It's closer to tone def in my opinion, many other unseen artists that deserve more recognition that this. And this is coming from a diehard TBS fan, drugs ruined this mans voice, that's not a flaw but a choice.
@keithustfs“that guy” is john nolan lead singer of the band stray light run and the original guitarist and back up vocalist for taking back sunday if you don’t like him you don’t like the entire first taking back sunday cd...
the album “ Tell All Your Friends” was their first major label release with John Nolan then the next 2 cps “Where you want to be” and "Louder now “ are with Fred Marichino and now the new cps new again and the newest one have John Nolan Again
Jay Burris Wayne yes and it's a shame because it would have been a better album with John Nolan Fred is a narcissistic piece of shit so was that tiny bass player they had for a while they both are pretentious little shits John Nolan is the real deal
I think it sucks that most of you are looking for perfection in his voice and can't really appreciate that imperfection and how amazing things are when you accept and realize that..
adam totally blew his voice out getting wasted or something the day before but its so cool just seeing him and john in the same room playing a song together again
Maybe I'm alone, but I like the sound of adam's raspy strain. Of course I like his old vocals to and how they've changed album to album... but this is cool. And I still love this song so much, so greatly written and constructed well :)
Have just bought their new album! Amazing to see those guys back together. A little sloppy on the vocal side of things here, but Adam is still my favorite singer.
@ToxicatedLum and i assume this is early in the day... its fact that your voice is more raw and strained/raspy early in the day. thats also why most concerts are at night... after voices hav had like 10 12 hrs to warm up
Do you think Adam knows that he's kind of blown his voice out over time? I miss him on the Louder Now tour... He had perfect hair... and awesome stage presence... And he could sing the songs without it sounding painful :(. Where You Want To Be is my favorite album though.
@ToxicatedLum dude i've seen pictures of him smoking and drinking even while onstage..and his live performances back in the day were a whole lot better compared to what they are now.
The imperfection has always been one of my favorite things about Adam's voice. If he didn't get off pitch or go squeaky sometimes, it'd be disappointing, IMO.
Adam has never had a crystal clear voice live.........Nothing wrong with that. I happen to like his grizzly tones. If you want perfect just listen to the CD's.
Its a shame. He completely smoked and drank his beautiful voice away. I still enjoy the record, but he has progressively diminished his talent at hitting those notes as time progressed.
i love this. it shows that these singers arent perfect. they have flaws. this is one of those things where imperfection is perfect
It's closer to tone def in my opinion, many other unseen artists that deserve more recognition that this. And this is coming from a diehard TBS fan, drugs ruined this mans voice, that's not a flaw but a choice.
Ugh absolutely love his voice here.

It doesn't matter if it was 5 years ago or now, TBS still rocks, and they're still awesome
These TWO are LEGEND 💯
I love the songs "Taking Back Sunday" the album, acoustic. They sound so amazing!
his voice was so strained from touring and being older whilst doing so, trust me, i saw them live last month and his voice was perfect.
@keithustfs“that guy” is john nolan lead singer of the band stray light run and the original guitarist and back up vocalist for taking back sunday if you don’t like him you don’t like the entire first taking back sunday cd...

the scratchy voice is awesome. i think it adds more character to the songs. more feeling!
They should record their next album with this new voice. More texture.
I think it sucks that most of you are looking for perfection in his voice and can't really appreciate that imperfection and how amazing things are when you accept and realize that..
very very true...they r the best band alive in my opinion
adam totally blew his voice out getting wasted or something the day before

Maybe I'm alone, but I like the sound of adam's raspy strain. Of course I like his old vocals to and how they've changed album to album... but this is cool. And I still love this song so much, so greatly written and constructed well :)

@ToxicatedLum Agree completely. John must just be having a bad day.
Matt Fazzi was New Again
@sk8brder40 No, not the 2006 interview. He has a CNN interview last January, I'll try to pick the link for you.
Do you think Adam knows that he's kind of blown his voice out over time?
I miss him on the Louder Now tour... He had perfect hair... and awesome stage presence... And he could sing the songs without it sounding painful :(. Where You Want To Be is my favorite album though.

ADAM YOU NEED TO STOP SMOKING

what happened to Adam's voice? it sounds like crap. I love it!!
@TheEverfoo222 It gives the song more emotion.
i think i like the sound of the vocals better on this idk i might just be weird
@NYR264 WTF? how old are you? they're still young
@ToxicatedLum dude i've seen pictures of him smoking and drinking even while onstage..and his live performances back in the day were a whole lot better compared to what they are now.
they should st drop the tuning to make it easier to sing poor lads
The imperfection has always been one of my favorite things about Adam's voice. If he didn't get off pitch or go squeaky sometimes, it'd be disappointing, IMO.
Did just Adam cough? Hahahaha
Oh dear god. I love this studio version but this looks painful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adam Lazzara was crushed by a tree once
ok, yo said "...when they were young..." and I said, They're still young. Maybe you meant, when they were younger
@allisonadam81 Cigarettes.
Adam you've gotten a little chubby.. he he
Adam has never had a crystal clear voice live.........Nothing wrong with that. I happen to like his grizzly tones. If you want perfect just listen to the CD's.
Disregard that I suck at guitar.
@ABRMetalHead you have no idea what you're on about.... his voice was warn out from all the other gigs he's done.
god adam looks old..
the other acoustic version they did was better
The lead singers voice sounds dead..
That other guy needs to stop
Its a shame. He completely smoked and drank his beautiful voice away. I still enjoy the record, but he has progressively diminished his talent at hitting those notes as time progressed.
TERRIBLE.
