i was the one who filmed the hard landing at Amsterdam. its on my channel.
Sehr harte Landung
Really hard landing
Very very nice video...
BEAUTIFUL QUEEN
CARGO QUEEN
WONDERFULL !!!
A proposito não posso esquecer de contemplar e elogia esta maravilhosa e sublime máquina de voar do século" XXI "A380 e deixar o meu joinha.
Nice vid! Love the 747
martinair cargo @5:30 attacked the runway like a boss.
Great Video Cargospotter !!! Thanks so much !!!
are cargo planes used for training?
Nice....
Boeing 747: I'm queen of the sky, bitch
A380: Hold my wings....
Amazing!
Beautiful livery
None of the landings shown "hammer" the runway upon touchdown. When any heavy aircraft fully loaded lands, the hydraulic cylinders in the landing gear struts will compress faster compared to when they are lightly loaded. In fact you can tell in several of the landings, the B-747's were coming in practically empty as the struts barely compressed. This is a common event when freighters fly scheduled runs (instead of ad hoc / on demand) and are sometimes almost empty on one of the legs of the round trip. This is especially true for Russian and Middle Eastern cargo companies that will have lopsided freight revenues, strong one way, poor in the other direction.
On several takeoff's you can tell from the front landing gear strut and along with power setting used just how lightly or heavily loaded the aircraft is. When you hear only 65 - 75 take off power and the acceleration is still brisk and the front strut barely moves, it's likely flying somewhere almost empty.
This is not to say that hard landings do not occur, they do. But none of the landings, including the Silk Way landing was hammering or hard on the landing gear struts. The landing can also be affected from wind speeds which changes the amount of ground effect float. Gusty winds will always make 'silky smooth' landings almost impossible to achieve. Crosswinds are the worst but very manageable. The heavier the aircraft is loaded the better, minimizing the affects of wind changes. The lighter the aircraft is in rough air, the more difficult it will be to stabilize and correct.
I think that airplane wheels should be rotating prior to landing, in order to avoid the mechanical stress of a sudden acceleration.
@ Yes , now I know it is an old idea.
NICE SHOT!!!
