Hey Guys! First, this video is for all the people who consider IDW Comics being canon to the games, I'm going to do a follow up video on why I Don't Like to consider IDW CANON. I'll do a follow up video calling out ALL the inconsistent things between the games and Idw games. Also I want to clarify the list in base everyone in the top 8 has win cons over each-other and are highly relative and next time I will cover that. Also I know shadow uses chaos ability’s without an emerald, but chaos control has always been stated to be used with an emerald I spent a long time on editing and working on this video so Liking means a lot! The other things to note about Shadow though is he *can* use other Chaos Abilities without an Emerald, such as Chaos Spear, small scale teleportation and Chaos Boost; and then everything else beyond that tied to the Boost like Chaos Blast. The other thing about Shadow is he is an extremely competent fighter when he's serious about it. If he's aware of the situation, he's pretty tactical instead of fighting dirty like he usually would against Sonic etc.
He kinda zoned me out when he said that he also didn’t mention his inhibitor rings plus I’m pretty sure every sonic fan knows the only ability shadow can’t use without an emerald is chaos control everything else he can do just fine
idk how much higher it put him honestly, if i remember correctly the only feats he has when taking off his inhibitor rings was dashing through mephilis clones and barely beating knuckles and almost passing out afterwards in sonic x. if anything it puts him around knuckles place.
@@ZanteBlitzstop it, in 06 shadow wasn’t even exhausted when he put those rings back in. In Sonic X he had them off to defeat knuckles in one shot, knocked him out cold. Talk about “near knuckles”
tbf for Shadow, that moment where he says he can't, not only is it specifically Chaos Control, not his other abilities, but it also says he doesn't have the energy, meaning he can perform Chaos Control without an emerald, but in his condition in that moment, he can't
And what further supports this is that shadow was made using the chaos drives which we know come from the Master Emerald or Chaos Emeralds and so they have chaos energy within them and Shadow was created using that and black Dooms DNA meaning that he is overflowing with chaos energy and that is stated and he has inhibitor rings for a reason

Shadow has used Chaos powers without an emerald on hand Even if he hasn't in that fight Silver also tried to use Chaos Control. You also didn't bring up the inhibitor rings and how Shadow grts a buff taking them off. Which is more like his base stat than with them on.
As a Blaze stan, I'm honestly shocked you'd put her so high, although she is stronger than the majority of the characters mentioned here. I honestly think Shadow's fast aggressive fighting style is the kryptonite to her acrobatic ballet style. Not to mention Shadow having Chaos abilities without necessarily possessing an emerald. On the other hand, we don't know what else Blaze can do with Sol Emeralds asides turning super and transporting between dimensions (which, isn’t too helpful in a fight to win?). A lot of casual fans think Shadow can win with low to mid difficulty but it only shows how little they know about characters who are less popular than him. Blaze shares his duty and desire to protect those in need; both are directly tied to their emeralds' energy source; both have long range attacks whilst being extremely agile in hand to hand combat; lastly, both are easily highly destructive when locked in (given how serious they are all the time). The outcome of their 1v1 is not as clear-cut as how casual fans think it will be. As for Sonic, he's the main character, so he's going to come out on top no matter what 😂
the cool thing about this list is that pretty much everyone from shadow to sonic has an argument for why they could potentially beat any other character among those, aside from knuckles beating sonic since thats least likely out of any match up currently
Everyone is Very close and relative to each other in base especially the mains liken Sonic Blaze Shadow And Knuckles so by using feats and some statements this is my list if yours is different like i said I will understand. Thats why I said you could switch these characters around but the number 1 spot I won’t Hear anyone out with
I think you are heavily underestimating Shadow. Shadow can use his chaos powers without an emerald. This was a plot point in battle where he gives the last emerald to Emerl and reassures him he can use his powers without an emerald. Shadow also manages to beat Emerl who has all chaos emeralds in a fight, something only Sonic was able to do at the end of the game. Not to mention Shadow was able to fight and heavily damage Biolizad who is tough enough to fight 2 superforms in Adventure 2 without an emerald. Not to mention the Sonic rival games show Shadow can keep up with characters like Sonic, Knuckles, and Metal without having an emerald.
Don't forget, in Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 in the Last Way, Black Doom take away from Shadow all the 7 Chaos emeralds and Shadow still able to use Chaos Control to get in the main room where Black Doom is, outside that we also have Sonic Forces where Shadow didn't had any Chaos Emeralds and still able to Chaos control and kick his copy. Overall Shadow only uses the Chaos Emerald to expand his abilities to a longer scale, he doesn't really need it, it just amplifies his powers
Even in the IDW comics shadow said it himself when aganist multiple shadow androids that he didn't have the necessary power to invoke chaos control without the assistance of an emerald to deal with a large amount of threats.
Okay, regarding base Shadow I’m going to debunk your point on Shadow needing a Chaos Emerald to pull off all of his chaos powers since he was able to launch Chaos Spears at Sonic during their battle on the Ark since all the other emeralds were already installed in the Eclipse Cannon, and Tails had the last real Chaos Emerald too, and he doesn’t need to use a Chaos Emerald to use Chaos Snap which is his teleportation ability, and Chaos Blast. He does need a Chaos Emerald to pull of Chaos Control though which works in two ways, he can teleport other characters and objects, and freeze time. The moves I mentioned prior don’t require a Chaos Emerald, plus it’s still up for debate to whether or not the IDW comics are canon or not since most of the events have no effect on the main games continuity. Plus, where’s Tangle and Whisper in the games? The fact that IDW said that Shadow needs a chaos emerald to pull off all of his Chaos Powers is false and Shadow’s battle with Sonic on the Ark proves it with Shadow using Chaos Spears on Sonic while Sonic’s using Sonic Wind.
While I agree with what you said tangle was mentioned in frontiers and the comics were confirmed as cannon but yes i still agree shadow doesnt need an emerald
Name drop isn't really much proof Flynn stated as long as their aren't any contradictions Also stated if Tangle is gonna be in the games she has to appear as a new character not an old one
We really shouldn't consider what happens during gameplay as a factual rule to how Shadow's powers work unless it is somehow backed up outside of it. After all, we could just as easily use Shadow's own game as a counter argument since in it he can't use any chaos ability prior to obtaining a chaos emerald. Multiple official sources will state this. The only abilities Shadow can use by himself is Chaos Spear, which he was shown using and actually calling out the name of the ability, and arguably Chaos Snap, which is arguable if it even is a canon move he has since it's never directly mentioned ingame, only used as an excuse for when he quickly teleports without an emerald even if that was already confirmed to be a continuity error.
Plus, let’s also not forget that fact that Shadow doesn’t have a Chaos Emerald at the start of His Story in 06. It’s until the part where he and Rouge are sent into the future to where he does actually have a chaos emerald and was able to pull of Chaos Control from there.
Since sonic battle is canon now, in one scene, shadow is gonna fight emrl and gives him the emerald. In that scene, emrl has 6 of the 7, and shdow gave him the last emerald. Then emrl says “Wouldn’t that give u a disadvantage” and shadow says “Nuh uh” or smth. And shadow still has his powers.
fun fact: Blaze technically won in rush, Since she gets the last sol emeralds, that she can only get after beating sonic and taking care of eggman, if sonic wins, the sol emeralds are never mentioned thus the last sol emeralds is never retrieved and blaze never gets the 7th sol emeralds and the story can't go down the way it did. For the story to even make sense, Blaze MUST win
@@playerback7722 In rush, the story often contradict itself when sonic and blaze cross paths, what makes the blaze part canon,are the events related to the sol emeralds, you can headcanon however you want, you can go with sonic or blaze's part if you want but the sol emeralds are SET IN STONES, if sonic wins, he lets eggman get away, if blaze win she retrieves the sol emeralds, saying it's a tie is sugarcoating, because after, the loser of the fight is out of comission and the winner takes on the last boss of the game, implying a clear winner
He was only talking base power and he's low on the list because Shadow is usually not using his base power, he is using a chaos emerald most of the time.
Sonic is actually stronger than blaze, and Blaze's strength is actually her biggest weakness. Let me explain; Pyrokinesis is blaze's biggest strength conjuring fire however she pleases. But it's also her biggest weakness against fighters like Sonic because Sonic can create a vortex around Blaze with his super speed, sucking the oxygen out of blaze. This could cause Blaze to breathe in carbon dioxide from her own flames. A sudden and large release of CO2 would be extremely dangerous. In the air, a CO2 concentration of around 10% is deadly.
True. In order for fire to burn, it would need Heat, Fuel & Oxygen. Sonic can increase blaze's heat in the air to increase the CO² in the atmosphere causing Blaze to pass out or possibly even killing her.
True, Also due to Sonics speed, he can basically just blow away blazes Pyrokinesis powers with his wind attacks, those wind attacks can blow away fire..and at times, even counter them.
Your talking about that one moment in archie aren’t you? If so, i agree, but in game? Blaze can use her flames in water and space, i don’t think sonic would be able to stop blaze’s flames by running around her, and about sonic being stronger, yeah, if he didn’t hold back, blaze is done for but when he does hold back, blaze is on par with sonic

Blaze wouldn't be able to react because her base speed pales in comparison. Sonic is just that strong. Shadow is also stronger than Blaze. Stop trying so hard to win an argument you're looking to start. You'll only end up embarrassing yourself. I know blaze is your favourite character or you probably have some weird hate for my guy Sonic. But Sonic STOMPS Blaze. Sonic creating a Vortex around Blaze can just end the fight.
being the protagonist doesnt make you the strongest. i will say though, sonic, knuckles, shadow, metal sonic, (and potentially blaze and silver) will get stronger. In like 2 or 3 new games they will once again surpass the others. blaze and sonic unfortunately cant be answered again fully until shes given attention again in the games. Going by feats its great but it becomes undefined instead of fully supported

In IDW when Shadow gets brutally beaten by zombots in the same issue he uses chaos spear with no chaos emerald if u have critically analyzed the comics Edit: Forget what I said about chaos controling without an emerald in the replies. Shadow can't use chaos control without an emerald. SEGA retconed it in recent medias like shadow101,dark beginnings and IDW. But he can use chaos spear,blast and snap without an emerald.
@@TyrecordslolI'm also not sure if he can use chaos control without emeralds but there are many example where he can use them without chaos emerald like in Sonic battle(which is canon) Shadow direclty states after giving Emerl the last Emerald that as long as he carriers Maria in his heart does he need to Emerald to invoke Chaos Control. sega really perfected a character concept in blaze then doesn't fully utilize her unless its for a couple moments. here's to hoping we get a game that has silver shadow and blaze playable or at least observed doing something of note again generations is great for shadow but its still back then in the timeline and we don't have much from anyone recently

I don’t see how Shadow using his chaos abilities invalidates that being his base when he was created with the emralds in mind and made to utilize these powers, like how the biolizard was born and meant to utilize the chaos drives. Its like scaling Amy and invalidating her from using her hammer as base.
You can't convince me that the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise isn't a Shonen Jump 1.) Has what is essentially, an official manga (The IDW Comics) 2.) Had a shitty era but then turned that shit around ( Similar to Dragon Ball Super as a whole ) 3.) Numerous transformations, hero and villain 4. ) (Sometimes) A compelling story with stakes and dark tones 5.) Yeah. He's freaking based off of Goku. Pretty much Silver is based off of Future Trunks. Shadow is based off of Vegeta. Amy Rose used to act like Chi Chi back when Lisa Ortiz voiced her. Knuckles kinda give you piccolo Vibes. Tails has that long friendship with Sonic like how Krillin has with Goku. Rouge acts like 18 a little bit when 18 would flirt with Krillin. Plus the time when Tails was in that mech fighting by himself in Adventure 2 it reminded me of the time when Gohan went Super Saiyan 2 and defeated Perfect Cell. Big the Cat reminds me of Buu when he's happy and is eating his chocolate (Not Kid Buu). The Sonic series got a lot of inspiration from Akira Toriyama.

Amy isn't Chi-chi, she's just a generic girl fanning over the MC that's in every anime, Tails is the child genius trope, not a Gohan rip-off or Krillin, who has no comparison to Tails whatsoever. Him being in a mech fighting Eggman is nothing at all like Gohan fighting Cell, if it is then my goodness any game where someone fights a boss is a Dragon Ball rip-off, lol. Knuckles being the tough loner at least has a bigger reason than Piccolo not wanting others to know about him much, given he's guarding the Master Emerald. Rouge is more like Catwoman than 18, as other than them being women have no real comparisons. Big and Buu are just... 'big', and I guess talk funny and are '''slow''' if you really wanna go there, but still act quite different and at best can be the 'big slow character trope.' But yes, Sonic using the Chaos Emeralds, Shadow being a rival with very similar powers, and Silver being a time traveling warrior, can have very plausible arguments that make them like Dragon Ball clones in many ways. And I don't wanna hear any 'Eggman is like Freeza or Gero' comparisons, lol.

I've literally been making a tier-list ranking all the characters from the games based on how powerful they are these past three days. I'm excited for this, it's such a coincidence, lots. Although, based on one of the comments, I'm expecting to get a little mad at where you place Shadow 😂
Shadow can use his chaos abilities without a chaos emerald, in sonic 06 this is proven in flame core after team sonic and team dark leave shadows stays behind to fight mephiles and Rouge shows she has his chaos emerald and states that shadow no longer has one. Shadow then goes on to fight mephiles and the only why he could get mephiles out of the dark is by going into his chaos boost and he also continues to use all his chaos abilities chaos snap, chaos blast and chaos spear without the chaos emerald Also again in shadow the hedgehog 2005 black doom takes all the chaos emerald and shadow must ise chaos control to make his way to him without having any chaos emeralds, shadow at this time is also capable of using chaos blast as well no emerald This is possible because in Sonic battle 2003 shadow gives his emerald to emerl and says he no longer needs it because he has maria in his heart and continues to use his chaos abilities through that game. Shadow is a character that was created by Gerald with chaos drives he has literal chaos energy flowing through his body without a chaos emerald
I know nothing about Sonic or any of the characters, even though I grew up playing the Sonic games. This helped a lot and surprised how powerful these characters are.

Wait this video actually makes sense bro. Also infinite being stronger than Solaris means Base Sonic beats solaris as of Frontiers which is very interesting. Only think I don’t agree with is Mighty being over Knucks. I mean you even said that Knucks was punching blow for blow with Bark while Mighty got destroyed. Moghty goes under Bark. Knuckles clearly has a connection to the chaos emeralds and he can definitely has a handle on chaos energy which is why he punched Sonic out of super. Also why isn’t Emerl on this list. You did say Dead or Alive and Emerl beat everyone as of Sonic Battle except Sonic so he should be above Knuckles and below Sonic. But at the same time he was using chaos emeralds so thats not base but he can still copy abilities so I think he should be over or under metal sonic.
Well it does track for power scaling, as in Sonic Generations he could beat Perfect Chaos in base form, where in Sonic Adventure he needed Super Sonic to do so.

5:02 we can definitely tell if Shadow is using a Chaos Emerald during that part of the game, if he's blatantly not using a Chaos Emerald until the final moment, we also know from the IDW Comics that he can use weaker versions of his chaos snap, and chaos spear with no Emerald, if you want to say that having the emerald on him means he used it then so did silver, because he also had the emerald on him.
General I agree with some of your statements but ima have to disagree with the silver shadow one. You keep saying shadow needed a chaos emerald to beat silver but silver had a chaos emerald and pulled it out in the same fight and still didn’t beat shadow. Not only that shadow can use chaos based energy moves without an emerald or at least he’s been shown using chaos powers without an emerald present in game on multiple occasions. And a quick search online will show that shadow can use chaos control without an emerald but in small or short distances. Which makes sense shadow has chaos energy following through him. Which is why he where’s inhibitor rings to control that . Doing a big disservice to shadow .
To be honest both shadow and silver were downplayed here. They both deserve to be higher. Mfer didnt even mention shadows inhibjtor rings becsuse shadow without it is quite literally BASE SHADOW. He wears the rings to limit his natural abilities. As for silver the writers have show several times that they just dont know what to do with him because his psychokinesis to the point where they just ignore alot of the abilities he has in some cases to nerf him like them seemingly trying to ignore the fact that he has been shown to use telepathy in the past, him being able to create a psychokinetic barrier around hmself to freeze sonic in place etc but the writers just dont include these abilities in sequels and shit because they have to nerf him to not outshine other characters. Same case happens with shadow alot.

Yea it’s mixing the comic lore but not including the comic only characters….it makes the whole discussion stupid. If shadow gets washed by sliver but sliver gets washed by a comics only character that shadow one shotted does it matter because said character wasn’t in the games? Therefore sliver is automatically better then shadow? Like bruh either should have included comic characters or just stuck to the lore in games….mixing the two while ignoring non game characters is insane imo

I know SEGA said they're canon but clearly there's a lot of contradictions when you look at the details (Perfect example is Shadow saying that he can't use Chaos Powers without an Emerald, which is just stupid by the way, while in Sonic X Shadow he CLEARLY uses Chaos Control without ANY Emeralds because ALL of them are on the Sonic side of the campaign) so I personally still like to ignore them and look at the games as the one true mainline version of these characters and if we do that then it's just such cap to say stuff like Knuckles > Shadow or that Solaris isn't the most powerful god entity etc. but also even if we look at the comics alone on their own it's VERY clear that the power levels of characters are VASTLY different from what was presented in this video BUT AGAIN!!! That's literally just a result of this weird mixing and matching whatever information supports your argument and cherry picking moments in the story without any context at all that leads us to some of the insanity that is presented in this video. Again, I won't say that the WHOLE thing is horrible but a lot of this is just bro capping.
Also when shadow states multiple times throughout the games that he doesn’t need an emerald to do chaos control according to Ty when he says one time In the comics that he can’t do chaos control without an emerald right now (keep in mind he was drained of energy).

Shadow uses the emerald because that’s what he is used to. Nothing more, nothing less. His use of the emerald doesn’t make him less powerful than Silver. *edit* I realized you seem to be on a mission to discredit shadow for some reason.
only because he is without an emerald. We dont really know how often he is without one. But most of the time we see him use his abilities, he has an emerald. and even one chaos emerald is a huge amp. given his reasons for the other characters, its pretty reasonable he has him there
You have a biased opinion on shadows powers that’s for sure… a lot of the facts you’ve stated about shadows abilities from silvers fight to the comics saying didn’t have the energy to use chaos powers… can be taken either way. You interpreted both of these scenes how you seen fit, doesn’t make what you said fact , because they weren’t .
im not sure even likes shadow because silver gets dusted by infinite while EVERYONE ELSE does good. sonic, shadow, avatar, CLASSIC sonic. plus he does chaos control in sonic forces with no emerald. also sonic 06 was 18 years ago

Since u said we really gon be tlkin bout the games n ikno u said u were gonna dip into the comics but the part about shadow not being able to use chaos powers without an emerald (i havent read the comics but this might stil make sense) shadow has always been shown to use chaos powers without an emerald lik the spear the blast he used chaos control without an emerald in shadow the hedgehog. In shadow generations his homing attack is a teleportation and he doesnt have an emerald... n in the comic he said he doesnt have the energy to use the chaos powers without an emerald.. now lik i said i nvr read the comics so it might be some missing context there but what i got from tht line was tht he was probably jus tired n couldnt use them unless he has an emerald with unlimited power... and also he has inhibiter rings on his wrists and ankles which keeps his power at bay and without them he would be completely untouchable... u can def correct me if im wrong tho

it made sense, they're talking about base powers without augmentations. shadows whole thing is he's a master at manipulating chaos power to preform amazing feats, but without them he definitely falls under sonic and knuckles who're born with there powers. he literally needs power ups to contest with them: he's not keeping up with base sonic without his air shoes, and he needed to crack open his inhibitor rings to barely win a fight against base knuckles.

I can’t with this guy.. no way he’s saying Infinite is stronger than Solaris. When Solaris existed in the past, present, and future and needed to be beaten in all three at once. He was one of the only few villains that took THREE supers to defeat! It took SUPER Sonic, Shadow, and Silver just to defeat him! Infinite is not stronger than Solaris! He was sonics toughest opponent with sonic by HIMSELF bro. There’s a difference 🤦🏽♂️
All the time shadow just hiding his power in his ring without the rings he can easily beat sonic in speed or in strength so how can he say that is not too stronge
so in regards to the main cast, it would be 1.sonic and shadow 2.blaze 3.silver 4.surge, as we have multiple statements that shes almost as powerful and strong as sonic and can compete with him as well as ian flynn himself putter her above metal sonic and knuckles 5.knuckles 6.metal sonic. also mighty isnt stronger then knuckles.
Can we appreciate dr eggman for being the smartest thung just ever? He also went throigh dark gaia, the end, and further bosses, without even quirvering once. He is the real hero.

Shadow taking inhibitor rings off. Piccolo taking weighted training clothes off for a fight. Spider-Man using his full power and not holding back. Sentry wiping his own mind so he doesn't use the full extent of his base power. When they take these off their base power goes back to its regular original state. These are not transformations. These are called limiters. A transformation is when the whole body morphs and new powers are discovered that can't be found in their regular base state.
Idw comics are massive inconsistentcy and ignorning the fact Shadow was stated to be equal to Sonic’s abilities nothing sttaed to have a chaos emerald and him relying on chaos emeralds has been debunked by numeours people. The other things to note about Shadow though is he *can* use other Chaos Abilities without an Emerald, such as Chaos Spear, small scale teleportation and Chaos Boost; and then everything else beyond that tied to the Boost like Chaos Blast.
The other thing about Shadow is he is an extremely competent fighter when he's serious about it. If he's aware of the situation, he's pretty tactical instead of fighting dirty like he usually would against Sonic etc.

And what further supports this is that shadow was made using the chaos drives which we know come from the Master Emerald or Chaos Emeralds and so they have chaos energy within them and Shadow was created using that and black Dooms DNA meaning that he is overflowing with chaos energy and that is stated and he has inhibitor rings for a reason

As a Blaze stan, I'm honestly shocked you'd put her so high, although she is stronger than the majority of the characters mentioned here.
I honestly think Shadow's fast aggressive fighting style is the kryptonite to her acrobatic ballet style. Not to mention Shadow having Chaos abilities without necessarily possessing an emerald. On the other hand, we don't know what else Blaze can do with Sol Emeralds asides turning super and transporting between dimensions (which, isn’t too helpful in a fight to win?).
A lot of casual fans think Shadow can win with low to mid difficulty but it only shows how little they know about characters who are less popular than him. Blaze shares his duty and desire to protect those in need; both are directly tied to their emeralds' energy source; both have long range attacks whilst being extremely agile in hand to hand combat; lastly, both are easily highly destructive when locked in (given how serious they are all the time). The outcome of their 1v1 is not as clear-cut as how casual fans think it will be.
As for Sonic, he's the main character, so he's going to come out on top no matter what 😂
the cool thing about this list is that pretty much everyone from shadow to sonic has an argument for why they could potentially beat any other character among those, aside from knuckles beating sonic since thats least likely out of any match up currently

I think you are heavily underestimating Shadow. Shadow can use his chaos powers without an emerald. This was a plot point in battle where he gives the last emerald to Emerl and reassures him he can use his powers without an emerald. Shadow also manages to beat Emerl who has all chaos emeralds in a fight, something only Sonic was able to do at the end of the game. Not to mention Shadow was able to fight and heavily damage Biolizad who is tough enough to fight 2 superforms in Adventure 2 without an emerald. Not to mention the Sonic rival games show Shadow can keep up with characters like Sonic, Knuckles, and Metal without having an emerald.

Don't forget, in Shadow the Hedgehog 2005 in the Last Way, Black Doom take away from Shadow all the 7 Chaos emeralds and Shadow still able to use Chaos Control to get in the main room where Black Doom is, outside that we also have Sonic Forces where Shadow didn't had any Chaos Emeralds and still able to Chaos control and kick his copy. Overall Shadow only uses the Chaos Emerald to expand his abilities to a longer scale, he doesn't really need it, it just amplifies his powers
Even in the IDW comics shadow said it himself when aganist multiple shadow androids that he didn't have the necessary power to invoke chaos control without the assistance of an emerald to deal with a large amount of threats.
Okay, regarding base Shadow I’m going to debunk your point on Shadow needing a Chaos Emerald to pull off all of his chaos powers since he was able to launch Chaos Spears at Sonic during their battle on the Ark since all the other emeralds were already installed in the Eclipse Cannon, and Tails had the last real Chaos Emerald too, and he doesn’t need to use a Chaos Emerald to use Chaos Snap which is his teleportation ability, and Chaos Blast. He does need a Chaos Emerald to pull of Chaos Control though which works in two ways, he can teleport other characters and objects, and freeze time. The moves I mentioned prior don’t require a Chaos Emerald, plus it’s still up for debate to whether or not the IDW comics are canon or not since most of the events have no effect on the main games continuity. Plus, where’s Tangle and Whisper in the games? The fact that IDW said that Shadow needs a chaos emerald to pull off all of his Chaos Powers is false and Shadow’s battle with Sonic on the Ark proves it with Shadow using Chaos Spears on Sonic while Sonic’s using Sonic Wind.

We really shouldn't consider what happens during gameplay as a factual rule to how Shadow's powers work unless it is somehow backed up outside of it. After all, we could just as easily use Shadow's own game as a counter argument since in it he can't use any chaos ability prior to obtaining a chaos emerald. Multiple official sources will state this. The only abilities Shadow can use by himself is Chaos Spear, which he was shown using and actually calling out the name of the ability, and arguably Chaos Snap, which is arguable if it even is a canon move he has since it's never directly mentioned ingame, only used as an excuse for when he quickly teleports without an emerald even if that was already confirmed to be a continuity error.
There are several contradictions in comics. The guy who made the video doesn't even consider it canon.
Plus, let’s also not forget that fact that Shadow doesn’t have a Chaos Emerald at the start of His Story in 06. It’s until the part where he and Rouge are sent into the future to where he does actually have a chaos emerald and was able to pull of Chaos Control from there.

Since sonic battle is canon now, in one scene, shadow is gonna fight emrl and gives him the emerald. In that scene, emrl has 6 of the 7, and shdow gave him the last emerald. Then emrl says “Wouldn’t that give u a disadvantage” and shadow says “Nuh uh” or smth. And shadow still has his powers.

Sonic is actually stronger than blaze, and Blaze's strength is actually her biggest weakness. Let me explain; Pyrokinesis is blaze's biggest strength conjuring fire however she pleases. But it's also her biggest weakness against fighters like Sonic because Sonic can create a vortex around Blaze with his super speed, sucking the oxygen out of blaze. This could cause Blaze to breathe in carbon dioxide from her own flames. A sudden and large release of CO2 would be extremely dangerous. In the air, a CO2 concentration of around 10% is deadly.
True. In order for fire to burn, it would need Heat, Fuel & Oxygen. Sonic can increase blaze's heat in the air to increase the CO² in the atmosphere causing Blaze to pass out or possibly even killing her.

Yeah. He's freaking based off of Goku. Pretty much Silver is based off of Future Trunks. Shadow is based off of Vegeta. Amy Rose used to act like Chi Chi back when Lisa Ortiz voiced her. Knuckles kinda give you piccolo Vibes. Tails has that long friendship with Sonic like how Krillin has with Goku. Rouge acts like 18 a little bit when 18 would flirt with Krillin. Plus the time when Tails was in that mech fighting by himself in Adventure 2 it reminded me of the time when Gohan went Super Saiyan 2 and defeated Perfect Cell. Big the Cat reminds me of Buu when he's happy and is eating his chocolate (Not Kid Buu). The Sonic series got a lot of inspiration from Akira Toriyama.

I've literally been making a tier-list ranking all the characters from the games based on how powerful they are these past three days. I'm excited for this, it's such a coincidence, lots.
Although, based on one of the comments, I'm expecting to get a little mad at where you place Shadow 😂
Shadow can use his chaos abilities without a chaos emerald, in sonic 06 this is proven in flame core after team sonic and team dark leave shadows stays behind to fight mephiles and Rouge shows she has his chaos emerald and states that shadow no longer has one. Shadow then goes on to fight mephiles and the only why he could get mephiles out of the dark is by going into his chaos boost and he also continues to use all his chaos abilities chaos snap, chaos blast and chaos spear without the chaos emerald
Also again in shadow the hedgehog 2005 black doom takes all the chaos emerald and shadow must ise chaos control to make his way to him without having any chaos emeralds, shadow at this time is also capable of using chaos blast as well no emerald
This is possible because in Sonic battle 2003 shadow gives his emerald to emerl and says he no longer needs it because he has maria in his heart and continues to use his chaos abilities through that game.
Shadow is a character that was created by Gerald with chaos drives he has literal chaos energy flowing through his body without a chaos emerald
I know nothing about Sonic or any of the characters, even though I grew up playing the Sonic games. This helped a lot and surprised how powerful these characters are.

Wait this video actually makes sense bro. Also infinite being stronger than Solaris means Base Sonic beats solaris as of Frontiers which is very interesting. Only think I don’t agree with is Mighty being over Knucks. I mean you even said that Knucks was punching blow for blow with Bark while Mighty got destroyed. Moghty goes under Bark. Knuckles clearly has a connection to the chaos emeralds and he can definitely has a handle on chaos energy which is why he punched Sonic out of super. Also why isn’t Emerl on this list. You did say Dead or Alive and Emerl beat everyone as of Sonic Battle except Sonic so he should be above Knuckles and below Sonic. But at the same time he was using chaos emeralds so thats not base but he can still copy abilities so I think he should be over or under metal sonic.
Well it does track for power scaling, as in Sonic Generations he could beat Perfect Chaos in base form, where in Sonic Adventure he needed Super Sonic to do so.

5:02 we can definitely tell if Shadow is using a Chaos Emerald during that part of the game, if he's blatantly not using a Chaos Emerald until the final moment, we also know from the IDW Comics that he can use weaker versions of his chaos snap, and chaos spear with no Emerald, if you want to say that having the emerald on him means he used it then so did silver, because he also had the emerald on him.
General I agree with some of your statements but ima have to disagree with the silver shadow one. You keep saying shadow needed a chaos emerald to beat silver but silver had a chaos emerald and pulled it out in the same fight and still didn’t beat shadow. Not only that shadow can use chaos based energy moves without an emerald or at least he’s been shown using chaos powers without an emerald present in game on multiple occasions. And a quick search online will show that shadow can use chaos control without an emerald but in small or short distances. Which makes sense shadow has chaos energy following through him. Which is why he where’s inhibitor rings to control that . Doing a big disservice to shadow .
To be honest both shadow and silver were downplayed here. They both deserve to be higher. Mfer didnt even mention shadows inhibjtor rings becsuse shadow without it is quite literally BASE SHADOW. He wears the rings to limit his natural abilities. As for silver the writers have show several times that they just dont know what to do with him because his psychokinesis to the point where they just ignore alot of the abilities he has in some cases to nerf him like them seemingly trying to ignore the fact that he has been shown to use telepathy in the past, him being able to create a psychokinetic barrier around hmself to freeze sonic in place etc but the writers just dont include these abilities in sequels and shit because they have to nerf him to not outshine other characters. Same case happens with shadow alot.

Yea it’s mixing the comic lore but not including the comic only characters….it makes the whole discussion stupid. If shadow gets washed by sliver but sliver gets washed by a comics only character that shadow one shotted does it matter because said character wasn’t in the games? Therefore sliver is automatically better then shadow? I know SEGA said they're canon but clearly there's a lot of contradictions when you look at the details (Perfect example is Shadow saying that he can't use Chaos Powers without an Emerald, which is just stupid by the way, while in Sonic X Shadow he CLEARLY uses Chaos Control without ANY Emeralds because ALL of them are on the Sonic side of the campaign) so I personally still like to ignore them and look at the games as the one true mainline version of these characters and if we do that then it's just such cap to say stuff like Knuckles > Shadow or that Solaris isn't the most powerful god entity etc. but also even if we look at the comics alone on their own it's VERY clear that the power levels of characters are VASTLY different from what was presented in this video BUT AGAIN!!! it made sense, they're talking about base powers without augmentations. shadows whole thing is he's a master at manipulating chaos power to preform amazing feats, but without them he definitely falls under sonic and knuckles who're born with there powers. he literally needs power ups to contest with them: he's not keeping up with base sonic without his air shoes, and he needed to crack open his inhibitor rings to barely win a fight against base knuckles.

When they take these off their base power goes back to its regular original state. These are not transformations. These are called limiters.
