Following on from my 'Hackle Pattern' creations (see the fiberygoodness blog for free workshop!) I decided to apply the same principles to my blending board, creating a 'pattern' to work from to create replicable colour designs for my yarn spinning.
(from Gerry Ivkovich) I am fascinated with your color reasoning. I have been using a blending board for years and only thought of it as a random blend of the colors I chose. Thank you for the insight. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing. I have never seen a blending board used in this way before. Looking forward to having a go. Debs from Down Under
This is great, thank you! I've just got a blending board and I'm exploring ways to use it. This has given me food for thought 😊
Couldn’t you use the dowels side to side to end up with the same batt you make when you roll it up side to side with your hands? Or does the direction of the teeth make that impossible?
yes, its necessary to roll in one direction only to remove, because of the direction of the tines :)
Thanks so much for this. I learned so much!
Thank you for taking the process all the way to the swatch! I'm a pre-newbie spinner and excited to see how it turns out!
I hope you enjoy it!
Wonderful idea!
Blending boards are soooo addictive! Am I the only one who thought, on hearing the siren in the background, "there are NO spinning police"?😁
So smart❣️❣️ thank you for the inspiration 🥰
Thank you so much for this!
I have never thought of using the blending board this way. Will definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
This opens up a lot of exciting possibilities! Thank you so much!!
You are so welcome!
What is the hand carder that you use?
It is a small brush made by Majacraft, it comes with their Drum Carder but you can also get them separately, it makes a great burnishing and packing brush!
