How lovely amanda, loads of new art goodies and the fact they were your grandma's must be really lovely, everytime you touch them you know she touched them too
I watched most of this last week, but I was sleepy and kept nodding off so I needed to rewatch it. So I did, just now. You had a wonderful relationship with your grandma. I always wanted one. I am glad you have such wonderful memories. As for what supplies to use, I don't have an opinion. I will enjoy watching it.
Wowww! How neat that you and the other family members can share in these art goodies from your Grandma! I must applaud you on going through all the boxes at once!
It had to be done this time, lol. It was just too many to spread out - I'd never in my life get through them. Plus it was so much fun and brought back so many good memories!
Oh wow, that's a lot of subscription boxes. Never feels like that much when you get each month, but seeing them all spread out like that is humbleing. Had fun recognizing boxes I had received. (the round watercolor paper is sooo nice, and the tri wedge brush that came with it is so fun for making flower petals)
So many boxes and you're absolutely right - it is humbling to see it all together. Makes you re-think the subscription idea. I think, though, that if you're good at trying the products out right when you get them and then can make a decision if they will work for you, you can either put them away, use them up, or gift them right then and there. I think that would help a lot. But who am I to talk? I still have a few unused boxes... Hahaha!
If you’d like to, and when you are ready, I’d love to see more of your grandmothers work and hear more stories about how you both shared the love of art together ❤ seeing all of the supplies in each box that totally made sense to her was so much fun!
That thumbnail is the best! 😂 Wow, what a huge amount of arty goodness. Enough to fill an art shop, lol. It was so much fun to see all of the supplies that came in the boxes. ❤
It definitely makes me re-think art subscription boxes. Granted, this was several years of boxes, but still - this means you would either have to really USE your supplies otherwise you'd have to find a home for all of these every month - yikes! It's fun to be introduced to new supplies, however. That's how I found Brusho and alcohol inks, which I really enjoy.
Omg that is a lot of boxes. I think I have a few of the older boxes I had bought way after they came out that I haven't used yet. But mine are like 4. Would love to see you try the art Graf.
@@MirandaWatsonArt I have tried this -- it IS squishy, it's graphite putty. I thought it looked gimmicky, but then someone said it was super therapeutic and I bit. It is therapeutic, but VERY VERY DIRTY. Prepare to make a mess. I started keeping a pack of wipes next to me while using messy supplies :) It is gimmicky but, what I think it would be excellent for is a graphite background for a large pencil drawing. Not exactly your thing. But maybe a graphite background for something else. I noticed the part I kept in the original package is still soft, but I put some in a regular sandwich bag and it's dried rock hard now. I should use the rest soon!
Wow! That is a lot of boxes! So many incredible supplies! I have not subscribed long enough to have 39 boxes.. but I do recognize a couple of the boxes I have gotten.
Definitely a fun video. I enjoy it so much that I would pause it when I had to do something..so I would not miss anything. I also liked that if I want to purchase any past boxes I would know what they look.lije before arrival. So much art supplies 😍 that's so nice. Enjoy them all!
Thank you. I opened them very quickly but it still took nearly an hour - wow! I'm hoping they'll be plenty left to do a giveaway on the channel, but we'll see. 5 people is a lot to split them between. :-D
Yes; fun and it will be fun for you to use - and more ways to feel your grandmother with you. Glad you plan to share on your channel....all of it is what I want you to use first :p The girls in your family will be delighted to have some of her art supplies too
Hahaha, all of it might be a tall order. You'll see what I plan to concentrate on first in the full video after this one. I'm excited to try so many things!
Oh wow that was fun to watch, I’d be in art supply heaven if I got to open up all that fun stuff at once, so I will live vicariously through this video. I would love to see you paint something with the Derwent water soluble graphitint. Or the liquid graphite. Oh gosh who can choose just one thing? Whatever you choose will be enjoyable to watch. Maybe make a wheel of fortune spinner with the supplies written on it and let fate decide.
Wow. This makes me happy and sad also. So many supplies to be overwhelmed by. I think you should play with the watercolors first. The detwent would probably fit into any derwent pallet. Good luck . I think your family will have fun going through it all.
Thanks, Jen. Yes, I'm always drawn to the watercolors first. I just love them! I know what you mean about happy and sad. She opened all these boxes but didn't use very many of them to their full advantage. I wish she would have because now she can't. :-( But good memories come from these boxes as we opened many of them together, so that's nice.
To paraphrase: what a lovely bunch of coconuts...I probably would be still playing with them if I opened that many boxes with that much variety, from the day I got them! Must be bittersweet, to have all of those materials and the memories mixed together. Your grandmother sounds and seems like she was a great person. Anyway, I'd be interested in seeing something utilizing the charcoal watercolors. That intrigues me, the intensity and granulation. I've only been playing with watercolors for a little while now and I find them very interesting and frustrating. Sometimes separately but mostly together. My oil paint experience wants to paint watercolors in similar fashion despite many feeble protests from my braincell. I'll get it together someday. And the crayons look like they need exploring... ;-D Cool video. Thank you for sharing this!
It is definitely bittersweet. I agree - the charcoal watercolors are intriguing, and I can't wait until I have the time to start playing with all these goodies. Those are high on the list, that's for sure. Hahaha, that's funny about trying to paint with watercolors the same as oils, but I definitely know what you mean! Thanks for watching this long video!
My favorite boxes were the ones where she'd made artworks. It's always a little sad to see unused art supplies. Makes me realize I need to work on using up some of my own supplies vs being so precious with them.
That's a lot of goodies. Some people in your family are going to enjoy them, too. The large dark pans (I forgot the name) and th Sennelier's ink pen would be interesting to check out. Have a good weekend, Miranda.
don't apologise for things as cat hair all over your sweater 🤭 it only shows you had a good cuddle time with a cat to me that gives only positive vibes 😊
Oooh as to what is like to see you use first is the Artgraf water soluble graphite putty 😊 I’ve wanted one for awhile but it’s way expensive and I’d like to see if it’s worth the price and see what you can do with it. 😊
Too much stuff, really, lol. I don't exactly have storage for it all, but hopefully the girls will take quite a bit (with a few exceptions you'll see in today's video release) and then we can gift the rest. I do have a few neat shelves from my grandma's house that will fit in the closet here in my art studio that will help me organize a few more supplies, but I don't really want to have more than I could use up in a lifetime, even though that's probably not possible. I'll try, though!
Oh wow, that actually looked like my pile of sub boxes for awhile hahaha! I didn't "officially" play with anything, so I left it all in the boxes (Sketchbox, Paletteful Packs Premier, and ArtSnacks Plus and Regular... I did unpack my Let's Make Art Watercolor project boxes tho). I was planning a sketchbook for the whole lot, swatch and piece of art glued in going by date, and didn't want to search through all my supplies or forget what colors I got for same supplies I already had (I looking at you ArtSnacks giving different colors hah). Too many boxes! I did unpack everything and place in big zippie bags, labeled, and put in a new plastic drawer tower thing. It's full and now I've got a few new boxes piling up again. I need a art sub box intervention!!! Hahahaha BTW, those Sketchbox art crayon things ARE Marabu brand art crayons in new metallic colors. Sketchbox worked with them to make the plastic holder slimmer to be easier to handle.
Yes, I've also had a bit of backlog of boxes - until I started my YT channel! Then I actually started to use them and then put them away where they belonged or gift them. I still have a very small collection of unused boxes that I did start a video for back in July but haven't finished it yet. I really need to get back to that... Anyway, good idea about the zip bags. Now, go and USE your supplies, LOL! Good luck!
That third box had sooooo much paper wow! This was oddly satisfying, and in that near the end paletteful packs box those are two of my fav DS watercolor colors, you’ll enjoy those!😊🎃🎉 You’re so close to 3k!
Yes, some of these come with a surprising amount of paper. Good to know about the DS colors - thanks! Yes, getting close to 3K. Much more slowly than others, but that's just fine. :-)
That deep green is more of the Acryla Gouache! Good thing it DIDN'T go in your palette! Although, you did get some very nice colors -- that blue with the funny name, Myosotis Blue or something -- I'm almost sure that's from the newer Iridori line - you know, the ones they put in the seasonal boxed collections. And I think there were quite a few of them!
Aren't those gouache colors so pretty? I can't wait to try them out. I was trying to remember from Becky's videos if they were included - and since I think she has the complete collection, I assume they were. So excited to see what they look like!
@@MirandaWatsonArt She does feature those colors in her video, I'm sure. I think that blue with the funny name is a gorgeous pastel, and then it looked like they also sent an ochre, a carmine and a deeper blue. LOVELY 😍 I will definitely be excited to see you try those!!
Was a cool video. I had so much fun using the ecoline markers (did u know they are refillable?) so it was a good reminder to use them more often. Have a safe trip.

I'm not sure about your first question, but hopefully someone will see it and be able to answer for you. I don't personally have a stand-up tripod, so I'm afraid I'm not going to be much help there, either. I usually find a place to sit - a rock or a lawn chair or portable stool. Your clipboard idea is a good one, though, and something I've thought about doing myself. I would just screw a tripod mount on the clipboard and use the really big office clips for my sketchbook and paint set.
Thanks, but it isn't helpful for me to see multiple months combined into one box because I'm trying to compare the different companies and obviously those aren't representative of what they offer.
