    I absolutely love these details! Would you also be able to explain the AUG checks and trim neutral checks on startup? Couldn’t find anything in heatblur manual but would like to do them during start up after flight control checks

    • @ReflectedSimulations
      @ReflectedSimulations  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! The trim neutral check is just the crew chief checking if the stabilator is neutral when you set the trim to 0. I couldn't even find it in the official -1 manual. The Stab checks after startup are meant to verify that when you turn them on one by one, the control surfaces don't move - if they do, something is wrong with the stabs. I show this in my startup tutorial too.

      Thanks! I’ve just reviewed your start-up video and found it in there. Great to know about the trim neutral one!

    Hi Reflected, I am really enjoying the F-4E much more after seeing your tutorials and playing your single mission on Guam, however I was wondering how you setup the ATIS on Aux Ch 3 and would like to ask you to make a video on how to create it and set it up in the mission editor. Thanks, hugely appreciated

      I saw that bit, it’s why I’m asking. Was that part of the checks/for aerobatics, or a 100% “you *will* do this before getting into BFM”?

      @ReflectedSimulations  6 місяців тому +1

      @@mumblerinc.6660 yes, BFM is definitely a high g high AoA thing, so always turn the roll aug off. At high AoA you roll with the rudder only, and if you have the roll aug off it’s gonna fight you.

    So when ever wing tanks were fitted, you had to perform an A2A before your mission? That’s harsh and further proof, if proof be needed, that I’d suck as a fighter pilot as I can’t A2A for crap

    • @ReflectedSimulations
      @ReflectedSimulations  6 місяців тому +1

      No, always. If you had wing tanks you waited until they were dry, and then did the check.

    Scramble all jets! Troops in contact need immediate help. Hey, wait, let's all do our RIG Checks first. Otherwise our planes may not strafe and bomb correctly. Gimme a break. RIG Check. Sounds like something for the post-maintenance check flight pilot to perform before the bird goes back on the line.

      Like you don't have 30 seconds between takeoff and engagement? I didn't make this up, it's coming from official manuals and squadron publications.

    • @APenRopeApina
      @APenRopeApina 6 місяців тому +2

      Not every mission is a scramble. And this doesn't sound too much more hassle than a G-warm maneuver. Or fence in checks. Or after take off / cruise checks. Or battle damage checks / fence out cheks. Ore before landing checks. There are lot of procedures involved in real ops , that not many are aware of. Of course the priorities change if you are suddenly jumped by MiGs. But then again, you then hope that you have a fully functional airframe and you are warmed up for pulling G...

      Scramble jets had all ground checks done in a prestart. Then they would shut down and stay on external power. I also dont think they would have wing tanks since they would be launched for close range air interception. And yeah the rig check would be quick to perform. Fly wing level and check. The aug check too especially if you turn off the roll aug before combat
