Yes, this really started the entire MTV craze. When this video came out, we couldn't believe what we were seeing. The video was way better than any other at that time.
I love any era of MJ .No matter anyone's opinion about MJ you all must admit this man was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT.There has not been anyone since then has ever came close to his talent.RIP Michael you are greatly missed .😢🎵🎶❤Thank you for sharing these memories with us.
Invincible album is so good
His performance of this on the 25th anniversary of Motown is a must watch. He breaks out the moonwalk for the first time and brought the house down. Really cool.
I was going to say the same thing. That was all people talked about for days later. It was crazy!
Of course you know what it looks like when someone walks into a room, flips the switch, and the light comes on. The night I saw Motown 25, it was like Michael walked into our living room, flipped a switch, and all of the lights in Dodgers Stadium came on in our house. The only reason I slept that night was because we didn’t own a VCR yet, so once it went off, I eventually calmed down and went to bed.
Brought the house down? He brought the world to it's knees that night.
This might blow your mind but MJ didn’t invent the moonwalk
This video was the first video by a Black artist to ever be featured on the still new MTV. This video came out in 1983 and MTV had only been around for 2 years and, believe it or not, they kinda had a non black video policy. CBS Records was the label Michael was signed to at the time and the President of CBS Records at the time, Walter Yetnikoff, threatened to pull all the other artists they had from the channel if they didn’t play it. Then their ratings skyrocketed and Michael was there pushing the envelope of what a music video should be with videos like “Beat It” and the 14 minute long “Thriller” short film that soon followed that same year and Michael was the leading influencer in music videos. MTV probably wouldn’t have been as big as it was without Michael and particularly this video. It opened the door for other black artists to be featured on MTV like Prince, Lionel Richie, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, and his own sister Janet.
They didn't have a "kind of" non black policy. It was a full no black policy until after what you said.
All eras of Michael Jackson. I was born in 1958 the same year and Prince and Michael so they are both my favorite male artists of my lifetime
Love Michael Jackson so much. He was once in a lifetime
If you watch his early work you can see the star quality in him
Starting with Off the Wall,he began his journey as a solo artist and became the legend he was.
He was,is the best❤
David Williams became a popular session guitarist, playing on albums by the Pointer Sisters (1980), Peter Allen (1980), Aretha Franklin (1980) and the Four Tops (1981). In 1982, he was used once again on Michael Jackson's Thriller album, where his signature funky strumming and a minimalist solo famously anchor "Billie Jean".
It was David Williams played the guitar on Billie Jean.
You guys should listen to his “Off The Wall” album, it released 1979. This album sealed his future for a solo career.
Greatest song ever! And top left, best movie ever! 🤟
I have loved Michael Jackson since the early 70's he is a beautiful innocent man... he has been blessed to have had that much talent... he was so giveing and people treated him so unfairly 😢😢 R I Paradise my friend ❤❤❤
Michael Joseph Jackson, the greatest entertainer of all time. I was three when he did this on Motown 25, and as iconic and game changing as it was, him being with his brothers was magic. Michael was at his best when he was with them, that's the real Michael. Thank goodness for UA-cam and for the ones who saved all this old time shows and stuff for us younger crowd who wasn't born during the J5 era, can now see it. Mike was electric when he was performing with his brothers. Remember The Time is my favorite video by him, and my favorite song by him is called Happy. He was only twelve when he recorded it, but he went off on it. There will never be another Michael Jackson
King of Pop!!!
Eddie Van Halen Played on The "BEAT IT". Song on this album....
Check out our Van Halen Playlist!!
He only played the solo. The rest is the legend known as Steve Lukather!
MJ is the goat🎉
Sorry lads you can't watch Billie Jean without seeing it live. That way you get the breakdown at the end etc.
I liked all eras of Michael. We were the same age so we basically grew up together.
OFF THE WALL is the absolute bomb. Best album of his ever.
This is a classic everyone knows but I recommend you guys watch other Michael Jackson music videos like"dirty Diana" "leave me alone" "earth song" and "remember the time"
When ever I see this video, who remembers the Steve Martin SNL skit. I can't get that out of my mind when I see this video.
The 80ies were the best time of his career and songs, absolutly
Off the wall and Thriller were my favorite albums.
We have the great producer Quincy Jones to thank for this track - when he and Michael were recording the Thriller album, Q was not satisfied with the songs M was bringing to the studio and told him, "We need a hit." Well, they got one. Thriller is still the highest selling album of all time and it's not even close.
Billie Jean is my #1 favorite Michael Jackson song
The "Moonwalk" actually was first introduced by dancer Bill Bailey from 1955.
Can't pick an era.. I just love all Michael.. I love the fact that I was stopped in an airport.. Are you Michael Jackson.. no. I'm Michelle Jackson. and at the time.. I had a tan going on.. I was darker than Michael.. lol.. but I love his music. I grew up in the 80's.. Michael was so talented.
Guys, I was 10 years old when this video came out, and I remember that afternoon perfectly. Yes, this was a breakthrough in production values although obviously videos would become more polished after a few years. I didn’t see it first on MTV. HBO had something called Video Jukebox, where they would play one or two videos after a movie so that the time slots would line up with the top of the hour. I still like this video best.
You should do thriller or captain EO , or Michael Jackson’s full ghost movie all are phenomenal
yea thriller music video is cool asf
@@rosa_stars349 damn right lol
Seriously. Thriller Michael Jackson every day.
80s No Doubt!!!
I LOVE Michael Jackson, he was 5 years older than me, so in a way I grew up with him! Yes, I love Thriller Michael Jackson, but I love bad MJ even better. Off the wall mmm he was fine, He was Mr. goody 2 shoes during Thriller but I LOVED him a little badder. Sigh. I love MJ in ever phase!! I really can't pick one! I miss him being on this earth, and I feel so lucky to have grown up with J5 and MJ, and I sure miss him being in the World! I miss his father in law Elvis and his Lisa Marie too- all great artists! Please do some Lisa Marie Presley music when you can!!
Off The Wall was probably my favorite MJ era, but 'Thriller' and 'Man in the Mirror' are two of my all time MJ songs.
'Rock With You' is my number one MJ song.
80s but Jackson 5 love it too. Earth song, will you be there, little mike with his brothers
Michael Jackson was another iconic musical artist. Watching him in the Jackson 5 (usually on SoulTrain) and then bursting onto the ‘scene’ as a solo performer were great years to growing up.
Thriller is still the biggest selling album of all time,it was released in 1982!
70s and 80s, cuz he was at his height in the 80s but he was also great as a child with the Jackson 5.
My favourite album of his would 100% be his last album, Invincible. they are really r&b centred Michael shows his lower notes and his vocals/harmonizing is amazing. his 2007 era was cool
Really love the Dangerous Era and HIStory/Blood On The Dance Floor HIStory In the Mix Era
oh Also The Guitar Was Played By David Wliliams.

1 Billie Jean Michael Jackson
Loved them all ❤️
All of his Era is great.
I believe the guitar was played by Steve Lukather of Toto. Other than the EVH solo on Beat It, Steve did most of the guitar work on the album
Billie Jean is about Diana Ross telling a 11 Year Old Michael that She was His real Mother. Diana Ross is Billie Jean and Michael was the kid in the Song.
I love all of MJ music 🎶
Love MJ🎉
I was a kid in the 80’s and MJ was a god back then. I had his and Prince’s posters on my walls, and I was 6. MTV was life.
Mine is definitely 80's MJ.
These twins are so cute!
❤MJ❤
Smooth Criminal dance moves are still performed today and look very modern.
Michael jackson, lenda rei do pop
Billie Jean, based a acreal stalker that stalked Michael, during the early year, her story js on line, her name is Lavin Powlis, She filed a lawsuit against him

You have to react to Michael Jackson- 25th anniversary Mowtown special . The first time he did the Moonwalk on tv . 🔥.
Guys - You have to watch "Dirty Diana" that was the MJ we didn't see that much, but it is an awesome video!
I like the Dangerous album era
steve Lukathur may have played the Gutar on this song
Blessed to have had MJ and Prince in my time. I believe that Prince is a musical Genius, but MJ was a great pop star.
Personally I love the songs in Off The Wall and Thriller album, but for the hottest MJ era, for me it's the BAD era hahahaha. You should check his Bad World Tour at Wembley in 1988. The album was also a hit and the second biggest selling album of all time!!! (after Thriller). Thanks for the reaction, please do more MJ!!
Yeah this video was cutting edge back then.. those effects were very difficult to do.. only a few tiles could be wired to light up and MJ had to remember which ones and they had to be manually switched on from a distance. There was no electronics back then.. only electrical stuff.. all special effects had to be practically done.
Michael e' il genio della misica ...amatelo e ascoltatelo....l'ultimo album Invincible del 2001 e' meraviglioso!!! Un regalo di Amore❤my Era is '90 and last album....ciao, from Italy❤😊
History era hit diffy

The BAD era!
Please do a reaction to Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson song Dead Sea off of her debut album wilted.
You should listen to Adam's Song by Jackson Browne. I love the fact you don't stop the songs or talk during them. That's incredibly irritating when reactors do that.
yes its a wonderful song... pls react to Dirty Diana music video by Michael Jackson thank you
👍👍💯
Tito Jackson play the guitar 🎸 solo
Just to let you know that Halloween is coming up so please react to Michael Jackson Official song Thriller
The video was weird brother. It was symbolizing the press following him at the time and him disappearing not giving them the scandal they seek, this the lights everywhere he steps and the disappearing from the antagonist of the video etc...
Do his little sister Janet Jackson Pleasure Principal

REACT IS LUCAS INUTILISMO BRASIL -2023 IN ONE SONG 🇧🇷
Good Job! Michael said that the reason "Billie Jean" was written was the rumors that one of his brothers at any given time got some girl pregnant was just about a constant thing (listen to the lyrics) Okay.....moving on now, yes, watch the1983 Motown 25 special clip of Michael doing the moonwalk for the very first time! The crowd reaction is amazing! May I suggest as a future MJ song to react to is "She's out of my life" off the "Off the wall" album released in 1979. Try not to cry! The 1970's and 1980's were an extremely high quality era of music! The production, talent, and emotion put into each song was at a very high quality. That level will never be reached again! I am 54 years old, I am fortunate to have grown up in that era!
You didn’t get the story behind Billie Jean quite right haha. It was Michael himself who experienced what he’s singing about. A woman claimed that MJ was the father of her twins, even stalked him, jumped over the gates of his Hayvenhurst Home, demanded a DNA test which he agreed to in order to stop that and she even attacked his security guard lol. She wanted "Child support" and Michael took her to court multiple times because she wouldn’t stop. She went to jail multiple times and every time she got out she just kept going all the way up till MJ’s death.
I still miss him every day
we lost him way too early.💔
I'm 67 and back in the 80's the videos on MTV were like mini movies that told fun stories!! And Michael Jackson's were some of the best!!!
Beginning of big change in the country... M-TV.... Takeover.......
Smooth criminal Michael Jackson! And black and white!
All from beginning to end.
Hi guys, I just subscribed to your channel. I like your Michael Jackson reactions. Maybe you guys can react to In The Closet or Earthsong from Michael. I’m a big MJ fan and it’s hard to choose my favorite album but I really love the Dangerous album!
The Billie Jean live performance from the History Tour in Germany is also iconic, especially the last few minutes where Michael only dances. It’s really amazing, you won’t regret watching it (maybe you guys already did haha) 👍♥️ thanks again!
React: Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal (Official video)
One of the best songs! Love the video. MJ was a talent like no other. This was Michael's peak. THRILLER was a monster album with so many hit songs. His videos broke down the color barrier on MTV and made MTV leap into the stratosphere. Say what you will about Michael, his talent overshadows any BS people want to say about him. Yes, he became a bit eccentric as his fame catapulted him into a realm not many could handle, combined with his wealth he was unable to be normal. Being as famous as he was since the age of 5 I would imagine that one would be a little odd from the get and while he did create a unique world around himself that many simply could not relate to or understand, it seems clear as to why. But like most people that make it to the top, we also love to bring them down. Fortunately, MJ's talent is still recognized to this day by kids today.
Billie Jean as a video made MTV what it was. Before this video and "Beat It", MTV was only playing white artists whose videos were mainly concert driven or simply had no rhyme or reason to them. The art form of video being movie-like was created by MJ. From there the record industry saw video as a means of selling albums. The $$$ pushed the music industry to give larger budgets to videos from there on. But no one topped MJ's $14 million dollar budget for "Thriller".
The guitarist for this song was David Williams. He is a session player on a lot of funkier, predominantly black artist albums. He was also on MJ's OFF THE WALL album.
