Let’s make art literally changed my life. I didn’t know i was a painter until i used them. Now i paint commissions a year and a half later. I do more of my own stuff now. Let’s make art is a very special company and we used all three kits for about 20 months. My daughter wanted to switch to palletful as she felt she was ready to start making her own projects too and their young artist box is amazing. Thanks for the video!! I have been looking at getting a subscription box for a while and ScrawlrBox seems to be the most attractive to me. (And I bought those very same Derwent watercolours because I saw it in one of these videos.) Unfortunately, the US boxes are too expensive for me because of the added cost of shipping and customs fees as I live in the UK. I have in the past bought things from the US and found that the customs fees generally make what you buy cost twice more than it should if the same could be bought from a UK supplier. Not sure what it is like for other countries outside of the US and Canada, but I thought I'd mention that for people who are thinking of buying. And I would add that I love the Graphitint colours as they are muted in comparison to the bright ones that you normally get with watercolours. They look like that they will do atmospheric landscapes, wildlife and nature scenes really well and that it was attracted me to getting them.

Every time I get a couple boxes in a row that I'm not necessarily interested in (though the products are excellent) and consider trying a different box suddenly I start getting boxes that are right up my alley. Art Snacks Plus and Paletteful Packs Premiere are both the most similar to Smart Art in my opinion. Call customer service and report your damaged pencils and request replacements! Asked them to put packing instructions how to pack your pencils for shipping.
I have done that with Blick, it says on my account now that all pencils should be packed with extra care. Sadly I received some Derwent Pastel Pencils that were damaged since having the note on my account, but they immediately made it right. I love working with companies that care about customer service and take care of the artists that spend their hard earned money with them. This is good advice! I have found out it's always worth taking a few minutes and reaching out, most of the suppliers of professional grade art supplies do care about the quality and condition of the supplies we are receiving and will make things right. Derwent and DickBlick are two companies I know I can trust and there are a few others that have certainly earned my loyalty because of their responses when I have had to make a call. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@ClarkFineArt you are welcome. From personal experience, Blick’s goes above and beyond to make things right. I wouldn’t want to be the packer not following written instructions on an order…..I can hear them at their new position asking “Do you want fries with that?” And I bet they don’t ignore this customer!
Thing is, I'd pay $20 to $30 a month for any of these...as long as I didn't pay S&H. Where I live, that's the deal breaker. I can count on S&H being about half or more the value of the box (e.g., if it's $35/mo... I'd be paying $50+ per box). .. So...anyone know of any of these that offer FREE S&H? I live in Canada, so even just Canada based I'd be cool with.

It’s things like this that made me want to curate my own collection of supplies vs getting a subscription box I have no control over. It’s so disappointing when you spend money and get things you either have no interest in or in the case you described are below par.

What would really help is pricing boxed items, the subscription costs and shipping. This would narrow the decision based upon individual interest, experimentation experience and actual interests?! Thanks for your videos very helpful.
Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for commenting.
Let's Make Art is fantastic, I cannot say enough about them.
amazing video on these 😍
Thank you ☺️
of course and its helped me figure out which one i want
@@ZaiyaFineArt excellent! I definitely have a favorite now. I hope you love the one you have chosen!
I would love to subscribe to the watercolor box...I love the concept and the projects, but they only ship single project boxes...no subsciption boxes...to Germany and only at abnormally high prices 😭
International shipping makes it tough. That is the only reason I don't subscribe to ScrawlrBox. I would love to get their box, but the shipping is half the cost of the box added on top, to get it to the US from the UK. I love their boxes though.
@@ClarkFineArt I browse every few month on Scrawlr-Box'es homepage/in their shop and order my favortive boxes together. After a while they also set some on sale...so...all in all it's less expensive than a subscription outside the uk. You only pay one time for shipping and taxes...today my latest order arrived
Did your hear from upcrate box? Shipping is for free worldwide...I am a subscriber for over one year and I love it. And the price is fine for what you get
I have not, but I do need to look into them!
@Das A-Team I see that they offer a "refer a friend" link. See if you can pull yours up, since you have been subscribed for so long and send me your link, I would love to be sure you get credit for sharing the information about this box with me! It looks like it will cost about $25 - 26 USD depending on the current exchange rates and with free global shipping, I would love to give this one a try and share the information with my viewers. UA-cam may not let you share a link to the comments, if it doesn't, you can send it to me via my facebook page facebook.com/clarkfineart or preferably if you are on MeWe, you can message me over there via my page mewe.com/p/clarkfineart
@@ClarkFineArt Oh I didn't know that. I'll try that. You'll get also 15% off the first order then...cool
@@ClarkFineArt I found your mail adress on facebook and used it to send you an invitation. Maybe you can tell me if it works?
@@kreativeReise yes I just saw an email pop in! Thanks I will be looking at this next week.
I wouldn’t want to be the packer not following written instructions on an order…..I can hear them at their new position asking “Do you want fries with that?” And I bet they don’t ignore this customer!
it's basically gambling for artists
Thing is, I'd pay $20 to $30 a month for any of these...as long as I didn't pay S&H. Where I live, that's the deal breaker. I can count on S&H being about half or more the value of the box (e.g., if it's $35/mo... I'd be paying $50+ per box).
..
So...anyone know of any of these that offer FREE S&H? I live in Canada, so even just Canada based I'd be cool with.
You could check out upcrate, free international shipping. They are out of Germany
@@ClarkFineArt Really? :) Thanks! I'll check 'em out for sure!
@@plumfun6750 yes! Another viewer suggested them to me, I have only received a couple (a video will be coming) but they did have free shipping! I believe that is globally! Fingers crossed you will also see free shipping when you look into them. www.upcrate.art
@@ClarkFineArt Gonna do that tonight or tomorrow when I have some time.
I live in the Yukon Territory, in northern Canada, btw.
I just got my first scrawler box..what a bunch of crap! Waste of money! Was, for me , $35CND for childrens crayons , a small pad of newsprint, garbage, a pencil and one marker! Sooooo disappointed! I will be spending my money on something worthwhile. Oh and stupid candy..like who needs that! A 6 yr old would like this box.
It’s things like this that made me want to curate my own collection of supplies vs getting a subscription box I have no control over. It’s so disappointing when you spend money and get things you either have no interest in or in the case you described are below par.
