    My gosh, i cannot believe how you went through that whole presentation non stop and well formatted. The progression in explaining the gauges was immaculate man! Hopefully Ty I'll be starting this august in an hvac cert course. I'm 46 but in decent shape i think it's not to late to learn a trade. I kind of would like to do the service side, I'm good with people but I'm missing my right hand up to the wrist. I was born like that but I don't see my self doing installs. I never did anything technical like this, I'm a licensed barber, and I have a real estate license, you think it's too much of a big leap? Anyway your my Hvac hero man, I love the way you teach, , I don't feel dumb when I hear you teach LOL! God bless you Ty...Your pal in Deltona Florida!

      I'm glad to know I can help that's goal.
      It's never to late to start. My oldest student was 86, a retired pilot from Venezuela. He was working at an HVAC supply house (wholeale) and ended up being the manager.
      Service is really fun but service leaves it very open such as residential service, commercial service, restaurant/ food service, medical refrigeration service, or industrial chiller/boiler service.
      Also there is a growing need for building science with blower door testing, energy auditing, and home efficiency. Take a look at HVAC 2.0
      It's a big bright world out there all in need of HVAC thermal dynamic specialists. There is a huge need for people that can think and problem solve. After that your unlimited!

    I bought a cheap set from amazon for 30 bucks and it would leak. Took me awhile to figure it out. When I took it apart initially I didn't see anything. After looking it over a while I found a very small piece of brass in the valve area. When they drilled the holes in the unit they didn't get all the pieces out. Great video thx.

    Hi Ty,
    Excellent training session (as always) on the different types of gauges. “PSIG converted to Saturated temperature.”
    Please let us know what you think about the wireless probes. I am looking at purchasing the Fieldpiece set too. Your training will be very helpful to us all!

    So even if you purge the hose there will still be air trapped in that small section between the port and the pressure sensor?

    Ty I know you are busy so at your convenience I have a question I don’t get a lot of help with.
    I’m looking into buying my first set of gauges, I’ve looked into and slimmed my options to a standard yellow jacket analog manifolds, the Sman380 digital gauges, or the fieldpiece wireless probes, but im unsure of what my best option would be.
    Stand yellow jackets would get the job done for a beginner, but I’d also have to buy a nice set of temp readers to get my SC and SH. So with that the price would almost be enough for a digital set with temp readers included.
    And I think I like the probes the best because of the easy connection and low loss of refrigerant. But can I do everything gauges can do with the probes as long as I have a T connection to put a hose on.?
    Any advice on this would be great. Thanks Ty.!

      2 months ago I bought the fieldpiece measure quick probe set and I am loving them. Unused Bryan Orrs hvac school 10% off code "getschooled"
      It was a lot of money and really hurt at first but I'm loving them. You can start in segments or jump to the whole kit. At this time in tech, I personally don't see the point in buying digital hose guages. I would say start with a simple manifold set or jump to the probes. Nothing wrong with the digital hosed guages just my 2 cdnts.

      I’m really leaning towards the probes as well. I know it’s a bigger purchase but if I spend 200 on analog gauges that money could be put toward probes.
      So with the probes you can do everything you could with the gauges like charge , recover, and etc.?

    • @samsmith854
      @samsmith854 3 роки тому +1

      And thanks for the quick reply sir.! You are on it.!

    • @love2hvac
      @love2hvac  3 роки тому

      $200 for analog gauges?!!??! Wow!!!
      When recovering I don't use gauges at all anyway. I use a tee on the recovery machine inlet and 2 hoses to each side of the unit and sometimes even pull the valve cores, video combing soon.
      If I'm charging I use a tee on the suction side and a hose with a manual valve. I use the hose valve to throttle refrigerant into the system.
      If a system is overcharged I put a tee on the high side and use the same hose with a valve to control the refrigerant to the recovery tank.
      Some people use the valve on the tank only but I find the valve on the hose much easier.

      @@love2hvac yeah a set of Yellowjacket gauges and hoses is around 190, so I figured just put that money towards more accurate technology.
      Thanks for all the info.! I looked at Tru Tech Tools and found this set which I think I’ll get since I already have my fieldpiece meter.!

    I know you would never knowingly do this, but aren't the hi and lo side connected to each other if you open the valves on both sides which connects each side to the middle which in turn means they connect to each other?

    🤔🍺🤣
    Second the main reason I'm stuck on analog is field piece 410 sat temp was -62.2 @ 0 psi
    Testo was -60.6 that's °2 if I'm in supermarket refrigeration that °2 could be crucial"No"
