Ahhh! Can you feel the excitement through the screen?! 🎉 I've been SAFELY blow-drying my hair (no heat damage!) with the RevAir for a while, and I’m finally sharing my tips and how I use it. 🙌 Check out the caption for details-and if you've been eyeing the RevAir, now's the time! Black Friday deals are live early this year. 💞 Any questions, let me know in the comments!
This is definitely one of the best investments a natural could make. I had the original model and purchased the updated model earlier this year. I use it every two weeks and I’ve had no change to my curl pattern. I can’t imagine life without one. I prefer using my Revair over the Dyson.
@@letty4803 The revair won’t necessarily make your hair longer. But it can help with length retention since there’s no tension and less heat output than a standard blow dryer.
@@carolynlevy3786 I use two products lightly, the melanin leave in and not your mothers all eyes on me which acts as my heat protectant. On high heat I put my hair in and wait for about 40 seconds, pull it out and brush through it a couple of times to smooth it, then I put it back in for another 30 seconds, pull it out and let it rest. Once I am finished with a section I rub oil on my hands and rub it through the section and twist it up. For some reason leaving it in twists makes it even softer and smoother. It’s a bit more time consuming but the results are worth it. If I were to use a flat iron I would only need to do one pass over it I think. Hope this helps!
Yeah I need those tips too, how do you get it to look like a silk press? I've never had a silk press and I have thinner hair so I like that drying it like this makes it look thicker but I also feel like it begins to revert. Maybe I'm not using the right products
Hey Tonya, I hope you're doing well. Life has been lifeing. Unfortunately, they don't ship to Europe maybe one day, because I know I would love to make this hairdryer a part of my wash day. Your hair looks so good after blow drying it 😍 💜
Thank you for sharing this. Do we do the LCO AFTER drying with this? Do we hydrate with the liquid moisturizer first or just water, then dry the hair with this, then add the cream and butter/oil after that? Thank you! (Also bonus question: why do protein products lock hair together? Is that protein overload?)
I absolutely love the RevAir. Just used it this week because wanted to cut my own ends. Prefer using this dryer over any other I've used in the past, especially since it doesn't heat damage my hair. It's worth every penny💗
@@bernadettebenjamin232Right now, the machine is only usable in the US and Canada and if you were to purchase it and use it in the UK with an adapter, it wouldn’t work Hopefully they come out with a UK version too since there’s so many UK black girlies who could use it for sure
It landed in 2019 and they stopped making it. Thought that it would go back into production after Covid but I have been waiting since then. Regret that I didn’t get it.
I'd like to say that as well, but its been years, 5 apparently, so I'm pessimistic on how much longer it'll take while I struggle to stretch my hair🥲 another 3 years? Because they haven't given a time frame or estimated a date
Just ordered mines today 🤩 I would love to see videos talking about long term usage for length retention. Really hoping that it will help me reach my hair goals 😅
A friend of mine recently brought one. She said it has drastically cut down her wash day. I like that they do Afterpay and may invest in one next year. I will still use a heat protectant because I am cautious no matter what with heat tools.
So happy you got this tool . My husband purchased it for me for Christmas last year but I’ve been feeling skeptical because of what someone I revere here on UA-cam said . That this was a dangerous tool 😳 I’m so happy you posted this video and looking forward to your thoughts on the Revair now and also in the future!
I was just saying in a previous comment that I’m almost 2 years in using this device and my hair is thriving. There will always be skeptics lol they’re probably skeptics about using shea butter 🤣
Wow! TY for explaining the science behind this tool. I would love to try it, but i have to justify spending that much on a hair "dryer" to my frugal self, and I'm not sure i can do that r/n.
Okay sooooo... I know that this video is about the dryer, right 😂... But am I the only one who was memorized 😳😳😊 with her hair!!! 😅😅😅 Wow, that mane!! It's absolutely gorgeous. Honety!!!
Your video is so timely!! After watching your winter hair care video last week, I was thinking you should do a video on the revair and how to best use that during the dry winter months lol. I use the Revair on my daughters hair, but am concerned about maintaining moisture during the winter time. What’s the best way of doing that while using the revair?
For winter, I don't change my Revair technique, but I would increase deep conditioning and do hot oil treatments, twice a month to combat the winter dryness.
I use it weekly, since my wash days are weekly so I'd yes! Based on your hair texture it's not going to straighten your hair like a flat iron would, but if you're looking for a stretched blow out look, absolutely!
You take the hose off at the dryer and there is a round filter in there. I generally find less than a dime size bit of hair in there if even that much. There's also a little Sponge Filter on the side that I think you're also supposed to remove and check. I don't use mine frequently so probably not ready for a cleaning. It is definitely not anything that's hard to do. My hair is stretched to lengths I never imagined I had. I went natural and 2016 and have not had my hair flat iron or straightened in any way so first use of this really shocked me. It just won't stay it sort of starts reverting again and I'm sure that must be my technique which is why I want to consider learning how to use a flat iron. Don't ask why since my hair used to reverse with relaxers as well. I truly think that I was paying for something I wasn't actually getting and that I left with straight hair only because of the blow dryer, I would not allow flat ironing or sitting under the dryer and curlers
@sable7114 thanks for the reply. Because I assumed there's a filter to clean, however how do we clean the part where the hair is sucked it? If we're using heat protection products, that'll build up inside the dryer overtime. I was trying to figure out on their website but I couldn't find anything about cleaning it.
What settings are u using on the revair ( low / high/ cool) and what tension level (1-7) And how long do u leave ur hair in it? My hair comes out dry and crispy every time:( also did you use a leave-in conditioner???
Hey! All the details are in the description on what settings I use. I usually leave my hair in for 30-60 seconds and the leave in I used was the Aphogee Pro Vitamin Leave in.
@@andreamiller135 make certain it's completely detangled before you insert your hair. Do not Pump It Up and Down. Just rotate it around at the roots to get it dry and then gently slide the hair out
Thank you for this video! If you have time to answer a quick question, I own one of these and let my friend (also a haircare enthusiast) borrow it. She brought up a concern that the mechanical action of the suction could actually be damaging to the cuticle, particularly when the hair first goes into the dryer (going against the natural direction of the cuticle). In your expert opinion, is there any validity to this theory?
I've been using this technique for awhile and haven't noticed any damage, the flow of the suction goes in the direction of the cuticle, in a downward flow.
@@CurlyChemistry exactly but when you're first inserting your hair I think that's what she's talking about but my guess would be that the moisture on the, either freshly shampooed or spritzing it with water would prevent that from happening. I'm not the expert though
It's definitely an investment, but one that many find worthwhile for simplifying wash days and reducing damage. In the meantime, it’s great that you’re creating homemade moisturizers and sticking with what’s working for your hair. :-)
The company does have refurbished ones and financing and if you go to a beauty salon consider how much you spend monthly or bi-monthly to go and then stop going and do your own hair. Put the money toward the dryer. I managed to get my price a lot lower by buying during the holiday season like Tanya said and telling them I didn't want any water bottles or eclipse or carrying bag or anything like that, only the dryer ended lower the clock cost quite a bit
I’m not a fan of this dryer. It does what it needs to do, but if I want to actually style my hair after I’m done, it doesn’t hold up well. Doesn’t matter how many products with hold I use, as soon as I step outside it turns into a big afro. Now to use it to stretch to get my hair done by a stylist, perfectly fine.
And I don't know who mentioned something about having crunchy hair when it comes out so I'll just mention this here. That was how mind felt but I'm thinking it was probably the heat protectant I was using almost kind of oily or tacky so I've since purchased a liquid heat protectant and it definitely doesn't feel that way now. Since I wasn't frequent with blow-drying it is possible that my current heat protectant was just old also and that may be why it gave that result
@@CurlyChemistry does anyone use the cool shot on the dryer. I also had to start helping my mom to do her hair and she never used a dryer I was taking all of her natural curls out of her hair making it look so bushy with a regular dryer. I knew nothing about a diffuser but now I know that's what should have been used on her hair
