- Club Libby Lu was an experiential/experience-based retailer for young girls ages 4 to 12. Founded by Mary Drolet, a former executive at Claire's and Montgomery Ward, in August 2000, the store chain employed 98 stores in 28 states in the United States before closing in 2009. The stores were named after founder Mary Drolet's childhood imaginary friend.

I remember walking passed by this store all the time longing to go there, but my family was broke and I didn’t have many friends. Thank you for this video ❤
thank you for watching and sorry you didn't get a chance to go there.
I had my 11th birthday party at Libby LU, only one other girl showed up 😂
Sorry to hear that, at least you got to have your birthday there and be treated like a princess.
@@EricCProductions76 it was great! I do have fond memories of it 🥰
I LOVED LIBBY LU
Thanks for watching
Never heard of Club Libby LU.Interesting.😎
I had a birthday party there and gave the cutest show 🥺
Well this brand was short lived, 2000 - 2009 wow, I was expecting this to be much more popular but I guess not. Honestly I would not like this store at all I was only 3 years old when all of its stores closed so I don’t remember it, but the name Libby Lu sounds familiar though. This store was basically a Clair’s, or a Limited Too, but WAY more girly definitely not for me.
Great video Eric C, can you do the history of Uptons departments stores they were a Atlanta based department store that closed in 2000.
I will add it to my list. Thanks.
Almost feel like I heard of this place. Hey great video. Thanks for sharing
thanks for watching my friend
I’m sad I never got to experience Libby Lu. I guess it’s basically Sweet and Sassy now
I unfortunately only went 2 a Libby Lu once went I was around 2 or 3 years old before the stores went out of business a few months later however I do have many awesome memories at one of their competitors Sweet and Sassy and had the best birthday there and many mom and daughter trips with my sister for basic mani and pedicures and some shopping with my allowance in the gift shop. While Sweet and Sassy is still operational I would do anything 2 have an experience like that again tho lol
thanks for sharing those memories
I loved Club Libby Lu, but my mother absolutely hated it because they would have birthday parties in the middle of the store
But you got to be treated like a princess and as a parent, that is all that matters. Thanks for watching
Oh I never had a birthday party there or even went to one, we went in there just to shop a few times, she just always thought the store needed a larger separate room to do the parties. I remember her telling me about one instance where she went to do Christmas shopping for me while I was at school, and apparently they were having birthday party in the store even then. That’s right, a birthday party one a weekday during school hours!
@@kayseecoward7571 That sucks. But you are right, they probably needed to make it a separate room. Some parents don't care when it comes to throwing kids a party. Look at those parties and get togethers for a "Gender Reveal" party.
@@EricCProductions76 some of those are definitely crazy
