I have been a semi-pro potter for many years. I can honestly say this shape is definitely one of the most difficult to throw. I've done many bottles but none so graceful as this piece. I never thought of drying them out with a torch as I go along-that would definitely help keep them from collapsing, as mine did so many times-thanks for the tip! Great job!

They make throwing so much easier. I use both a blow torch and an electrical paint stripping gun. Mostly the electrical one as I have more control over it.

He battled with that twist in the belly for so long lol
    I understand the struggle
And I am so surprised that he didn't get any twisting in the neck, too easy to over work clay that thin.

Why did you - I guess? - “dry” it several times? Does that help with the scraper thing he uses afterward? Just curious. Great video and beautiful work!

Makes it less likely to collapse. The drier the clay is the less it can move.

The dryer clay is, the more able it is to support itself. As you widen the belly, it needs to be able to support itself.

This is so good. Uh no sorry, Outstanding. I got literally scared when you making that flared top. I thought it's gonna break. But it got shaped with such elegance and perfection. Loved it❤
