The surface parts are my favorites, enjoyed it with "ghost mode" so much, the sun, the sirens, the gun sounds.. Damn... They did such a good job with it.
H.E.C.U soldier on radio: "Come in Cooper!" "do you copy?" "Cooper do read me?" "Forget About Freeman!" "We're abandoning the base!" If you have any last bomb targets....mark them on the Tactical Map! "Otherwise Get the hell OUT of there! Repeat.....*HECU talking in background* Random HECU: LETS GET GOING! "Give us targets or get below! Over?"
"FORGET ABOUT FREEMAN! WE'RE CUTTING OUR LOSSES AND ARE PULLING OUT!!" "ANYBODY LEFT DOWN THERE IS ON HIS OWN, REPEAT IF YOU AREN'T ALREADY, YOU ARE NOW- OH SHIT! NO! NO NO NO NO-" *Explosion* *Radio cuts out*
Meanwhile... H.E.C.U. Soldier: "Shephard, you’ve made it. I take it you didn’t find Freeman? Forget it Corporal. We are pulling out. The air strike has started. Get to the hangar while we await evac!"
it would actually be considered a mix between a STH-10 and a 2T22 or 3T22 because of the point on the top of the siren. Edit: I accidently wrote STH-10 not STL-10 xd.
I love how the two times this siren appears are when the story experiences a major shift. In We've Got Hostiles, the game shifts from trying to escape Black Mesa to trying to end the Incident due to the surface being infested with HECU. It's appearance at the end of Surface Tension and the start of Forget about Freeman coincide with the end of the demonstration of the true power of Xen's forces.
I only recently got this game through the Christmas steam sales and I can remember is playing with a really good headset up full volume just as Gordon reaches the surface this alarm going off the HECU soldiers trying kill me with their guns and motor fire just complete utter chaos and this is coming from a 1st timer
Little did the HECU know of just what exactly they got sent in to do. Not just an already sketchy cover up, but to hold back an unknowable threat. And said threat was already on the run from something far worse
Black mesa has parts of it originating from a Cold War era military base, possibly a nuclear silo and an airbase. The laboratories were expansions from this original facility Either of those would’ve needed an alert siren, which easily explains the presence of such a siren.
everybody gangsta until grandpa throws a grenade in the room
We've got hostiles
it's all fun and games, until grandpa says "we've got hostiles" in a robotic and distorted voice

Ahh reminds me of when I played this on my speakers loudly and my family got scared.. ahh good times.
When I was returning to my interest about sirens, I remembered that the Black Mesa air raid siren is the STH-10 but with less horns
it would actually be considered a mix between a STH-10 and a 2T22 or 3T22 because of the point on the top of the siren.

@Wilson Stone yes.
0:03 I liked that one alarm when the siren is making sound

The combine…
I get goose bumps everytime i hear this siren in black mesa.
Yeah, it's very immersive.
Finally somebody made a video on the sound effect.
Thats a 2001 but the siren shown in the rest are Federal Signal STH-10s
idk but the little alarm between the siren is relaxing lol
Bro imagine innocent scientists feelings 💀
Sounds like a system of 2001-DCs and a Thunderbolt 1003 on chopper 1 doing pulse
Perfect
put we got hostiles or Forget About Freeman over this it fits so well
The siren heard is a federal signal 2001. I have the original if anyone wants to see or hear
I would love to hear the original video this was taken from, I don't remember what the sirens model in-game was based off of tho
@@miodragjr the model is based of of a federal signal 3t22 without a lower layer of cones.

Yeah me too your right
That sound for the nuke alarm was a air raid siren

fun fact: the federal signal sth 10 is a mix of a 2t22 and 3t22 with a sth 10
Maybe It can use for eas mock scenarios background siren
This sounds like a Federal signal 2001 Or possibly a T-128 or 508.
