Stunning, pure outstanding craftsmanship. ... not a plan in sight, not a word spoken, no fancy powertools and cnc machines, just plain woodworking skills. Hats off to you man, you are the real deal
Saving the forests one project at a time
Thanks very much :)
As for his plans… I keep hoping to see at least some sketchings on a bar napkin or something… anything. Otherwise to keep it all in his head from conception to final coat of varnish is simply genius.
MrGibbie2210 - agreed 👍👍
It is not because you don't see it that there is no plan. Good woodworkers have detailed plan to avoid mistake, it is the first thing teached when studying woodworking. In french there is a proverb in woodworker world saying more or less "Who's singing while drawing, will cry when assembling".
I build like that. When you see something in your head and you basically know how’s it going to look, the math part just works itself out on its own..
Who needs flowers and a dinner out for Valentines day. I would be elated if I got this for Valentines day. Your wife is very luck lady. Beautiful craftsmanship.
my thoughts exactly.
What every quilter would love to have for all the different threads/colors. I can think of so many things that could go into that cupboard for quilting projects. Needles. thimbles, machine needles, bobbins and so many more things. Loved the work you do and cutting all that window glass for every little square, you are amazing and you have a very lucky wife to have you to make these things for her.
I can just hear your wife saying “ I just need something for my pins and needles “ and you come up with this masterpiece. One very lucky lady 😊
Absolutely exquisite workmanship, I’ve been sewing since I was 6 and I would adore something like this , I do have a shed though 😂 , beautiful work ❤
Thanks :)
I know as a crafter and person who sews, the person you made this for is truly blessed. Not only is this functional is is a stunning showpiece.
The simple lines of those doors would grace any room. The work that went into them was masterclass.
You are by far the best up-cycling woodworker on UA-cam. No outrageous price tags or annoying voice overs. Just pure high quality craftsmanship
I was speechless How can you keep making furniture and create a masterpiece in every project
I agree. It seems that every new build is better than the previous one. Those doors are incredible.
Ditto
My sentiments exactly! I'm always amazed at what he creates from pallet lumber!
And still keep your fingers 😅
I really cannot let my wife see this video ha ha. She has wanted something like this a long time but cannot find one to suit her. I tried to find an old cabinet to refit, poor woman thinks I can do anything. Looking at this masterpiece, I doubt myself, ha ha. Thanks again for sharing your skills with us.
I love the parts in these videos where I think, "Wait a minute... what is he up to now?" And then you make something that's already awesome even more amazing. Thanks!
OMG! That is awesome! I want one! You are a master craftsman!
Thanks :)
A true labor of love. 💗 😊
Multiple drawers, homemade mouldings, and a load of wood saved from the skip by a quiet patient wood rescuing hero. Another Epic project has landed, and made the world a slightly better place. Thank you.
This is just outstanding work. You're not a wood worker, you're an artist. Beautiful craftsmanship.
Thanks very much :)
Always a real pleasure and inspiration thank you
Any sewer/quilter would be truly blown away by a gift like this! I'd probably cry 😂my face off. It is so very beautiful and so well thought out! I stand all amazed!😮
Thanks very much :)
@EpicUpCycling May the coming Holiday Season bring joy to you and your bride!
It is fantastic to watch you work! MMC just mentioned you when I was watching his channel. I am so glad he did. Fabulous storage rack!♥
Thanks very much :)
Mrs Epic your husband is making me very envious and probably every other sewing out there. Congratulations on a good choice🤣🤣😉😉👏👏👏👏👏
Outstanding! Lucky wife! I could use a husband like you too, heh, heh. What a superb cabinet for sewing. You could even add more fold out racks of thread in the top half, so much space. Loved the music this time. Very nice, thank you!
Thanks very much :)
This cabinet represents true craftsmanship. This man possesses amazing skills and you can tell how much he loves to work with wood.
👍🏽
Your way more than a craftsman, this is an art. I enjoy your videos, Thanks for taking time to record, edit and post these. They are inspirational.
That's very kind of you, thanks very much :)
Hi Jason, your skills with wood, metal and glass are at a level that are so far above most UA-camrs as being called 'epic' is an understatement. You really are showing the rest of us what can be achieved by re-using scrap materials. Yet another beautiful piece.
It looks like Mrs epic is also skilled, maybe a collaborative work in the future.🤔 👍🏻
I love watching you work, but those doors,in my opinion, are the prettiest things you’ve ever done!
Thanks very much :)
I’ve been woodworking since the carpenters at grade 1 of my school gave us all the offcuts pine bucket of nails and hammer each. I well remember sorting the off cuts for 3 pieces same dimension. I carefully crafted a stool whilst others just banged nails about....that was 1953. In my shed now ( shed I built beside the house I built) are 2 caravans (camper trailers). 1 is all but done and the other almost. One aluminium Airstream copy the other Pino 2010 copy I built onto the trailer I made years ago. This Christmas I’ll take one of them up or down the coast (Australia Qld) with a for sale sign. Then take the other n do same they are built as weekenders or coffee kiosks. Why am I telling you all this? Because men like this inspire me. Give me reason to keep trying. Your workshop is so clean and tidy...mine is not. I have multiple measures sic cos I keep losing them. I am unable to make what you have done here. Hey, I’m only 76 so got another 20yrs or so to learn....after I start and finish a special camper trailer that is already in my mind.
Please keep inspiring us...I plan on living way beyond a 100yrs maybe a 1000 so I’ve got the time....
This guy is a wonderful mad genius!!! I came across this guy by random circumstance on UA-cam. Watched the one video, then subscribed and been watching all his videos since. Even followed him on FaceBook. Wish he sold his creations, but I haven't found where if he does.
Your wife must be thrilled. This is a work of art and a family treasure. Are you interested in adding new family members? 😂 thanks for letting us watch the build. Totally enchanting. Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks very much.
Happy Thanksgiving :)
You are a very great artist for me and always inspire me with your projects."
Thanks very much :)
The Battle of the Drying Rack killed me 😂
Most intense battle I've watched in my life 👌
You truly are an amazing carpenter! God bless you! You remind me of my great-Uncle Everett who also was a quit carpenter, I used to sit in his workshop and watch him work. Because of him I have always wanted to learn carpentry too!
Thanks very much :)
My dream cabinet! Anyone who works with sewing, kniting or crochet would love that!
Bet wishes from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
I can never let my wife see this! :-P I am awed by the range of vintage niche specialist (an unfortunately legacy tools) I see in your videos from the types of planes to the 'yankee' screwdriver. My dad had one and a stanley plane, nothing near the workshop or range of tools you have but a humble garage I have many fond memories of making and breaking things in. I have an affinity for hand tools as they so effortlessly demonstrate the fact that its not the tool thats most important but the craftsmanship of the one wielding it, if you spend any time using any handtools you get a healthy respect for the craft involved and a deeper appreciation of what craftsmanship really means. I am simply mesmerized by the level of master craftsmanship displayed in every video, I hope to be watching them for years to come and that you have some apprentice or other who you are passing this incredible knowledge and experience on to.
OMG! I sew want an exact duplicate.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It is a practical, perfect design for a sewing cabinet. I wish a commercially sold sewing cabinet addressed thread storage in this way. Every color can be seen while the thread is protected from dust and the environment.💜💜💜
I am stunned at this workmanship and utility wrapped up in beauty all from scrap. My sewing room is jealous.
Maaan!! If had made that for my mother or wife back in my day, I think I’d still be married and invited over for supper on weekends at moms house..!😂🙏🏻❤️
Beautiful piece Sir!
I could pass hours before your stunning creations. You have this insane quality to give life to any piece of "reclaimed" wood, seen as valueless from many others.
WOW, perfect craftmanship from start to finish
Thanks :)
It's unbelievable what you do in your videos. I know countless colleagues who buy a bunch of expensive and large tools and machines and can't even come close to achieving what you show us in your videos. Keep up the good work.
Best wishes from Germany.
Thanks very much :)
You are truly gifted in the work you do , it's a pleasure to watch you
That is awesome!! I need one of those 😊
Loved how you just made sure the dry rack was really dead before you stripped it of parts 😂. Absolutely love what you did. Now I am off to ask my husband why he doesn't love me... 😅😊
Thanks, Jason...... My Wife just saw this and guess what?..... 🤣 Oh well, this Winters project will be to build 'Er indoors a cabinet to keep her paints etc in.
Such a joy to watch a true craftsman at work. Thank you
Beautiful, useful and I am certain that your wife greatly appreciates it too.
What a blessed woman has a man like this. We are all jealous…
I was fine, just regular impressed, up until you started working on the doors. Then I started being SUPER impressed about how much you love your wife. That is the best thread and findings cabinet I've ever seen.
O.M.G. There are no words to describe just how absolutely beautiful that craft storage cupboard is. All the hours and love you put into this one piece you wife will use it for many years to come
I think what I enjoy most about these videos is of course the craftsmanship, but what I most enjoy the craftsmanship without the reliance on the brand name items. This is not to say you are not using quality tools. I don’t think anyone doubts that quality tools are necessary. But there’s not this huge emphasis on Festool or dewalt or Milwaukee products. I pretty sure I’ve seen you use dewalt drill but it’s not some emphasized matter. There’s no call to attention that you may or may not be sponsored by so and so company. Your craftsmanship truly speaks for itself. It’s inspiring. Salute to you sir 👌🏾
Thanks very much.
Sooo beautiful... Your wife lucky, having a husband with golden hands is happiness❤
Sir, I imagine your house is beautiful with all these wonderful pieces of forniture
I don't blame her! This is the arts/crafts supply cabinet of any craft artist's dreams! What a lucky lady!
Also, your epic battle with the metal drying rack was hysterical! Sometimes I'd swear those things are inhabited by the vengeful spirits of the "darned". I bet it felt so good to clip that thing into little bitty pieces!
Boy somebody is going to be very happy. Great job.
I think I commented on another vid of yours that if you have a son, he’s incredibly lucky. The same is true for your wife!
I have come to love the simple, yet elegantly thought-out details of your woodworking. I also have come to be inspired by how you look at many things society has deemed trash, but with your craftsman's eyes, you see value & beauty in it. I am trying to do much more of this because of you albeit nowhere at your level. The blending of hand tools and modern machinery is fascinating and much appreciated. Lastly, your approach to how you work and the steady even speed is so underrated, so many channels are only about the finished thing. The joy you obviously have is well worth the journey! Don't ever lose your love of what you do here!
By ANY MEASURE, you sir are a MASTER at your craft!
Thanks very much, Donnie :)
And, as usual, the finished product does not disappoint!
Epic! Most folk would have put a design over a single pane of glass, you cut little squares and rectangles of glass to fill in the design. Your wife is a very lucky woman!
I would like to see some "behind the camera" like cleaning up or how you find the scrap wood and so on❤
всегда с удовольствием смотрю ваши ролики ювелирная ручная работа. Спасибо вам что бережете природу перерабатывая старые полеты
Your wife definitely has bragging rights. That is absolutely, phenomenal.
Well done.
Thanks very much :)
Mrs Epic is a very lucky lady! Two creative people in one household, that's great, you both have a better understanding of each others needs and wants. Do you have children? If so are they creative or the polar opposite? I love watching you and your work. Maybe Mrs Epic will start You Tubing as well? OOO very Rennie MacKintosh!
Jason, this is fabulous. I'm sure your wife is thrilled with all of your work, but, yeah, as a craftaholic myself, I see the appeal of this one!
Thanks. My wife really likes this project :)
No wonder you're wife likes this - the whole thing is just so beautiful, it's simply stunning. The detail and craftsmanship are second to none. You really do spoil us with these videos - is there anything you can't do ? Once again a remarkable piece of woodworking and an excellent video for us all to enjoy and drool over.
Thanks very much :)
One can only marvel in awe. We all know that Obelix fell into the potion cauldron as a child and has been incredibly strong ever since. You must have fallen into a cauldron of magic potion as a child and have had this incredible talent and skill ever since. There is no other way to explain it. I wouldn't even come up with the idea for such a work of art. ❤
You're absolutely correct in calling this a work of art!
Yeah. Stunning work mate.
Thanks :)
Now your titles expand to include glazier, as well as a machinist, woodworker, expert carver of metal and wood. You are just amazingly gifted.
Браво чудесный шкафчик для мастерицы ❗Завидую Вашей жене.Ей очень повезло с мужем.
Wow even the glass is recycled, thats awesome. Nice of you do something for your wife
I have just found your channel and am thoroughly enjoying going back through your videos and watching them. Your craftsmanship is absolutely astonishing. This is a beautiful piece of design, perfectly executed. Mrs Epic (I love it!) is a very lucky lady to have such a bespoke cabinet for her sewing supplies. I noticed that gorgeous mallet with the Celtic knot design you used, being Irish I love Celtic knot work, and see that you have a video about that too so I’m off to watch that next! It’s wonderful to see true craftsmanship alive and well in amongst all the mass produced generic factory made stuff. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and skills.
Your work is the literal definition of art and precision, every video is an inspiration.
Thanks very much :)
This was beyond brilliant. I'd be honoured just sweeping up after you 😆
Wow.....every household needs one of these. Beautiful work, thank you for sharing.
i agree Every household deserves a Jason!!!! lol
Beautiful work ❤
Thanks :)
Absolutely fantastic. Loving the doors - very Mackintosh. Great to see a shooting board in use. Mrs Epic is a very lucky lady to have this made for her. Brilliant and inspiring as ever.
A very useful item. Gorgeaus hands and of course a clever mind.
Thanks :)
Oh, WOW!!! I was super impressed with the cabinet already - then you got to the door panels. AMAZING! I know you were working with scraps you had on-hand, but something similar, using stained glass, would be breathtaking.
SIXTY FOUR INDIVIDUAL LIGHTS!!
As always, fantastic skills, presented perfectly.
Cheers from Dallas
Thanks very much :)
We need more arts and crafts furniture created! Excellent 😍
I think we all agree, you take carpentry to the next level, i say again i wish I had half the skill you have,i would be a very happy chappie, well done once again.
Thanks Paul :)
That is so beautiful! Loved the doors! And the added roundover for the swivel doors was cool!
Wonderful!
I love that your work highlights the true meaning of "quality." It's not necessarily about the base materials, or the tools employed. Everything you do has the ultimate attention to functionality, thoughtful design, and careful finishing. Most of us could probably never afford what your work should be worth. Thanks as always for sharing.
Thanks very much :)
Handcrafted beauty, just made me smile with a moist pair of eyes. 😎👍
Incredible and amazing!!!
You always turn trash to treasure 👍👍
Your ability to create beauty in combination with function is an artform. Thankyou for sharing your talent and giving me ideas on how to improve.
Mrs Epic is a very lucky lady to have a very clever hubby, I just designed my raft area at Ikea. Hand made is so much nicer.
Every time you use your wooden mallet with the carved knotwork, it makes me smile. Any idiot can fit a block of wood on a stick and hit stuff with it. So easy to spot a true craftsman. Continue to tap with elegance and style, Mr. Epic.
What too many folks don't seem to realize is that before you can actually set about making something, you have to figure out HOW to make it. That's the part that separates the men from the boys.
My admiration Sir and congratulations to your wife!
Thank you for offering us the possibility of the extraordinary experience of seeing a workshop in harmony with the artisan who works in it.
Simply amazing nobody does it better.
All of it was beautifully crafted but the doors are outstanding!!
Thanks :)
Love the way your mind works Jason, and think you've gone up another level for Mrs. Epic. The pivot drawers, the intricate glass panels and the recalcitrant clothes horse. Genius.
Thanks Mandy :)
Let's face it...
The thumbnail says it all.
👍💯👍
I have now gone through all the videos of you and I have to say, I also build a lot and thought I was creative and have imagination, but your projects take the whole thing to other heights. Building these projects with the simplest means is already fierce and ingenious. I would like you to have plans to download for some of the projects, of course not for nothing. Otherwise, keep it up, it's just incredible what you're building.
i absolutely love the doors!
Howdy Maestro!! Totally ingenius Jason!!! Love how you did the doors, mission Or arts & crafts style if I remember correctly! Simply stunning as always!! Hugs from Kenny Ohio USA!!!!!!
Thanks Kenny, glad you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to build :)
It's nice to watch you create. I learn something new with each build. Thanks.
I never get tired watching you make great creations. You are very creative. Best part all work no talking.
Thanks very much :)
I want one! ❤❤
This creation is spectacular! Any craftsperson would be thrilled with the thought and detail you put into this. How you must love your wife!
Man, you’re good.
Stunning and beautiful a true master at work
Thanks very much :)
I look forward to your designs.
