    Nolan’s N100-5 and its posher-lined sibling, the N100-5 Plus, are well worth considering before you splash the cash on a premium flip-up helmet. Our video will tell you all you need to know (well, we hope it does!)
    This is the second publication of this video. The first time we missed out the section that covered the visor. Oops.

    Really good review, and the only review I've managed to find that actually describes and shows the difference between the standard 100-5 and the plus, so thank you!

    I already have an HJC modular, ICON airflite, Bell 3/4 and a Shoei Snell rated lid, recently bought this Nolan, the only one I wear. Riding at freeway speeds with the chin bar feels just like my 3/4 and having the option to close it when I want is so great

    I own an N 100-5 and it's one of my favorite lids.

    Ive had the plus version for 3 years now, and yes its a heavy lid, and would buy another one when required

    Thanks for the great review. This is just what I have been looking for. I order the N100-5 Plus along with the ESS and audio system. Can't wait to get riding in a month. Have fun and keep the rubber side down.

      Just received my N100-5 Plus and ESS/Audio system today and WOW, is it ever comfortable. Even just wearing it in the house it is much quieter than my LS2 helmet. Fit is dead on the measurements given on the Nolan website. Quality feels fantastic. Makes my LS2 feel like the budget helmet it is. I'll install the ESS/Audio system one evening this week and see how that works. Even just powering it up in the box felt good as the ESS light is really, really bright.

    Awesome review- just bought it and still convinced a good deal at sub £200, now a clearance item but a golden nonetheless 👍

    Excellent video. My question is, does the N100-5 plus come with a breath guard? Really enjoy your video reviews. Thankyou.

      No breathguard with this one, and Nolan don't list the helmet as being prepared for one. It's relatively rare to get a breathguard in a flipfront, presumably because it increases the clearance required as the chinbar slides over the shell. Shame really, as I do like a breathguard to hide as much face as possible! Thanks for the kind comment about the reviews, and for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    How would you say this compares to the Caberg Duke 2? Which is a better helmet? Thanks

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 роки тому

      Usual caveats apply - the better helmet for you is the one that fits best. That being equal, the Nolan has a considerably higher quality of build and finish (at list price it costs twice as much). Thanks for getting in touch. Cheers, Tony

    Is this helmet suitable for a intermediate or long oval head? I find the HJC and Shoei to tight across the top of my forehead !

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 роки тому

      Nolan don't quote such things (like most manufacturers). My suspicion is this is best suited to round or regular oval heads, but it's best to try one to find out for sure. Cheers, Tony

    Can you fit the plus liner in the other model?

    Hi...
    I have the Cardo pack talk bold jbl sistem.
    You said it's to big.? Have to open the hole.?
    Regards

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  2 роки тому +1

      Yes - the speaker is 40mm in diameter and the hole is less than that. I wouldn't recommend opening the speaker recess out on any helmet, but it'd be particularly tricky with Nolan's set-up as the hole isn't in the protective EPS liner, it's in a plastic section near the ear. Thanks for getting in touch and I hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
