And Red Flavor has a long history before being launched by Red Velvet. It was written in the UK, offered to Little Mix, they remade it, then it went to Sm ent and offered to Girls Generation, but due to delays, it ended up being for VR.

3:11 it’s because “happiness” is “the red” side of red velvet. So red velvet has 2 sides, the red = bright happy (ex: happiness, birthday, red flavor, ice cream cake, dumb dumb) and the velvet = mature, dark (ex: peek a boo, bad boy, psycho, automatic) Sometimes they combine the 2 sides (example: chill kill). But they already established the concept since the very beginning. After “happiness”, they release a song called “Be Natural” which is “the velvet” side in 2014 before Yeri joined. Red velvet has a complex concept:
1. Red= (bright songs) Velvet =( darker songs) RV= (a mix of both.)
2. They have a witch concept which is evident in most of their mvs.
3. Each member has a designated color + fruit(Irene= pink watermelon ❤🍉)(seulgi= yellow pineapple 💛🍍)(wendy=Blue flesh orange 💙🍊)(joy= green kiwi 💚🥝)(Yeri= purple grapes 💜🍇).
4. Each member has a designated animal(irene 🐰, seulgi 🐻, Wendy 🐿, joy 🐥, Yeri 🐢/🦄).
5. They have a imaginary friend called REVE 🤖, and recently it seems they ar e living daydreaming/nightmare and are waking up).

Fun fact.. some random girls including yeri was present in the happiness mv. Thats why when yeri debut some fans speculated that the other girls who were in the happiness mv will also join them after yeri. And in the ice cream mv the cake have 6 slices so this made the rumor stronger because there is one additional slice. Anyways it didnt happen just want to share.
