    The Coffee shown in this video is made by a company thats name is pronounced Roast-er-ree. As a funny story, when I first got this coffee I had to practice pronouncing the name for three days to get it right. When the day of filming came, I slipped back into my old southern self and pronounced it wrong even after three days practice!

      Ha ha ha! Awwww! Don't worry about it. I am glad you loved the coffee! When I make a pot of it, I use four rounded scoops in my ten cup coffee pot and it is always very dark. I did notice, as you mentioned in the video, it looked pretty light in the video. Maybe just the difference between percolator and coffee maker I guess. MORE IMPORTANTLY, your little stuff like that (the Roasterie mistake) is what gives you and your videos more character and makes them even more fun! Basically, keep screwing up the small stuff because if you don't do it, someone else is bound to do it for you! HA HA HA HA! J/K but on a more serious note, we love the little screw ups like that, they're so funny! And that is 'part' of what makes you a "really big monkey" :) God bless! Glad you loved the 'Rotisserie' coffee, I just hope it didn't taste like chicken! :-)

    • @Reallybigmonkey1
      @Reallybigmonkey1  7 років тому +15

      Oh I loved it! I'll state it like my mentor did. A coffeemaker is more like a "dribbler" It dribbles the hot water through the coffee grounds one time. A percolator recirculates the water/brewed water through the grounds multiple times getting all it can out of the beans. So it usually doesnt take quite as much with a percolator as with a drip brew. Oh, if screw ups is what makes me big then Im on my way to being the biggest there is! LOL.

    This is one of the most informative bushcrafters on UA-cam! He also addresses concerns. I brought up a concern about cordage hanging around your neck and he addressed it very satisfactorily. He made people aware of the hazard and that's all I asked. It's like seatbelts in a car, you're aware of the situation, how you handle it is up to you.
    Dave, I was watching this with my wife and you began talking about this and I actually got excited! Lol, I told my wife "he's talking about me"!
    You just increased my respect for you as a "teacher" ten fold my friend. I never expected to hear anything more about that.
    I really enjoy your videos Chef Dave, great idea on the table grill and I could almost smell the coffee!
    Once again thank you for your videos-

    Another great vid. Very viewer friendly. I was hooked a while back by the dakota fire pit tent- "experience is something you know right after you could have used it most" - fantastic. The greatest enjoyment though is how much you seem to enjoy making the videos. I'm not likely to make an outdoor kitchen - until maybe a scout camp in May -but your enthusiasm makes a long day at the office fade away. Thanks Dave!

    Once again, Dave, you succeed in touching the heart and soul of life's great moments: a cookout on a hand-hewn log table with sausage, oatmeal, and gooooood coffee. The only things I would've added is a pat of butter, a dollop of jam, and a little evaporated milk to the oatmeal. It's what I survived on for breakfasts my entire childhood since my folks had to get up way before sunrise and head off to work leaving me to my own devices for breakfast. Many thanks, Brother.

    • @Reallybigmonkey1
      @Reallybigmonkey1  7 років тому +1

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked ii and viewed it that way. The outdoors is a relaxing experience. Your oatmeal sounds good. As a kid, all I had was hot water and half oatmeal. I drank it with no additives. Kinda like jail food. LOL. See ya in the next one brother

    also... the chair is upside down... the pockets go at your back and the seat pocket that holds a tarp is the seat reinforcement... also its designed to be tied to two or 4 trees and is water proof canvas!!! in case people wanted to know... and I might sell them but its more of a hobby to make cool stuff than to profit from them... plus I'm not a mass produce type of person... I love small time hand made creations and companies... but thank you David for showing off my gift to you... your my BC guru... I had to share that idea with you...😊😊😊

    Another fun video, Dave. Yours are among the longest, but they don't come in bunches, so their length is just right. And I always feel like we've just had some quality time together.
    Like you, I don't like my coffee or food to be very hot. I often have to keep the waitress from refilling my cup, because it just got drinkable.
    Tell Tiffany to let us know when she's ready to make some for sale. They are really nifty, dual purpose items. That sling bag is to a day hike what a bedroll is to an overnight hike.

U give us information n by throwing something in it to make us remember it . . This video is great. And because of u I know that ur using a parang style machete. The table/shelf is a great idea. One that could last u for a while. Something for ur camp or take it down n bundle it then reuse it another time. Ur always full of such good ideas. As I always say it's a great way to start my day.. I made my first double pouch set up for my esee 3 knife sheath. Came out great for hand sewing . Can't wait to get a machine to make bigger bags n stuff. Thank again for sharing ur knowledge with us. That was a really great video. Loved watching it. The idea with the kitchen table and the grill in it, is pretty cool. Much more, than the one you made out of rope (my opinion). The sling bag is also a pretty useful invention. Especially with the ability to make a chair out of it. Nice. I think you can make such a bag also with these truck tarps (don't know the right name for it). They are heavy duty and nearly undestroyable. Have a nice day, David. All the best from Germany, Christian

      Thanks Christian, I'm glad you liked it. Oh yes, its a lot better than the rope table. This is probably the best one I know of. I know just the straps you mentioned and they would be plenty strong enough! Thanks for watching

I liked the gifts that you got .... good subs and friends!! For anyone who wants to set a fire in a bowl ...you can get large dog bowls made out of stainless steel with flat bottoms these are good if you are cooking on the ground and a small baking grill on top works well ..... atb brother .... Always like the DIY Dave! Reminds me of my old troop 41 days. With all the beetle kill here in Colorado I have on occasion gone "lumberjack" around the camp with dead standing. It sucks but better alive in the morning.
