- Happy Monday! And happy first week of school to us! We start tomorrow, and I think we're all ready. :) Today I want to show you our homeschool routine/schedule for each day, and also our chore chart for the kids. I also did something for the first time, and that is to print up student planners for my 12 and 10 year old. I try to be flexible and patient as we get into a school routine again, but here are my best laid plans!

I know it is a bit late but instead of laminating, try a picture frame. Saves on the extra plastic having to laminate every time. You can get some great ones intended for art project displaying etc.
This was so helpful! How do you motive them to follow through with their chores? There is so much whining in our house right now but we are trying to stay strong!
I pray you have a blessed school year. You are so well organized! That is just awesome. If there's one chore I still can't stand at 32 years old is dishes!! I'm so happy we got a non-human electric dishwasher four years ago. Laundry I don't mind doing. One of my chores when I was a kid was taking out recycables.
Haha no dishwasher here! Someday hopefully, but for now, it’s all by hand 😁

I love to have a schedule as well and use the calendar system for our kids. They love checking and crossing out what they did, gives them a feeling of accomplishment!
We also introduce our kids to the kitchen very early and our two oldest (10,8) are cooking once a week, now independently and good food from scratch. I let them choose from a recipe book for kids (I believe young chefs is what it’s called).
I don’t really have a devotional suggestion as we have only girls that come close to that age but they read the „a girl after gods own heart“ devotional by Elizabeth George and I know that there is one written from her husband Jim for boys (a boy after god’s own heart). As said can’t tell as we didn’t read it but I can only guess it’s similar build as the girls one and we love it!

What is your plan when your kids get older and you hit a subject you’re not too familiar about? Like calculus or physics.

Do you use a form for their book reports or what do you expect them to do for the book reports? Looking for some hints on book reports. They are not a favorite in our household. Thanks
For the younger ones we do oral narrations, which are perfect for their age. I don’t have many expectations for book reports except that they have to write 4-5 sentences either on a summary of the book, or something they learned from it. 😊
Do u pay your children for chores? How long do u have them practice piano each day?
With all that is going on, when do you find time to prep for various lessons?
I try to choose curriculums that are mostly open and go, so I don’t have to spend much time at all prepping. 😊 I will look ahead in our books on the weekend, and get anything together that we will need, and that’s it!
