That is a great looking tractor. Those front tires really toughen up the look of a 2wd tractor. If you have 2wd, those are the style of tires you should have.
Always liked this style of john deere tractors👍
👍👍
Adding lime to the soil raises the pH, it doesn't lower it
I misspoke. I meant to say adjust it. Trying to film and put out a video out everyday caused a slip up on this one.
A farm near me has a John Deere 4440 and a 4755. They are in great shape and run like new. They were the first big tractors on their farm. They've graduated to 3 Challenger MT875E's these days. Lol
Very cool.
Nice john deere! Takes me back as a kid when they were new!
👍👍
Applying lime raises the pH thereby lower the acidity.
When you don't have enough ballis on your loader and you're doing some heavy lifting, use a hay bale. 👍
Improvise. adapt. overcome.
Ballis? 😂😆
Thanks so it would not be able to you and your
A friend of mine put a 4955 engine in his 4850. Bigger valves, bigger turbo....pepped it up a bit!
Cool.
That's a nice 4955 tractor I always liked the 40 , 50 & 55 series
👍👍
Old Deere! 😍😍😍👍
Thank you for watching.
Good video👍 no question✌
Thank you for watching.
Awesome video as usual I was a really pretty the field they were working in there
👍👍
Love those sound guard cab tractors put many hours in the seat of several different models over the years 👍🚜
👍👍
buen video colla
Thank you for watching.
❤️❤️big two wheel drive tractors ❤️❤️
Why do the 40 series John Deere tractors have the front of the cab round? Is there a purpose for that?
PlowableGore 14 they are called sound guard cabs and the shape of it disperses and mutes the sound
The 30,40,50,55 and 60’series used the Sound Gard cab for 21 years. The design was built to lower the decibel if outside sound in the cab.
Strange seeing a no till operation. Planting amongst all those weeds. Cool video!
The green is volunteer wheat from last years wheat harvest in this field. The field is sprayed and it cleans right up.
@@bigtractorpower Ok thanks!! Learning a lot from this channel!
I wanted to ask for a video with a 4960 2 wd and next day i saw this in you tube keep up the good job your biggest fan from greece
I hope to find a 2wd 4960 to film. I have a 2wd 4850 and this 4955 here on the channel. I have a 2wd 8200 on the way.
No way I'd let my tractor suck in that lime dust
How do they get rid of all the grass?
Herbicide. It is volunteer wheat.
@@bigtractorpower Thanks.
Does the spreader have the shut off on the ends like the self propelled units an auto steering
Jay Thomas There’s no satellite receiver on the cab so I would say he does not have auto-steer installed. And therefore that spreader would not have an auto-shut-off mechanism either. I bet he’s doing it the old fashioned way.
Great video, enjoy them all. I think you meant raise the pH-lime is a strong base.
Yes. I meant to say adjust the PH.
@@bigtractorpower Yep-gotcha. Thank you for providing history on different tractor brands, interesting how the companies develop and adapt to market demand.
Little known JD factory option round bale rear ballast
It’s the eco friendly option. Bio degradable 😁
🤚💪👍👍👍👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜🚜
👍
Is lime expensive?
This is no comparison, but lime for my garden is around 5 bucks for a 40lb bag of pellitized lime.
Pat Kelley that’s a loaded question, but not really for what it dose
Phil Hall makes crops be able to uptake nutrients, adjust your soils ph so herbicides and nutrients work properly
The lime kinda looks like wet gravel.
In essence that is what it is. It is dug from the local quarry and crushed.
bigtractorpower I had no idea. Thanks for the info.
Jon West It is the fine particles left from processing limestone into crushed stone.
😀👍👍
👍👍
Thank you. Say hi to the “Big Boss” for me.
@@bigtractorpower I will 😁
Lime raises PH...
Yes I meant to say adjust. I was in a rush to get out and film more footage and just did not hear the mistake in the audio.
First!
