I like gear boxes I am going to do a build on my BW super T10 for my vette. I have done a vw once well 3 time's on the same one it's so hard to get the rite clearance on the shift fork's so they dont ride on the ring and ware out. I cant wait to see the rest of this build to see how it's done rite the first time. Thanks EZ

Hello, I am in the process of collecting trans parts. I have a Rhino case upgraded with gussets. I have a Qualified diff carrier. I want to get a Very 5th gear conversion. My end goal is to make it a very strong freeyway flyer. I also would like!e to shorten the bell housing, and input shaft. I want to move the trans forward as much as possible. I have a G50, but it's length added to a possible 6 cylinder Duration,will fit my Super Beetle. I want the ratio of the G50, it's definitely going to be a free way flyer. Rancho Performance says the can mod a 3.44 along with Weddle first through 5 gear range. Call me small minded, buy I worry about getting what I pay for. Can you recommend a transmission builder?
do you know of any way to drop thr trans , without having to take out the engine .... i have seen where a brace was designed for front wheel drive cars that allowed the removal of those types of trans ... so , i was wondering if they made something like that for veedubs
+bozowinslo Nope, there is no wiggle room to get the main shaft out of the flywheel and the nose cone and gear shifter sticks out in the front. It's really not that hard to remove the engine. Just mark all the stuff when you disconnect it and or take pictures. Good luck with your project
+TheEZGZ ... i was hoping that maybe the nose could come off, and give you the room needed , or possibly tilt the whole project ...... its all the wires and hoses , cables that goes to the engine , that i was hoping to get out of ... and hopefully save some time and labor costs ... the engine pull and replacement is gonna cost out the wazoo, beyond the tranny work that needs to be done pretty soon .... the complete tranny rebuild , is only gonna cost a grand , if i bring it to them ... but thr rest of it , if i let them do it will cost another 1500 bucks .... i dont have an enclosed shop to keep me warm ...lol... so , do i freeze , or shell out another 1500....... oh well , such is life sometimes .... decisions , decisions...lol thanks anyways bud ... ps... i will be following your vids for reference , so thanks in advance
