You should crack your suction hose on the manifold when you open your suction manifold valve. You most likely just added air to the system by not doing that. There will be air trapped in your manifold in between the two sides (where the site glass is) you need to purge the manifold body before adding the liquid into the vapor side.
Heck yeah, proper De Minimus, watched this other guy on UA-cam and was like, way too much release as he didn’t use this technique! 🎉
you can clear your gauges into an empty cylinder
Hey Jon- Rookie question- What about the air thats in the yellow Charge/Vacuum line? So like if I only hooked up to check system pressures without hooking up the yellow cha/vac line, How do I ensure that i wont be sucking air from the yellow line into the system along with the refrigerant when returning refrigerant back into the system? I understand purging the yellow line if connected to a tank, but can't seem to find any info on how to clear it of air on a system check if you don't use it.. Many THX !!
I am glad to see someone else that does this. I was taught this technique in AC class and always does it
I use the same manifold and i do it a little differently. i use the Vacuum port as my purge port. so i purge everything out to the vacuum port insuring No air Pocket in the sight glass area or center of the block. closing the vacuum port on last Purge out. You have to make sure center is allways Purged of air, i guess you did not show that because you probably had a refrigerant tank hooked to the refrigerant Port and Purged it out the vacuum port to clear the manifold earlier. Very cool Video! Can i ask What Video Editing Software u are Using, it's very cool!
Deminimus👌
Very good method! I learned this in trade school a few years back and it seems that a lot of people who work on some equipment havent been properly trained on this
Very nice . Thanks.
I’m looking for a sight glass that stems down from center charging line on my yellow jacket manifold . My pops had a noice sight glass that adapted to the manifold to view front and back on the SG was nice as hell cant even find one on google . Anyways
Thanks pal👍
thank you for your video
Hi Jon! Great video!
Thanks, sure it is basic stuff to pros but I have been looking for this sort of newbie training.
When you open the low side valve, should you do so very gradually so that liquid refrigerant does not go straight into the compressor? Or is the amount so small that it won’t do any harm?
I would love to see a video showing the replacement of a gauge on the manifold with another guage. What tool do you use? Is it easy or hard? Is it safe? Are many of the gauges compatible amongst different manifold manufacturers?
lmaoooo.....de minimus is life
Cool
does this method work on ac system's without valve core's???
