I think I play him a little safer in the Pool aspect. I do think I will try justice and leadership as I do not take advantage of Allies long and do not really let him die like other players might.
I am an adjunct professor in the school of “This is Hot Garbage” and an associate lecturer in “GimmickPool”. Cards on the table, as it were. That said I have a question. Has Deadpool ever worked in anything other than the comics and film (somewhat)? My research (see adj-prof above) has shown that this IP has failed numerous times to break into other media. You know the meme of skateboarding Steve Buscemi saying “Hello, fellow kids.“ ? That’s what I think runs through the mind of any game producers when they get their hands on the Deadpool IP. “Get Gud” indeed. How very edgy and ever so timely. In all seriousness, if this is what we can expect from Tony Fanchi then the franchise is in trouble. Not than any of that would matter to FFG.
Yeah, I can’t think of an example where I’ve been glad to have him around. His Unmatched set is certainly similarly eye-roll inducing. But I don’t think I’m worried about the future of the franchise based off of this. I think they tried for something big, and kind of whiffed. It happens. We’ll see how this next big box lands before I get worried about anything.
@@thegrouchynerd well I certainly am anticipating the next box. I’m a huge mystics fan. I do have a theory though. We’ve been told lead time on new stuff is 2 years. Where were you 2 years ago? I was under my game table covered in hand sanitizer Maybe this is all just a result of too much Zoom and not enough face to face. More details when you decide to do a podcast and have me on as a guest. We can but hope
Great video, as always. Agreed with basically everything you said. I'm not a fan of the pool aspect. It's a cool concept, just not that fun to me. The only hero I've had fun playing with it has been Shadow Cat. She's pretty great with it.
I felt exactly as you did about Deadpool. Joke characters are so hard to get right (see: Guise in Sentinels of the Multiverse). Deadpool does something interesting though: he gets stronger as your gamestate gets worse, and he gives you the tools to push that bad game state early. On top of that, he uses my *other* favorite mechanism: hp is a resource you can spend.
Headpool is different from Deadpool, so the "Shorty" in his name doesn't matter. They can always be in the same game. As always, great video. Keep up the good work.
But isn't it the title that's important, not the alter-ego or subtitle? Since Deadpool and Headpool are not the same title, it doesn't/wouldn't matter if they are both Wade Wilson. I'm not trying to argue - just want to make sure I understand it correctly.
@DoubleOnad the alter ego name is still part of it. So, we can have Spider-Man (Peter) and Spider-Man (Miles) in the same game. But-say there were a Nomad-Nomad (Steve Rogers) and Captain American (Steve Rogers) could not.
I don't see anything in the rules that applies to subtitles first though. The unique rule only checks whether the titles are the same, and then you check the subtitle/alter-ego to see if they are different. What you're saying about Spider-Man is exactly right, though.
@DoubleOnad well, this is thoroughly blowing my mind. I guess I’ve always just added that second part in my head because it makes sense. Would have bet legitimate money on this! But, I guess that’s why there aren’t any examples actually in the game. They probably won’t ever put Steve as Nomad or Clint as Ronin just so this isn’t an issue.
I try to be a silver lining guy, but this is the worst pack in the game. It created no new elements to the game outside of the Pool aspect, which somehow magically made the game worse because you spent 20 bucks to add NOTHING to other characters. There's no support in this deck. X-Force got screwed in this Cycle by him. There are no supports, no upgrades, and the only Ally is Negasonic, who can only be played in the Pool aspect itself. The side scheme can be played by Cable, but it is garbage. There aren't even any new cards of existing Aspects in the back of the pack! The ONLY thing this pack boosted was you can put Cutupper in Gamora's deck. That's it.
Solid agree. I did have some fun with the hero himself, at least. I feel like the worst part is that it was right before a break in releases, too, so it’s just sort of this weird aftertaste to sit with for a while.
Wife: "we still haven't talked abou.."
Me: "Shh! My favorite show is on. And it's a double feature [chung chung]"
🤣 Don’t make her mad at me!
I gotta pick this up! Im digging it. Great vid man
He’s pretty fun!
Deaths’ creepy little stalker boy 😂
🤣
Great video along with your others. I was a little worried about getting Deadpool, but now I am definitely getting him.
Thank you!
I’m glad I helped make that decision! He’s a fun hero, even if the ‘Pool aspect didn’t really resonate with me.
I think I play him a little safer in the Pool aspect. I do think I will try justice and leadership as I do not take advantage of Allies long and do not really let him die like other players might.
Great video as always pal
Thanks!

Oh, that’s interesting, I hadn’t thought about that!
And, I promise if I ever get a podcast going, I’ll 100% have you on!
I'm new to this game and this content is great! Love the breakdown, subbed.
Awesome! Welcome to the game and the channel!

Hmm. Maybe I’ll have to break the cards out one last time to try Kitty.
Would you ever consider releasing a video of you playing through some games of Marvel Champions?
It’s possible. Right now I lack some of what I would need to make it look and sound like I would want it to.
But it’s possible…
Cool, I love your style, so I'm open to whatever your instinct is. You really breathe a lot of life into this game

Yeah, I’m really digging the characters who regenerate! HP as a resource is just the right kind of stressful.
“Breaktime…that’s stupid”. Hilarious!!!
🤣
New Marvel Champions content? I’m stoked!
Happy to oblige!

But if they both had simply “Wade Wilson” as alter ego names, they couldn’t!
Thanks!
