@@mo0semustdie and besides shame shouldn’t be put into using autotune, some people have shaky or out of tune voices like that and they can’t fix it no matter what
@@phasemontonyThat’s called being a bad singer. That’s like saying a guitar player should play to tracks live, because you have extreme arthritis. If your not fit to make music the natural way don’t do it.
As a classical singer who's finally understanding vocal and body technique in my performances, I have no issue with autotune in music. Pop music isn't usually about having artists be like Freddie Mercury with a godly voice, but making the next big hits with catchy hooks that're pleasing to the ear, like with rap from Lil Nas X or soothing vocals from Billie Eilish. The genre isn't targeted towards a full resonant vocal singer, and that's ok. I'd recommend Daft Punk for those who wanna hear autotune that's used thematically and stylistically(since they're literal robots). Mainly Interstellar 5555, with Digital Love or Something About Us
The fact is that the genre targets almost completely the fucking music market cause most of the money is in that. But fortunately they keep paying astronomical bags to singers like Beyonce rather some gangsta 'we gonna fix it then with pitch correction'
Listen sir, you don’t understand that music is an art. Autotune takes away emotion, it takes away the art, especially when all the lyrics that are written by a guy from Sweden repeat every 30 seconds. But Daft Punk IS fine, since the technology is the whole purpose of the genre.
@@TheChimichanga-br4uu First, you need a DAW. FL Studio is great for beginners (and has a pretty good autotune plug in included!) But Antares Auto-Tune is usually used for this. Some reverb and EQ is good too, and expensive plug-ins aren't needed for that mostly.
Just a reminder for y’all, autotune itself doesn’t compress and eq your vocals and add compression, delay and reverb. So don’t shy away if your vocals don’t transform to that level of effectiveness just by tuning them
I used WAVES LT manual auto-tune plugin for awhile and never got it sounding natural. I hate when it doesn't sound natural. On the positive note (se what i did? 😉 ) i had to, get a little better at singing instead. I am singing pretty bad, and recording & mixing even worse, but find the imperfections quite charming nowadays. Would love a auto-tune for live performaces thou. Is waves just old and bad and the newer, kind of out of my budget ones much better? I cant read notes so mostly keep it at Chromatic scales.
This is not really encouraging songers to improve their vocal control. This is just telling them that they can sing as badly as they want and just fix it later. Not much skill or talent is needed to sing with autotune.
I disagree. A good singer just sounds that much better with a little autotune. A bad singer sounds better, but they'll never achieve what a good singer can.
@@yawns3004 My point was that with autotune, even a lazy singer can sound good enough to obtain a following with little to no effort while some good singers who actually practice struggle to get a following.
It’s going to be really crazy when a computer can make a natural sounding voice. Singers will hate it but record labels will love it cause they won’t need a singer at all to make music. They’ll basically be to create deepfake vocals or songs if they want but I could totally see them using it to make popular songs for people to stream or pay someone to lip sing there computer made vocals. There are already programs where you can talk and make ur voice sound like anyone you want, Cartman, Morgan Freeman, presidents like Bush, Biden, Trump, and some others, Jack Nicholson, and many many other people. It’s becoming insane what can be done. I don’t know how we will be able to trust anything when deepfakes become indistinguishable from reality.
The problem with auto tune that I don't see people talking about is that sometimes it's a style for music, like some genres of metal have to have really slow and un-intense drumming that's rly easy and can be played by anyone. And then there's the genres like thrash and death metal that require extremely intense drumming and needs a lot of talent. However if you listen to any death metal song you'll realize that the drumming isn't perfect because it doesn't have to be. There's no need to time align every single drum hit because the drummer is already doing an amazing job, with a lot of takes, and is putting in their best effort. Auto tune isn't a style if it's a crutch. If you can't sing, you should practice and get better and improve your talent, you shouldn't take massive short cuts like this because it's always apparent, you will always be able to hear auto tune, and I absolutely fucking hate it. It sounds like shit. It makes you a shitty producer and I hate how normalized this kind of shit is. I will never support auto tune for any reason at all. Another reason why I don't like a lot of other genres, there's so many fucking shortcuts that are relentlessly used, for the only reason being because you can't sing. If you can't stay in tune, join a deathcore band, practice the screaming techniques and do the unpitched screaming style, that can go with any key of any song. Do the genre that your able to do, you can still make hiphop or trap or whatever, but if you can't sing or rap then just don't. Get someone else to do it, stop using a pirated version of auto tune, and just put in some actual fucking effort.
You are using a bad comparison. If you are making a rock song, anyone can pick up a standard guitar, tune it properly, and with enough time and practice learn to play a song well or create a new song. We are not all born with the same vocal cords, there is no standard vocal cords and some will be gifted with good vocals and some bad. Even with 50 years of practice some people simply will never be able to sing good or sound like the weekend.... your voice might not even be able to hit any high notes period. A better example would be if you had a guitar with 2 strings missing and a limited amount you can tune the remaining strings. I was not a huge fan of autotune, esp when it was overused in rap songs, but I can see why it is a good thing in general for musicians who want to use it to modify their voice to sing properly. It is just another tool or instrument musicians can use, just like a synth can imitate a whole bands worth of musical instruments and it can sound great. Makes more sense for a musician to use autotune to make their own vocals for a song they wrote then to make a song and have someone else sing it (unless they want to feature a singer ).
I feel this is good for those who do DJ stuff an wanna sing but don't think there good but could improve using this an Use There pitch correction n such mixed in with synth waves an i can do a remix beat kinda thing idk I'm no expert here
