It always kills me that people forget the most important factor about this video.
This was the first video by a black artist ever on MTV. It opened the door for every other black artist to showcase their videos on MTV which was the most popular and influential music video show in history. This video broke the barrier.
I know a lot of younger people today don't get the weight of that but from the 80's - 2000's, music videos were the premiere way we got to see artists. We didn't have the internet to instantly see someone or something. We had to wait for these shows to come on tv and show the music videos. But that made them that much more special to gather around with friends and family to watch them.
Absolutely
Agreed, if you were not there you wouldnwouldn'tt understand. UA-cam cant capture the impact or context. Also, most music videos were not this well produced with story and dancing and were mostly just bands or individuals singing with green screen or some backdrop.
Actually Thriller was the first Michael Jackson video to be shown on MTV.
@@StMichael7 Billie Jean was January 2, 1983 , Thriller was November 5, 1983 The "Billie Jean" music video, directed by Steve Barron, was the first video by a black artist to be aired in heavy rotation on MTV
The King of Pop (music),
The Greatest Performer/Entertainer
Of All-Time, MJ!🐐👑💯😊👍
10,000 impersonators and none of them moved like MJ.
Imitated but never duplicated 🤴🏾
Chris Tucker comes close.. trust me Michael would agree
@@ninjavigilante5311 but he did the wrong leg
Besides Daniel Cloud Campos who know all the moves of MJ and is also a breakdance and hip hop dance world elite. And back in the early days MJ copied the moves and the clothing style of Michael Chambers (aka Boogaloo Shrimp). In a pure dance battle in mid 80s to 90s Boogaloo Shrimp would have won versus MJ and that easily. MJ was the best allrounder (singer, dancer, entertainer) ever, he never was the best dancer ever.
It's just entertainment. He was a greart entertainer along with being a gifted singer. I didn't folow him but he was everywhere. I respect the fame he earned. Nothing fake about his talent.
These reaction vids are my favorites, happy to have discovered your channel.
Aww you are so sweet, thank you so much
Michael made his professional debut at the age of 6, in 1964, with his elder brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon as a member of their singing group The Jackson 5 then when they quit michael went on becoming a big star
They were actually signed up to another record company - steeltown records - before being introduced to berry gordy and suzanne de passe from motown, and then history began
Seems strange to watch this short film without seeing MJ do his famous breakdown at the end (live).
Or the Moonwalk after he hit the "Hee" "Hoo" 😩
King of POP forever👑
Amazing, stunning. Drums intro made by the master (R.I.P) Ndugu Leon Chancler, who performed with Santana band back in the 70`s. This was a monster big hit song, and the entire 1982 "Thriller" album as well, and today, makes the people get on the floor and start to dance. A timeless song, coming from a this truly genius from american Rythm and Blues, Soul music, formerly a member of The Jacksons band, with his brothers. To much material to check as well. Cheers, sweet heart, take care.
Michael Jackson was the best, and always will be the best also smooth, criminal song from him when he did his first movie moonwalk that’s was awesome and amazing Happy new years everybody out there.
Irina if you have never seen it I think you would enjoy both Thriller and Smooth Criminal by MJ videos. Lots of dancing and choreography you might enjoy.
Fun fact, he was previously married to Elvis Presley's daughter 😽
Wait, what????

This video is the 25th Motown anniversary with his brothers singing songs from when they were the young band, called the Jackson 5 and at the end, his brothers leave, the stage and he does the live version of Billie Jean, one of the best live performances you’ll ever see in your life !!
ua-cam.com/video/BUcUS2cIieA/v-deo.html
I agree. She needs to see the 25th Motown Anniversary version live. God bless you!
Merry Christmas.... hope you have a great holiday season. This song (and his performance at Motown 25) are epic.

Nice reaction as always 👍
This came out in 1982. I was 13. It was awesome.
Michael jackson was like a magician on stage. Nobody better than him
Michael Jackson I love your reaction ✨mor reaction video thank you so much ❤️. 🌏🕊️🌏🕊️
I love the Russian people. 🌹 ✨ 💞
I think what you were referring to were photo, or film, negatives. Used to use those to make multiple photos, or overlap and splice them together for different effects.
Micheal Jackson..awesome
He was very talented
That’s the understatement of the century lol
Check out "Dirty Diana" and "Smooth Criminal" also.
I loved 😍
Different from many modern pop artists, MJ used some of the best musicians while writing and recording his albums. For example, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Lukather & most of the band Toto, Paul McCartney, and David Foster to mention a few, played and/or wrote music for this album (Thriller).
The story is that Billie Jean is a girl claiming that Michael is the father of her child and Michael denies that. So they get into a lawful problem with each other. If you remember the lyrics 'For 40 days and for 40 nights law was on her side'. At the video you can see a person that looks like a private investigator or reporter. He's following Michael in order to take pictures of him, mostly with Billie Jean, to prove that they are in fact lovers. Then a newspaper appears, saying 'Billie Jean Scandal' and of course, the press never lets scandals fade away, that's why that photographer or reporter follows Michael. As for the floor that glows when Michael walks, I personally believe that that is related to the fact that in the song's story Michael was being talked around, followed and accused. Everything he would do, someone would be there watching. So the glowing steps symbolise the fact that he was being always spied and watched. The song and the video are related, just think deeply about it.
She should pin your response at the top.
Felt old when I started watching this , felt ancient by the time this ended . 😉
his videos are the best watch thriller unbelievable it was most expensive video made at the time spent millions on it fantastic there will never be another Michael Jackson so many good songs and the videos no one dune what he did
Another song I love
michael kinda taught me a little bit of english and how to dance when i was a child. i even had an arcade(?) game for the megadrive videogame 😂😅
This was "The" music video that revolutionized music videos as a whole, if this didn't aired music videos would've been dead by now. This Short Film/Music Video really marked an important fundamental change in music history it shifted culture in general and MJ MADE MTV PERIOD!!!😤👊🏽👑🖤💕🔥✨(Please React to Michael Jackson “Dirty Diana” Music Video he’s The Greatest Music Artist Of All Time FOREVER!)
good to see you again
The G.O.A.T.
I recommend that you read the Wiki page about the song - it's inspired by a true-life CRAZY event.
The album Thriller and most of the videos was released in the year 1983 or 1984
Mj still a legend to this day since his death. Please react to Selena Gomez hands to myself.
This is such a good song IMO
I love the lyrics to this song. Sadly I don't think people pay attention to what he's actually saying. Great song!
@@cheriacole7114 Very true good point
You might be referring to splicing frames or also overlapping frames for effect - today we often do that both in audio and video and call it mixing. Back then, motion photography would mainly be edited (often extra footage would be shot and then would be cut together during editing - then the final would be spliced together, and a final copy made).
Splicing 😊
oh the memories. "Jackson 5 " was the best.
Michael Jackson had many video games for the Arcade and Old Consoles at the time and also appeared as a guest character in Ready rumble 2 and he was reference in Plants Vs Zombies as a dancing zombie but later changed due at the time the game was finished Michael had died.
Michael Jackson. #strangerinmoscow. #earthsong 🌹. 🌏🕊️🌏🕊️🌏💞
Great to see ya again
This song came out January 3rd 1983
Irina the video predates you back when the music came first then the video later. MJ’s videos were an art form. As far as what you described I think you simply mean FILM itself as a medium. Like the original video things were analogue in those days. No digital recording or internet and few people had computers as they were very expensive. A lot has changed since then except talent and beauty are timeless. Nobody knew back then a Russian ballerina would entertain many at their home or work. Спасибо большое.
I think she was talking about splicing film rolls to make a movie
Невероятно стильно)
Can't think of anyone else today that was as amazing as him dancing and singing and his type of style
True, he cannot be imitated.
Thanks for the reaction as always from me an my wife merry Christmas and happy holidays 🙂
👏👏
You should see Michael Jackson's video of Give it to me!
Billy Jean and was a lady in the 1970s she was a very successful tennis player and Michael did have a liking for her like many men did back then
40th anniversary of the release of this album.
I’m guessing she already tried stranger in Moscow lol guess I’ll have to jump over to the Patreon!

Hi, Billie Jean was releasedi n 1983 and its from the Thriller album.
Mike was the best hands down 🔥 great reaction 😉
Irina: if u danced to popular music, u would double your subscribers 🎉. Btw: this album was released in November 1982
Ah, month and year I was born.
Dance? Interesting 🤔
U could do any style u wanted but I’m sure your fans would love it
Nice
@RussianReaction&Reviews Yes...Moon walk and some other MJ moves. See if you can replicate his moves. That would be fun :)
Without any doubt he is still the greatest entertainer of all time. All the love from kerala ❤️❤️❤️
smooth criminal , stranger in moscow , dirty diana, remember the time , black or white , u rock my world , who is it , earth song , heal the world ,....
the roll of film from the camera when you first take it out is undeveloped . then you go through the developing process with chemical bath. I know the chemicals used but you can't have lights on unless they are special dim red lights that wont damage it. the developed film is called a negative. some photographers could probably explain it better. expensive and alot of work.
react to Beat It and especially Thriller. you will love the zombie dance
Gostei 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
"Billie Jean is not my lover
She's just a girl who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son". Search "Yo no me llamo Javier" from "Toreros Muertos", in lyrics is similar.
I have never seen this video before.
The original video had the legendary "Moon Walk" if I am remembering correctly, or was that just done in the concerts?
The man could out move anyone!
This is the official video clip , the moonwalk one was during Motown 25th anniversary .
What is your intro song?
Other Michael Jackson songs I’d love for you to listen to are: 1 Dirty Diana
2 Earth song
you should react to hin performing this song on the motown tribute show where he broke out the legendary moonwalk
MJ is alive in our hearts, minds & souls also I find it hard you’ve never listened to MJ before lol I call cap and MJ is bigger than anyone you’ve reacted to up until this point he’s Thee Greatest Human Being To Ever Walk This Earth other than Jesus Christ himself i definitely recommend you React to Michael Jackson “Billie Jean” Motown 25 Performance 4K it’s Legendary it brings this song up to another level and shows his showmanship and genius and how one of a kind he was/is and forever will be😇✍🏽👑💯
I'm not a simp but dam your eyes are like ice Berg's so beautiful and love the accent
Check out the Weird Al parody "Eat It"
Show 🇧🇷
Hey thin ankles, you should maybe react to Sade also another legend.
OMG your eyes are amazing I can't get over how gorgeous you are 😍
If you like that, one video like beat it from Michael Jackson
this and Thriller were the videos that made MTV show more black artists...the execs were like, "Hey, we gotta get in on this ..these people have got some great music-if we don't cash in, someone else's is gonna!" Before that, MTV was mainly rock videos. Watch M.J. as a kid with the family (Jackson 5, lots of utube vids) -you knew you're looking at a kid that's gonna be a superstar.
Fire 🙂
look up the video Thriller its a good video of michael
found the last person on earth who hasn't seen this vid 👀
Irina, the thing u r describing with your Russian word seems to be edit/editing
Great 🎅🤶
You talking about Film which is the thing in the Camera
The video (after being delayed) came out in 1983 - probably long before you were born! However, as one MJ song says, you are a PYT.
misheard lyrics: as a child, I always thought he was saying "people always told me, Big Jaffa was a Jew". I am English, so maybe I didn't get the nuanced American accent.
You should do a reaction video of
Guns N' Roses "Novemer Rain"...such an amazing music video!
BUFFALO BILL e jean
Whatttt 😂
The video was that he was the Midas man...everything he touches turns to gold...why the coin turned to gold in the jar etc.
You need to listen to smooth criminal beat it you rock my world black and white and thriller
React to Morphine by MJ
So I think the story goes a lady called Billie Jean was calling him the father of her child

More mj
Your talking about camera film. You use to take out the roll of film to get printed.
You have absolutely beautiful eyes.
Listen to thriller by Michael Jackson
its called film
Billie Jean is about a girl who claimed that one of Michael's brothers was the father of her child.
I heard Quincy Jones once describe Billie Jean as it was about a woman accusing MJ as the father of one of her twins.. 🤔
Thank you for pointing this out. MJ explained this many many times. People to this day still get it wrong.
