Within blender you already can with appending, outside of blender is harder to keep the materials and I still have to work on that

i like how you allowed for more freedom than nintendo's mii makers but kept the spirit of constrained creativity. things like unlocking rotation, free resizing, and per-part coloring is exactly they thing mii maker needed

1:30 the mii models are built into the console as opposed to in a game, which is why they're not on vg-resource. There was a tutorial a while back for extracting miis from Miitopia which might've been more accurate.
The WII OS is actually just its own game running on the console. you can load it into an emulator

This would apply to 3DS/Wii U/Switch? Miis, as all of them have a stored file containing all Mii models/textures. This would only apply to the heads though - and this will NOT apply to Wii (not Wii U) games.
Specifically on Wii it is stored on a per game basis, under RFL_Res.dat, but the file should be the same across any game
Speaking of which I'm currently ripping all miitomo models from the game and releasing them to the public to create the ultimate mii maker

This is amazing!! I think it’s going to be a game changer for Mii fans who want to create things with their Miis. before this, the only way you could get a rigged Mii model (as far as I’m aware) was to rip it yourself from Miitomo (the game those Deviantart models were from) or a select few other Mii games. As the Miis are normally stored on the console rather than the game, supposedly making them much harder to rip. The fact that you went out of your way to make sure that this mii maker is easy to use for anyone is just amazing too!! I really hope Nintendo doesn’t go after this video and/or your Mii maker

You just keyframe the bones you want to animate. Unless you mean a separate layer, then you should look into the NLA editor. I talk about it a little in the last video about how I made my avatar

This is like a dream come true for me. I had tried ripping my own mii out of miitomo years ago and ran into so many technical issues. Thank you for your hard work, I'm genuinely grateful, perhaps I should give the project I had in mind back in the day another try.

THANK YOU. I've been waiting for someone to make something like this, it's an extremely lengthy and difficult process to rip Mii models, but now we can just use this. If you do update it, please add even more face animations (if you haven't already), I'd love to use my Mii as like a VRChat avatar or something.

more models (like body etc) could be ripped from miitomo, but it's a very, VERY complicated and complex process.

Oh wow cool! And can you do mii games like MiiFun, MiiPlay, MiiSports MiiParty MiiAdventure too please, since we are a huge fan of Miis?
I wish the Mii editor was like the one in this video in the future with different ways to customize your character to your liking, from making it very thin, very muscular or very fat (Same as the Street Fighter 6 avatar creator and with a variety of Miitopia customization) as well as more hair styles, eyebrows, noses, eyes and mouths.

First time I tried blender I didn’t know you could get assets and just tried making everything from scratch I was trying to make an avatar for vrchat , It was so much work I gave up a week in haha .
I don't know if you made a Mii version of Robotnik or not, but if you or someone else did, this is what Robotnik will say:
" Great work, my three-dimensional art slave. You made a fine masterpiece of yours trrrruly! You will be my perfect 3D art slave to make me popular to all of Mobius...forever. Now, get in that three-dimensional dungeon, and get to work! AH HA HA HA HA HA!!!"

2:41 So the icons actually *are* accurate, but the reason they don't appear as such is because of the nose model. The models that go with the line on the nose tend to overlap the line somewhat.
