Hey, Becky! I'm from South America. I have depression, anxiety and other diagnosed mental health issues that I am in therapy for. I live in an apartment t way there on the other side of the world, no way I can plant anything like you do. But your channel to me is incredibly calming. Thank you!
My Friend, if you plant herbs in flower pots where you are, you will be surprised at how much that little effort will help your mental and emotional state. I know from experience. Start small. God sees and knows. Blessings.
Maybe a small indoor plant collection would be up your alley! I started with houseplants and they have brought me so much joy! Taking care of life helps heal us I think 💕
I encourage you to plant something. I too suffer from depression and when I go out to work in my small garden, I call it "Dirt Therapy". I truly enjoy the small amount of things that I can grow and come back inside to a brighter outlook. Blessings to you my friend!
Gardening in my studio apartment has empowered me mentally in a way that even succeeding at business didn’t. It’s like a bridge from my painful situation to a more healthy lifestyle. A gardening tip, you don't want to leave squash foliage including cucumber plants breaking down on top of garden soil over winter as mildew & mold spores will take hold especially under landscaping fabric. Which can cause major issues for next years seedlings sown in place. The heat of a large compost pile will kill most mold & mildew spores as you turn it over & over. A clean & tidy organic garden helps prevent disease.
Yes! You don't save disease for next year. Also stop poking holes in squash and pumpkins with fingernails to see if they're ready!! It will make them rot even faster!
At first she said she was going to leave them but changed her mind( because of disease) she said she would let the chickens play with them. On one bed she did leave the roots but a lot of garden blogs say to do this.Thats what she said to ME!!
@@delphine88313 Thank you for explaining that I must've missed her saying that, yes leaving roots is fine they'll wither away causing no threat of disease. Another issue with using non composted garden waste on top of soil is the dreaded Thrips larva over wintering. corn is wind pollinated. i wonder if you shook the plants while they are growing would help all the ears of corn get pollinated. that is what i do with my tomato plants and it works

I was sitting here watching your video, my 8 year old daughter was running by, stopped, and got super excited and said, "Oh, I love her." She sat in my lap and watched your video with me. Thank you so much for your video content. We love it.
You got me thinking about planting pumpkins next season instead of buying them. Hubby already planning my beds. I’m so happy. You really brightened my day. Happy Harvesting!!!🎉
Using a seed starting mat with thermostat, to ripen your pumpkins. You could drape them with a plastic tarp and have a bowl of water under the tarp with the pumpkins to increase the humidity. This is also a way to ripen sweet potatoes (I have them in a tote, with the glass of water inside all on the mat set at 85) Good luck with your ripening.
Hi Becky, I suggest you give each rised bed a number or a name, and make an excel sheet to keep track of what you do in it: what verity of produce, how much yield, what rotation, when and what was the emendments... you can keep record every year so you can retrace your steps to repeat or change. Love your work, you give us so much!❤
The 3rd ear of corn you picked that you said didn't get pollinated did get pollinated! Just leave it on the stalk longer and pick when the silks are dry! Not every cob will get ripe before the end of the season but you definitely don't have to harvest all at once! I've been growing corn and sweet corn with my dad and grandpa since I was little and sweet corn is always planted at the same time but harvested throughout the fall!
I used to think of her as an friendly acquaintance and I’m sure the baby has been in the garden plenty with her and Josh but has no plans on sharing any of those. She’s not our friend. She provides teaching on cooking and gardening. And she has a nice disposition as she shares.

Well Done You!!!! The harvest looks AMAZING!!! Baby A will learn many valuable skills growing up in the homestead. So excited for you and your beautiful family.
Question: I thought part of the layout and width of, and leveling and graveling of the ‘roads’ between your raised beds was to facilitate your little utility vehicle to be able to drive between them yet I see you with the heavy wheel barrel or several trips of baskets. Why not drive your little utility vehicle and put everything on the bed of that little truck?
As someone that suffers with tinnitus and is very hard of hearing, I really appreciate the new mic. Hadn't been able to really hear the videos and I had to watch once with subtitles then again to see what I'd missed, while reading 😊 Thank you ❤

I finally tried the Cinderella pumpkin after I saw you roast one in another video at your last homestead.... it was sooo good! Can’t wait to see you roast pumpkins this year so I can see which ones I want to try next! Great harvest! 🎃 Corn Tip: when the tassels begin pollinating, take a stick or broom handle (or something of the like) and tap the stalks to help the pollen fall and pollinate the silks better. You will have more fuller cobs and less that are not pollinated. You can also pull a tassel and rub the silks with a tassel. Learned that from an agricultural university where we live, so I thought I would pass on the knowledge! 😊
Awesome garden Becky!! And such a great harvest! Even the green pumpkins will be beautiful to display! Thank you for allowing me to come with you on this journey.❤ Sending love and blessings to your family!

Your garden set up are my gardening goals! You have a beautiful set up and I just love watching what you do with your space and what you grow! Truly inspired! ❤
Oh No! I notices some corners of your new raised bed garden are separating. Quickly get some L brackets on there to reinforce the corners before they really get weathered in the winter.
I love seeing all your hard work pay off and you get to harvest beautiful produce. I would love to see a behind the scenes video on how you do your videos, like how long does 1 video take you with camera repositioning etc and your thought process behind it as a content creator. I know you know have an editor but it would be nice to see for us all
If you lay a tarp on the gravel before you clean out a raised bed, you can drop all the vines or stalks or whatever onto the tarp and then you can easily drag it out of the garden to the chicken coop or compost pile.
I love these videos, Becky. A tip I go with, though, your corn, I wait till the ends are a crispy crunchy dried frizz before harvesting. I saw some of the silks were still silky, which means they aren't ready.
Becky have you tried Candy Roaster pumpkins? It was my first year and I'm hooked. I had one ripen early in the season and the vines looked like they died off amongst the fairytale pumpkins. The other day I was clipping leaves around pumpkins to have them ripen quicker and noticed 10 -15 new candy roasters. That made me excited because I made a pumpkin pie with the first one and the meat was so dense and sweet. I will have to scale down the sugar in pies made with candy roasters. They are fun to grow too!
Hi Becky, Josh and Baby A :) I just wanted to say thank you Becky for inspiring me to try gardening for the first time ever this year. My parents loved growing fruit and vegetables when I was growing up but it never really interested me back then, being more into gymnastics and dancing classes than getting my hands dirty in the garden. Sadly they are no longer with us to see the change in my attitude today towards growing a garden but I only did so after coming across your channel about a year or so ago, possibly a little longer but I started my first ever garden "with you" this year and followed your lead through watching you attend to yours. Taking your advice and learning through your challenges it wasn't long before I was adding more and more to my garden, and am happy to say that I managed to grow some tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, green onions, peas, strawberries, an abundance of courgettes (you guys call them zucchini) a singular bell pepper, a handful of green beans and one glorious Cinderella type pumpkin. I never thought it possible, but here I am looking back on the year so far and can't get my head round how well the garden produced. I am already plotting my next year's garden, some things I will definitely change now that I understand the 'mechanics' of it a lot more than when I planted my first seed.. funny thing, the pumpkin was the first thing I planted, 15 started growing but only one survived and I'm harvesting that tomorrow so it will be the very last thing coming out of the garden too. Anyway, if it hadn't been for you popping up on my feed all those months back I probably would never have even considered planting anything, so Becky I dedicate my first ever garden to you and can't wait to see what next year's gardens will bring for us all. Much love and God bless you all :)
Oooh, how cute some photography of your son would look with these magnificent pumpkins!!! I'd love to see a few photos of these gorgeous pumpkins on IG. Awesome job Becky, indeed 😃
You always seem professional, so hearing you scream made my day!😆 Sorry you were stung, but you've got something for a blooper video now. WOW!! That is quite A nice haul of pumpkins & winter squashes!
Hi Becky. The little orange pumpkins are the Jack-be-little pumpkins, and the mini-white ones are the Baby Boo pumpkins. They are both so darn cute and fun to decorate with. To help you remember which is which, just think of Casper the friendly ghost is white, I hope that helps.
Just watched your other video where you said you were going to harvest your corn! So excited for your corn success. I haven't had success with corn quite yet but I'm sure its coming :)
I’m to old for the wheelbarrow I would be using the side by side to tote all that stuff. 😂 love your content..today I am 64 I learn something new every time you post!
What a beautiful Fall days to harvest pumpkins from your garden. I was just wondering how your ornamental pumpkins were doing. Everything looks great! Yay! 🌻🍂🍁☀️
I'm only 7:32 the video so far, but wow! Well done on your gorgeous harvest. You're hard work has definitely paid off. Next year, will you leave fabric off that bed? That way, the vines can attached themselves to the soil and grow more roots. This will also allow them to take up more nutrients. You could lay removable shorter strip's of fabric between each plant down the bed until the vines give enough ground cover if that's a concern. But you have done SO AMAZING!! I'm so proud of you and I don't even know you, so I can only imagine how much your family and parents are proud of you.
You inspire me to want to garden and I pray I have the harvesting genes that my paternal grandparents had!!! I’m in my late fifties and freshly retired. Currently recuperating from bunion surgery on my left foot. Plan on having raised garden beds but am still researching how and what to grow etc Thank you for explaining everything
A wonderful harvest!!! That darn wasp! Lol. Your garden has been a pleasure to watch this season!!! You’ve done an amazing job!! The pumpkins are beautiful!
Two pumpkin tips that have helped me get more in each vine: 1. If you give the vine the chance to grow along soil they will grow more roots which helps them get more nutrients and if part of your plant starts to get disease you can cut it away. 2. I trim back my vines when they branch so that they put more into the fruit and not into growing huge vines
Those banana squash are my favorite. We grow North Georgia Candy Roasters and they grow prolifically here in my Coastal Oregon garden where it’s a bit too cool for some varieties.
U can pick small under ripe pumpkin & slice up & fry Like other have said about corn it's ripe when tassels r dried up. It's not they weren't pollinated, they were not done growing. I grew feed corn for years (160+/- acres). B4 I had lived there I had a friend who planted 5 acres of sweet corn to share with 4 families & some for church friends. The 3 ladies would pick & our kids would run the buckets to dump in bed of truck & 1 lady to rough shuck. Later we split into groups - 2 shucking & 2 blanching & bagging (then switch). In the 80s I shared harvesting with others... sharing makes work go fun & it doesn't seem to take as long. Then I moved away for the 90s & did it with my kids help only. When I moved back I had become disabled & have cut to little or no garden
I noticed your corn tassels were not dry. Also, the corn was not mature all the way to the top. All corn does not mature at the same time. Ripe: tassels are brown and dry. Fill along the outside of the cob. Make sure the cob is fat all the way to the top before you pick.
Has anyone ever commented and asked Becky why she does not use her truck down there to load up her larger harvests, such as this one? Instead of pushing all that distance with a wheel barrel? I’m just curious.
Cinderella, Fairytale, and Musgee De Provonce are the same pumpkin. They are just called different things by the seed companies. If you saw comments in your planting videos, I also mentioned it there. Also, I had a wasp nest IN my fruit tree and when I went to pick the fruit, I stuck my hand IN the nest. Now I wear gloves and try to look ahead. 😊
Nothing in your videos show us that you are now a family of three. Very strange. It’s as if there’s been no growth at all in your life. No toys, no child noises. No child food.
Watching you depresses me coz my garden just won’t ever be like this or this productive. But I’m happy for you lol I’ll just never know the joys of these harvests 😂
Pumpkins and gords are so much fun to grow! We also grow a bunch of squash.. Butternut, spaghetti, acorn, carnival, honeynut, sweet dumpling, and Zucchini.. So rewarding and huge yields! Next year I am going to try the North Georgia Candy Roaster Squash! Your little man is gonna love the pumpkins next year! We grow a pumpkin/squash patch every year and oh is it fun for little ones!

I love these videos, Becky. A tip I go with, though, your corn, I wait till the ends are a crispy crunchy dried frizz before harvesting. I saw some of the silks were still silky, which means they aren't ready.
I have to say.. you are an absolute queen. I have learned how to do so many things through your videos
Gorgeous pumpkins Becky! You're such a beautiful bright spot and so inspiring ❤️ blessings and love to you and your family 🙏🏽
So yummy and this year we even grew Mashed Potatoe Squash....Roasted with a little oil and slat anf pepper. was amazing!!
Thank you for not adding music over you harvesting. Love to hear the actual sounds better!
This harvest is amazing !! For the first time gardening in your wonderful new beds, you did great!.
Sorry the wasp got you but glad you left your reaction to it in the final cuts. Honest part of gardening.
Hi Becky, Josh and Baby A :)
I just wanted to say thank you Becky for inspiring me to try gardening for the first time ever this year.
Wow Charlie Brown would be in awe from the great pumpkins
This was a super fun video!! Can't wait to see the carrot harvest!!
Harika.Hepsi birbirinden güzel kabaklar🎃Emek verip,üretmek ve hasat etmek müthiş zevklidir.Afiyetler olsun🙏Sevgiler❤🌹🌷🌾🌸🪻🌼🥰
Hi Beckie, I wonder why you're not regularly using your side by sure vehicle?
I would love to have a golf cart, but that's not practical in Zambia
Oooh, how cute some photography of your son would look with these magnificent pumpkins!!!
I'd love to see a few photos of these gorgeous pumpkins on IG.
Awesome job Becky, indeed 😃
❤❤❤ The pumpkin harvest is beautiful.
You always seem professional, so hearing you scream made my day!😆 Sorry you were stung, but you've got something for a blooper video now.
WOW!! That is quite A nice haul of pumpkins & winter squashes!
Hi Becky that was quite a pumpkin harvest. You never cease to amaze me ! 🥰🥰
You are always on your feet, try hoka shoes. They are life changing
Keep up the good work❤❤❤❤ love watching your videos!!!
I just made your corn chowder recipe last night and omg! Soooo yummy!! Happy Harvest 🍁
Where can I find that recipe?
You inspire me to want to garden and I pray I have the harvesting genes that my paternal grandparents had!!! I’m in my late fifties and freshly retired. Currently recuperating from bunion surgery on my left foot. Plan on having raised garden beds but am still researching how and what to grow etc Thank you for explaining everything
It has to be so rewarding to grow, harvest, preserve and cook for your family. True blessing
ANOTHER AWSOME HARVEST TODAY
A wonderful harvest!!! That darn wasp! Lol. Your garden has been a pleasure to watch this season!!! You’ve done an amazing job!! The pumpkins are beautiful!
Mini pumpkins. Baby Boo are white and Jack Be Little are orange.
Love it!!!! ❤🎉 🎃
Two pumpkin tips that have helped me get more in each vine:
1. If you give the vine the chance to grow along soil they will grow more roots which helps them get more nutrients and if part of your plant starts to get disease you can cut it away.
2. I trim back my vines when they branch so that they put more into the fruit and not into growing huge vines
Thank you
Beautiful pumpkins! And how exciting to grow your own corn!
Those banana squash are my favorite. We grow North Georgia Candy Roasters and they grow prolifically here in my Coastal Oregon garden where it’s a bit too cool for some varieties.
Beautiful colorful harvest!
Horses and cows love those corn stalks
I'm far from an expert, but it looks more like squash bug damage than disease on the pumpkin foliage.
I agree.
Don't put powdery mildew in your compost. I learnt this the hard way. It lasts a long time and can transfer in the compost.
U can pick small under ripe pumpkin & slice up & fry
Like other have said about corn it's ripe when tassels r dried up.
Becky, why don’t you use your 4 x 4? If you’re nervous driving it around your gates, you’ll never get any better if you don’t practice….
Use your Cinderella Pumpkins for French Pumplin Soup. It's savory and absolutely delicious! The watery texture is a plus for that
First 😂😂😂I don’t know why people do this……..silly 😂😂
Oh Becky!! So, so beautiful!! Congratulations!!
Hey Becky ,👋🏾 you can make corn stalks decorations for the entrance of the garden. Have a awesome week.
