I own one of this model, and I ride about 300 miles per week, usually all of it on Saturday or Sunday. I wear my N100-5 a lot. Mine is a Large Oval size, and it perfectly fits my size 7- 3/8's inch head. Very comfortable for many consecutive hours wearing. The top vent is hard to open, yes, but at speed there is good airflow from it right onto the part of your forehead that is covered by the foam, so that is great. Rear helmet exhaust works quite well, too. The main clear visor never fogs up. The helmet does squeak a little bit when the helmet is being handled, but it never makes a sound when being worn while riding. Its a very good modular helmet. A little more wind noise than I want, so I wear cheap silicon earplugs and they are great. Ordered several off Amazon for about $3 each. Shade visor is plenty big enough. The shade mechanism works well and it always works. I accidentally pushed my shade up into the helmet one time, and it seemed broken, but I got it back in the down position somehow and released it properly via the retraction button, and it resumed normal operation. I like it a lot, and bought a second one used from a guy and ordered a new liner for it. New liner is on the way and I will have two great helmets. Enjoy yours.

Top vent: There is a depression/ridge at front of vent cover that is used pulling rearward to open vent. There are 3 rubberized ribs on top of cover that close vent when pushed forward.
For my head shape, which is pretty standard, the Medium fits me really well (58cm, as measured) and internal sun visor is well placed providing good coverage.
I have this helmet and I would not recommend it. The vents cannot be operated with gloves on. Start the ride with them all open, closing isnt a problem then while riding but you will have to stop and remove a glove to open them again. Releasing the catch to open the chin bar takes some getting used to finding and operating, but once the techniqe is found its OK. The biggest problem I have...watch the video carefully and you will see the padding protrudes beyond the bottom edge of the helmet, in heavy downpours as I have experienced water then runs down on to the padding and capillary action then takes the wet inside the helmet, mine is still damp after over two days. So fine in good weather good protection and the N Com system fits well but I would not have bought this had I realised its drawbacks. I would give it 3 /5 personally.
I have had my N100 for the past four years. Because of an impact, I am replacing it with another N100. I haven't found another helmet as comfortable and easy to use as this make/model.
My first helmet was this one's predecessor - the N104 EVO. I found it to be comfortable but noisy (I wear earplugs though), and very squeaky. In fact all of the nitpicks in this video were basically the same as for the old helmet. Since the internal shape has changed I will have to look elsewhere for a intermediate oval now.
Just got the xxxl today in matt black. First lid. Very expensive but only got 1 head.
Just got the plus version and right off the bat it is super comfortable and the best fitting helmet out of the box, I've had yet. When the front is locked down, there isn't any squeaking - seems solid. Nolan/x-lite have the best hinge system in the business - 100% in Sharp testing across the line - part of that is the 2 part release. No one else has this consistency. The chin strap also has a 2 part release.
Haven't ridden it in anger yet, but looking forward to it. Totally agree: one more shell size would be nice - I am a large and there is a little bit of bobble head going on - might have to break out some 80s shoulder pads....no. But in the flip front world, this is a mid price, so you can't have it all.
I've owned this helmet for almost three years, and it's not changed a bit.
My biggest problem with it - and it is a big problem - is that the modular chinguard doesn't always lock perfectly into place and I've had it swing up without warning and completely block my vision with my head turned sideways to the wind. Would recommend looking elsewhere.
It should not do that. I would complain even though its 3 yrs old. It could get you killed. I had a Scorpion that would jam leaving a small slot to see through. They said they had fixed it but hadnt. Eventually they took it back and I exchanged for a HJC and I havent looked back.
Very surprised this happens , I currently use this helmet and it’s well used almost 4 years old now and it locks with a very positive click , it has happens once or twice that it didn’t lock but that was because instead of pulling down the chin guard I just nudged it with my head a bit noisy but that honestly depends on what you ride , behind my adv windshield it’s pretty good, I’m a bit biased they are made in my hometown but still a good helmet , I was out shopping for some moto gear just today and tried a few others from other manufacturers and they are far worse at this price point , also surprised it’s only DOT rated , mine bought in Italy is dot and ece
I never can afford this helmet because little high and I do drive a Italian motorcycle and now on sale I might get it now!

Quietest when others made you go deaf after 90 all day for 1700 miles non stop Florida to Mpls.
Like the HTC crap, My first modular, and would give it away. If you have military hearing damage with high pitch noise 24/7, The Nolan is your only hope.
Over 60 years cruising, We don't have time to dink around with garbage.
If you had to buy a new helmet today, what brand and model would you get?

The vents are ridiculously tight, also the chin is very short, it touches your chin, poor enough design.
Considering the fact that a large portion of Italy has been sold to China - this helmet could ( and probaby is ), actually, be made by Chinese ! - not that the, most of pure, Italian products, shine with outstanding quality....
I heard China just bought your family - better go check.
Yes comfortable but noisy and also the inner visor gets stuck. Actually a waste of money.
Thru will all squek its foam n plastic...more air flow means noise
