@@JAILClostedSarahAdamSFamilies lmao you’ve got a problem with a fact that people in general have crappy music tastes that’s why they don’t know about this video?
Ive always loved this song/video(which was released i think in 1999). It is sad that without you tube there would be no possibility to see this piece of art again.
God, I can still remember the impression from watching this for the first time many years ago... Never forgot this video. Too bad there's no better quality.
YEss i dont understand why is this video difficult to find in full length. I am a girl an was totally hypnotized by that shadow figure. After 15 years i finally found the song in youtube. IT marked me. I love it.
I remember my family didn't understand me as being African American why I loved this band, they would not buy me this album, so I tried to steal it from Best Buy when I was 13 n got caught, n was asked to leave the store, I finally saved enough allowance money n I bought this album n Underworld "Beaucoup Fish" album.😂 Great times
Honestly, I prefer this track to have that subtle, ambient train than without it. It feels like it matches the tempo of the song perfectly, while still providing that dark-like mood.
I used to commute every day between Hammersmith and Barbican. Somehow I can related to this videos... I don't think the carts have changed at all since this was filmed.
I read Your comment about two months ago.....You had pretty strong impact on my approach to life with it, especially on approach to party, to stop act like i was teenager (i'm 31) Thanks Man!!
I remember watching this video once or twice back in the late 90s or early 2000s on...MTV. At the time I was quite fixated on all these electronica and trip hop acts coming from the UK (and I still somewhat am as anyone who goes thru my favorites can infer). Just recently found out it was UNKLE whom I only remembered for Rabbit In Your Headlights. By the way, that girl must now be in her late 30's or early 40's but I bet she must still be hot as ever, but what the heck is it with that deus ex machina end of the vid? Kinda ruins it.
Roman Ruiz You're right, there is no "deus ex machina" ending, I think the original poster misunderstands what it means. Rather than having the problem suddenly resolved at the last minute, the bad thing happens without being stopped, and we know it's going to happen when the dark hooded thing appears on the station 2 minutes in, so it's hardly a late surprise.
Yup, might have misused the term. It's just that the end is smthn I wasn't quite expecting, it seems as if it doesn't follow the overall narrative of the story. Go figure, it's another music video that tells a random story.
***** no, it completely makes sence: girl wasting time partying, everyone left earlier and went another route, she left alone, then she remotes the tape - her time, can't escape the fast running train..Unkle has another clip that can be linked to that theme - burn my shadow
you don't want to go there, let me lead you by the hand you don't want to be there over sea and onto land, as i look into your eyes i pay no mind i found a way to get inside you....i give you peace of mind....
as i look into your eyes i pay no mind i found a way to get inside you...i give you peace of mind i might see you falling beautiful i don't see you falling.....beautiful
It’s 2023 and still my favorite album by UNKLE is Pseynce Fiction. Timeless music
Same!!

One of my favourite albums of all time... Introduced to by a guy called Darren at a virology study group in late 90s. Thanks Darren!

Remember recording MTVs AMP on the vhs and watching it that morning. Amazing song.
This should have millions of views. What is wrong with people?
Exactly

The moral of the story is... that it's just a video for a dope ass song.
That's a very awesome and creative interpretation! -Team DJShadow.com

These two work so well together. Need to hear more tunes like this.

Up there with FEAR as Ian Brown's finest solo moment.

Music knows no boundaries, I was a white suburban English kid listening to hip hop and electro in the early 80s.

As I look into your eyes I pay no mind... I found a way to get inside ❤... I give you peace of mind"

Wonderful. I wasn't going to watch it all because my heart was beating in fear for the girl. The zazoolious info relaxed me.

I'm in my late forties and I'm still as hot as ever... Summer in Oz...
I really don't see where the "deus ex machina" ending is.

Wasn't the album-cut version of this track much longer with an extended instrumental/non-vocal passage?
MTV Subterranean brought me here.
Makes sense! She keeps walking faster and faster, and then she gets on a train.
@altgovzen I agree. It may be about excess, but you can find excess without partying !
2:14 Dj Shadow? :)
2:34 "Baggins...Shire..."
Youre missing the "doing drugs" part right after your don't enjoy life
@zazoolious What a hilarious overinterpretation:D
I've seen people like that coming back from raves. I always quit when I was done, some people come back looking like corpses.
Nebestumk:)
Мистическая песня

Two men walking with a girl in the beggining symbolize protectors or parents.
A mysterious hooded creature symbolizes the death.
Railway is the life.
