a few people mentioned this and I think they are correct. based on the fret markings you played the 614 in both segments, It did sound great though, would have liked to hear the difference

Saving up my money for the Taylor 814ce already. Perhaps a silly point, but I like the idea that, for a guitar costing thousands of dollars, they managed to put an exotic wood pickguard instead of a piece of plastic. I plan on playing it through my Boogie amp. Bet it will sound sweet. Thanks for these great reviews Marty!

Hi Marty, great to see you back. I've got a LE Taylor 816ce which I think has great tone and playability and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on an equivalent Martin. I'm thinking of buying one to add to the collection. The other half doesn't know yet so between you and me! Great review on the Taylor's.

Recently purchased an 814ce. Returned it today and ordered the 614ce Builders Edition Torrified Spruce Wild Honey Burst top, maple sides/back. This video confirms my thoughts about Maple. Should be here within a week. Hoping for sweet flame. Wife got the Baby Taylor deal for $100

I think if you keep building they will come. The quality on Act 2 is a step (or 2 or 3 or more) above your previous gig, and the rate at which you're cranking stuff out is incredible--not to diss the older stuff, because much of this comes from experience. Great catalog of lessons already considering you had to start over. Really appreciate it Man!

Marty you would sound good playing a $100 guitar! Both these sound awesome. I own an 06' Taylor 410 model, sounds awesome, always been a fan. I've noticed on the 614ce the older models have a much prettier lighter maple color. Not sure what year this changed or if they still make the lighter color?

Just personal preference I don't like the 814 in person. The new 414ce rosewood has a fuller and not so shrill sound. I had a 616ce before they changed to the new bracing and brownsugar stain. I ended up selling my 616ce and a 324 which I really liked. I now have a 514ce fmltd. Mahogany is now my preferred tonewood. I will say a few years ago I played a martin hd28 and wish I had bought it. I haven't found another that sounded as good.

What I remember after playing a Taylor acoustic guitar for the first time was out of any acoustic guitar I have ever played the Taylor acoutics felt/played the most like an electric guitar compared to any other acoustic I have played. Are you sponsored by Taylor? I gotta think the Martin from your father is your favorite guitar though?

I have a really old (in my opinion)1974 Guild D-35; in mahogany if it is any indicator that wood with age matters, it does,it simply sounds like it has a an old soul if that makes sense. I bought it when I was 12 brand new and it's been with me for all the miles and chapters of my life. (For shits and giggles I worked little jobs for almost a year to bring her home. II wonder how many kids today would even think about doing that.) BTW Marty, my wife says it's good to hear your voice coming out of my computer a few times a week during breakfast again, both she and I are glad you are back, I knew the Schwartz was strong in this one.

Hey Tony, I love my vintage Martin and I will make a video for sure on it. I sold my newer Martin since I'm rocking my new Taylors now.

Слышно одно дребежание по струнам, не думал что так изуродует эти легендарные гитары

Marty, I love you as a guitar teacher. But anyone who knows
you (or who has followed you over the past few years - before you left us
hanging without any explanation) knows you are a Martin man when it comes to
acoustic guitars. You used to use your father's Martin and after a newer Martin
that you had purchased for your live gigs. That, of course, was before Taylor approached you and
talked you into using their guitars in your videos (probably with an
interesting financial incentive). I can't say that I blame you for accepting,
but I must admit it hurts seeing you pretend to love these guitars that don't
even come close to a Martin in sound. But, still, keep up the good work with
    your videos. Sincerely.

I love My old Martin from 1976 and I cherish it. I also feel both Martin and Taylor make great guitars. Taylor is local to me and I truly love what they are doing, so it's quite easy for me to use their guitars. They haven't paid me a cent to use them. With full transparency, Taylor has been a loyal supporter and friend of mine with no strings attached (and no financial gain). I have never talked to anyone from Martin, but I do love their product as well. I'm not a paid endorser nor am I faking anything. I love my fenders and gibsons, my taylors are really great, and of course, I love and cherish my vintage Martin.
