    I was holding my breath at 9:07 when Conner was swinging the wrenches by the Stang and Torino. GJ Conner.

    By lifting the rear of the car your angles will change, diy wood stands are very poular for setting drive line and pinion angle if you dont have access to a drive on car lift. Just my 2 cents

      Appreciate it man! Love hearing this. I know the 30 min video's kills views...It just does stats show my 30 min vids only about 15% is actually watched...But for that 1 or two folks who enjoy it all or its really helping others I keep at it. My goal is to mix it up, some 10 min vids some longer.

    Sounds GREAT. AND ONE OF THE BEST explanations of setting pinion angle I’ve seen. Great job.

      Thanks appreciate it Jamey. This was all done off of Team-z's recommendations, nothing else. Ive set it before on my Torino, but honestly never looked at the engine to driveshaft angle.

    Excellent video. I used ramps under the rear wheels and heavy duty jack stands in the front and got the car as level as possible. You can use a valve cover also for angle reference point.

    I'm still confused lol I subbed, I'm about to order this setup for my 89 convertible. Hopefully it fits, I have a anti roll bar that is already in place. I'm going to call team Z before I order the kit. I just did their front k member and coil over kit. Nice videos.

    Hey man! So aluminum heads are terrible for headers. I've gone with stage 3 header bolts.. kind of like c-clips.. you'll see. I've not had a single bolt work itself loose since! I know you run boost so we're different there but I hope this helps! I 've also heard folks singing the praises of copper RTV as a replacement for header gasket. I haven't tried it but when you hear something so many times there must be some truth.. hope this helps.. and.. I've had a hard time lately and just got back into my car.. found that side GT moulding I was going to sent you so check your mail! Sorry for the delay.. life ... well it's not always awesome. Keep up the goodness and God bless you and yours!

    I need help with this pinion angle adjustment. Would you mind helping me. I can’t get my tranny and driveshaft angles to match. Don’t have tunnel clearance. And if I raise my pinion up any further, driveshaft will hit the tunnel. My numbers are -3.2, -1.4, +.5. Am I good with these numbers? Another question is if the nose of pinion is down, is that negative or positive?

    Just curious, when setting pinion angle the car doesn't have to be on the ground?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  2 роки тому

      No, but suspension needs to be loaded at ride height. This is why the angle is relative to engine angle, versus the earth, like using a level, since the car is sitting at an angle.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  4 роки тому +1

      You bet man! The F-150 is running Fox 2.0 front coilovers and a 1.5" rear lift block. The fox kit raised it almost 2.5" up front. Tires are BFG KO2 275/65/20. And Im running 1.5" wheel spacers on all 4, to help with the narrowish 275 tires. Next tires will be 295/60's to get a little more width on them.

    Shouldn’t the whole car be level? Front tires on the ground and rear on jack stands, even though the rear suspension is compressed it appears to me the angle on the pinion flange measurement won’t be correct.
    The axle flange is pointing downwards no?

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  4 роки тому

      No this works, because everything is in relation to the engine angle and driveshaft angle, not (earth or the garage floor). That why I zero it out or just do the math between the two. It confused me too, because with the rear of the car up in the air ALL angles are basically postive upslope. But this doesnt matter, as its the difference between the two. All angles are positive but the rear has 2.5 degrees more positive angle than the driveshaft giving it a -2.5 pinion angle. What "may" matter is the load on the rear jacks which might or might not be loaded a little more if it was on flat ground due to just gravity towards the front nose of the car when the rear is up...but this is negligible.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  4 роки тому

      But yes axle flange is pointed downwards in relation to the driveshaft angle.

    Tbh I think they look better with out tails. I cut all mine off. If you dump them after the axle they dont drone but if you dump before the axle they are a brain f*** imo.

    Everything I’ve read has said engine has about 2 degrees lean to the back.

    • @HOUSEOFDULA
      @HOUSEOFDULA  4 роки тому +1

      My setup and the zero drive angle was based on teamz recommendation when I called. Hopefully they are correct. Makes sense though you want the driveshaft straight as possible when under heavy axle load.

    • @pimpovic2
      @pimpovic2 4 роки тому

      Hence the final 2.3 degrees at the rear end. Engine and driveshaft are straight, together.

      Most Driveline angles are anywhere from 1* to 3* I've never heard of a zero Driveline angle as a standard.

      I have 3 degrees on my bone stock never taken apart 92 vert. I set up my 85 the same. Any less and your shifter will be sticking up into the car too high and trans will be hitting the tunnel.
