They kicked Zach to the curb, went slowly downhill with their Treehouse album, but then plummeted into a forgotten nostalgic memory for 7 years. These new tracks, other than Drift, sound like Treehouse part 2 or something less than their Treehouse album. If they want to get in the water again, then they're gonna have to show us a cannonball with a big splash. They can't come back with pool floaties on and expect to take off swimming at top speeds.
Idk how I know this, but the universe is telling me that this song specifically is one of the ISS songs that Devin relates to the most. The video, etc. just seems very genuine and organic in its presentation, including Devin's presentation of it.

I also wanted to leave a comment stating that the fans that have been here from 3D and have left since Treehouse released, ya'll realize that they were all roughly 18-19 when they formed ISS right? Devin is 31 years old now, his likes and dislikes have changed so much since then. His fashion sense has changed, hell even his taste in women has changed. Devin and the rest of the band have changed a lot because they GREW UP. They're not going to keep the sound that they had back in the 3D and End of the World days and the band does NOT regret letting go of Zach. Zach was toxic to the band's growth and mental states, the band is doing much better now that he's gone. The fans that have been here always understand that growth happens in music and the ones that left before they could even witness the newer music just are either gonna listen to their old sound until the band decides to wipe the albums off their streaming platforms and just redo the albums that Zach was in and then ya'll STILL gonna whine and complain. I'm actually looking forward to them redoing the older albums without Zach with their newfound sense of sound, it would probably sound better without Zach's vocals imo.
