Agree! It got to be wayyyy too much to have 'regular life' and 'knitting life' in the same journal haha. I actually made a last minute decision to get a separate 'regular life' journal for this year and I'll be moving my bookshelf into that one as well! ❤️
I also am keeping knitting journal, but in my hobonichi Techo! one thing I think you might love in your bujo is a gift knit list/tracker, a knitting podcast video idea (like if ideas randomly come to you and you want to jot them down), and if applicable, a list of skills learned (and which projects they came from!) obviously these are just suggestions and im sorry if they're unsolicited, but I love when my two very specific niche hobbies blend into one!!!
I literally just wrote in my journal about starting your ereader cozy pattern, thought “I wonder if anyone else journals about knitting,” searched “knitting journal” on UA-cam - and this video popped up first! What are the chances?!
Thank you for sharing this, I‘m really not the journaling type but I find the way you set up your knitting journal sooo interesting. Personally, I use Ravelry as my notebook and I‘m thinking about learning how to use Excel so that I could have spreadsheets for my yarn stash and my needles (I have a ton). I would LOVE a video about „knitting spreadsheets“, I know you like to track data so I feel I could learn so much from you! Thank you for your channel! Oh, I wanted to add: „Leuchtturm“ is German and it means „lighthouse“. What a nice name for a journal.
I’m planning on making a video about my yarn stash and including how I track everything on my spreadsheet! It should be coming out in January. If you want something sooner, you should check out @benknitter on Instagram! She has a free Google sheets yarn stash tracker download and lots of reels explaining how to use it!
Thanks for sharing! I'm a big fan of my personal bullet journal, but definitely added a few more 'knitting focused' spreads and pages through the years. You've inspired me to add a few more to my 2024 bujo! And yes, I plan out my pages with sticky notes too!
The book drawing page reminds me of a bullet journal accessory I saw on booktok! I think it was the Kodak Step Wireless Mobile Photo Mini Color Printer. They printed off the cover photos of the books they finished, and the back of the photo has a sticker paper backing, so you can trim it down and stick it right in your bullet journal! I love that idea so much. I like the idea of putting the spines on a shelf page, that’s super cute.
Thank you! I’ve been wanting this for a while. I wrote down all of my stash this week. That was eye opening. I was thinking I should have all of the project pages in one spot too.
You have inspired me to make/ keep my own Crochet journal! I can’t wait to get all the stuff and get started setting it up I think I will use a lot of your pages to start!
I love your idea for your yearly closet pages! I was thinking of including a photo for each project, but think it’s really clever to place it all together as a visual closet. Also thinking about splitting purchase details from the actual project page now too, so that it’s clearer, but adding a section to the project page related to cost breakdowns (pattern, material, any notions, etc.) so I know the monetary cost for each piece - I also sew, so that might be a little more applicable for a combined journal. Thanks for the inspiration!
Nice setup! I do not crochet/knit quite as often and as much as I'd like to, so keeping a knitting journal seems rather overkill for me personally. But I am playing with the idea of a temperature or mood blanket in the next year, which would need some documenting.
Ooo yes! Definitely some notes on colors and yarn choices, hook/needle size, and daily temperatures! If you're a spreadsheet person, this could all easily be kept in a spreadsheet too 😉
@@knitcalifornia Yes, that's what I am thinking as well! I am a very tactile (? not sure how to describe it) person, if I take notes, it's likely going to be with pen and paper, not digitally.
Thank you for the inspiration, I needed to reorganize my journal! Quick check though, did you notice that you started January on the wrong day on your monthly page? I'm pretty sure it starts on a Monday and not on a Friday 😬
I did the same thing! I think just add boxes in the first row and redo the numbering by covering up the old writing with a sticker, washi tape, even a sharpie to black the whole box. And then add the numbers on the bottom of the day boxes!
I literally just followed your set up to make a crafting journal. I really enjoyed this video!! Thank you so much!! ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
I love journals! I also bullet journal, but I think keeping the two separate is easier when I have SO many knitting ideas haha.

Yay! I’d love to see more of your journaling along with your knitting! Two of my favorite things!!❤❤

I love these ideas, thanks for sharing! I have a monthly section for youtube video ideas and IG ideas, but I'm adding the other two to my journal!

Omg that's amazing!! I need to make more videos about my knitting journal because I love it so much!
Lady! You are wicked good at this! You should find someone to publish this book! I’d buy one! But, I know I wouldn’t make one.
Thank you! Working on one… 😊

Omg thank you for letting me know! 😅😅😅 il have to figure out how to fix that. Luckily it wasn’t the whole year calendar that I messed up 😆
