The early bird catches the worm, but the bully Squirrel gets a pellet in it’s ear 😂🏴
Right - it's never worth pushing it at the bait station...

Mats eyes at 3:01 the ultimate squirrel stalker!
Oh my god I have not heard the name "John Rothery" since the 60's and 70's when we had a gun shop in Portsmouth by that name, it was always my go to shop at the time, nice if it was the same family!!
I believe it was the same family, Martin. They started out with retail outlets, and it's the right part of the world.
All the best. Mat
Lovely Shooting Mat.The brocock worked a treat on those greedy greys.

I honestly thought you had a throat infection for a minute there, its always awesome to see you smashing those grey. It would be nice to see alot more red's in my life time, i hope. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the feedback and for watching.

Every single grey taken down helps preserve the reds in the border areas where grey and red meet.
It might seem pointless in areas where there are no reds, but keeping the population down there helps prevent the spread and grey replenishment in areas like North Wales, The Lake District (my home) and Scotland.
Keep up the good work.
That's right, John. And the benefit is even wider reaching as grey squirrels have a negative impact on virtually all our native woodland wildlife.

That was quite a squirrel harvest 🙂 👍 🐿️
Yes, it was a decent session at the feeder.

Enjoyed the video The brk seems to make a slight crack when it fires, looks nice and compact.👍
I didn't notice that the BRK was particularly loud, so it could be to do with the microphone.
Thanks for watching. Mat
Thank for the videos. Learning so much, on hunting skills and shot placement.
Really glad you're finding the video helpful.

Try using lavender to stop the midges from biting that’s if you like the smell good shooting as always .
Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.

Hey Matt , what tripod are you using and where can you buy it please. Great vids thanks.
It's a Primos Trigger Stick Tripod. Distributed in the UK by John Rothery Wholesale.

Where did you get your beanbag seat? I’ve looked everywhere. Even asked in the sportsman gun centre.
Range Right and John Rothery Wholesale supply beanbag seats like mine. Retailers who deal with them should be able to source one for you.
Good luck. Mat
Nice one, keep up the good work, they all need to go if we are ever to get the REDS BACK 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Martin. You're absolutely right. And the benefit goes much, much further, as grey squirrels have a negative impact on virtually all of our native woodland wildlife.

Al compresor se le queman los orrins y es muy dificil conseguirlos
Is the gun sub 12?
That is a very good question. This one was running at about 15ft/lb - sorry I didn't point that out.

I'd love to be having a go at the Squirrels Mat, but never seen ay on my permissions, and none of the landowners have mentioned them. So looks like I'll have to get looking ?. lol More blimmin door knocking. Sheesh.
Not seeing grey squirrels is a good sign - at least they aren't wrecking the woods. That said, even if you don't see them, it could be worth putting up a bait station. You might be surprised by what turns up.
All the best. Mat
Cheers Mat. There is a wood on one of my permissions that I saw a Squizlet a few years ago. Just before it exploded when I hit it with the old side by side. lol
Well amazing 🤔
Thanks very much.

When did squirrels become an evasive species?
Grey squirrels have always been an invasive species in the UK. Reducing their numbers helps native red squirrels as well as songbirds.
I'd understood they were introduced by the Victorians late 19th century as a way of adding some interest to London's parks.
I live in County Durham and we have red colony’s up here so Grey control in these areas is an absolute must. We constantly monitor one of our colony’s for grey incursion and since taking out the greys we had in the area we’ve only seen one grey interloper since October but the Red sightings have gone up to at least 10 different animals as can be seen on my channel.
Grey squirrels have been an invasive species since their introduction to the UK. Apart from contributing to the decline of our native red squirrel, they cause major damage to trees and have a serious negative impact on a wide range of woodland wildlife including birds and small mammals.

If you’ve seen ONE squirrel vs air gun video, you’ve seen them all.
