- Parades and flypasts were just some of the events that took place across the UK on Saturday as part of Armed Forces Day celebrations to thank the military community for their service.
The national event was held in Falmouth, Cornwall, where the Duke of Gloucester and around 100,000 people gathered to mark the occasion.
More than 1,000 military personnel, veterans and cadets paraded through the town, while there were also spectacular air displays, parachute jumps and more throughout the day.
You can watch the highlights of Armed Forces Day in Falmouth, including a spectacular display from the Red Arrows, in this video.

NZer here. My father was in the Navy during WWII. I have a *huge* love of the sea and probably get it from him.
Go the Armed Forces! Go Navy!
I was there and it was epic
Same here. I wasn’t able to see the parade, but it was absolutely great to be there for everything else. Such an absolutely brilliant day for it.
It was absolutely great out in Falmouth today. All of the branches of the armed forces were out in force with so many regiments represented here in numbers I don’t think I’ve ever seen before in person. Glad I was able to be here for the occasion. Absolute perfect day for it. Won’t ever forget it.
Was in this parade as an army cadet, loved it all
Are you normally 22?
I was in the army cadets parade. I was scared but it was worth it. Being a little midget it was a lot of pressure but thx to everyone who came
Brilliant, I never got to do one myself when I was in cadets. Put it in your logbook
Honestly dude, I was apart of the silver bugels which we lead the rifles up first, unfortunately can't find many videos on us💀
Well Done 👏👏👏
The cadet forces are equally as important and recognised for recruitment into all the units of our armed forces. No matter how small you are, stand tall. You are the future or respect and discipline
It's normal to be nervous before you march in a parade. Well done!
Indeed ; the British forces with o long standing reputation of unmatched discipline and great combat ability!
Credit goes where its due !
@@joanpreciouskisakye3171did you reply to yourself?
@@FuriousFire898 No!
@@joanpreciouskisakye3171 I believe ya 😂
@@user-mr4uo5mw9nFunny then how it's always those "toy soldiers" who are the first to be wanted - and respond - when other countries are in trouble??!!! Most of our allies have nothing but praise for the British Armed Forces; and it's not always about the numbers - quality of training and discipline ensures our Forces personnel stay superior.
Love Navy. Love Coldstream Guards as my Dad was a member during WW2 He joined in thirties and was injured in France, came home by ship on a stretcher. Two Uncles on my Mams side of family were at Dunkirk. Her father, Frederick Warren Swan was in Merchant navy. The ship he was on eas torpedoed and ships company were taken to La Harve in France, marched through Framce, into Germany and remained there for 5 years as POW. He never spoke of the treatment of the POW's by the Germans. He was interviewed in very early 60s by local newspaper and gave a very limited amount of information regarding the terrible conditions the men of the Merchant Navy suffered during their time in the Camps.
Thank you to all those who served throughout our U K. history. We will always remember them. We will never forget, ever
🇬🇧🙏🌹😢💔
We won but a terruble peice was paid
💔🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏
The Cornish will always turn out to support our men and women, thank you one and all for keeping us safe!
Got to love the Navy!
It was a great day in Falmouth, glad to see some brilliant footage 👍👍
Beautiful too see ❤
Fortunately, the Navy was allowed to march at their pace.
The Rifles march is brutal.
I like Falmouth, go there regularly on holiday, going in a fortnight, lots to do lovely part of the country, Salford uk
great show guys x
I used to go to the Royal tournament and the Lord mayor's show years ago, our military always give a good show well done everyone.......lest we forget 🕊
well done lads
Great stuff more money for the armed forces 🇬🇧👍
The RAF has eleven display teams - the Defence budget should be mainly for the front line, not for the RAF to show off!
Nice one lads.💪😎👍🇬🇧
My son was in the parade in army cadets, fabulous day.
The small but truly mightiest with combat ability
I thank you too
lovce seeing the rifles force everyone to march at rifles pace hahaha
I wonder why events like this aren't in areas like bradford or luton.
Because no one's English/British in Bradford anymore.
Because they’re full of Muslims.
Armed Forces Day is a relatively modern event. Local authorities bid to hold the event - perhaps those places have not applied.
Lucky Falmouth. Here in Hemel Hempstead we had a pathetic display of stalls in the local park manned by a few charming young cadets. If it had been organised properly we should have had a military band at least playing & even a recruitment centre.
Wonderful video Forces TV. However, is it usual practise to demote senior officers by 2 ranks? If I were you I’d send a letter of apology to the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff: General Jenkins for referring to him as a Major General.
Give Forces News a break! It called First Sea Lord a General about eighteen months ago ...
Sad when the number of people that gather is more than the number of people in our Army
That’s the only time I’ve seen a Union Jack in Cornwall🤦♀️
👍
Looks as if the armed forces get more support from the general public then the MOD/government
at least somethings going well.
You call yourselves Forces News but you can’t even get the rank of General Gwynn Jenkins correct!
Bz all
Navy uniform is not good at all look at the army and air force looks a lot better
Nonsense. What matters is fighting proficiency and the Royal Navy is the most consistently successful fighting service on the planet over the past 350 years. Sailors wear their uniform and history with pride!
Big up The Mob 🇬🇧⚓
I think navy uniform should look like the air force or similar lot tider
Navy goes back centuries and no sailor would wish to look like that lot in the RAF!
Is this place real? So many white people, looks like old England, i live in England to but it looks nothing like this, if we'd hosted this around my way it would of looked nothing like this.
I guess this is for a specialty audience. Outsiders have no idea.
"outsiders" nice
As with most things, if you are interested in something then you know where and when events are taking place. This particular Day is now in it's 15th year! Falmouth, in Cornwall, was selected as the National Event host because 1 in 5 people in Cornwall have a personal or current family connection to the Armed Forces, and after a competitive bidding process - but events were also held across the Country. It's also the culmination of a week of events so I don't know how you knew nothing about it?
Is having your ears tucked into your dress cap in Kings Regs now?
We will beat the system our Nation, Great Britain the true Brits.
In Forces News We Trust
But Pride get a month.... Something very wrong there
Nonsense - you can't compare apples with pears. One day for Armed Forces Day is quite sufficient as we should all prefer our armed forces to be preparing for war and carrying out peacetime duties as required (and I don't include such things as the RAF's eleven display teams!).
