This series of lessons is one of the most awesome things you’ve done on UA-cam. Great work Rob
I’ve been watching your videos for years! Awesome content as always! Thank you!!!! Keep shredding!!!!
Thank you for breaking this down so simply for me. I love guitar, and have been playing for years, but I never understood what was going on with a lot of shredding - I know that sounds dumb, but it just isn't my wheelhouse. You made it appear to be somewhat accessible. While I certainly have to work on acceleration, and don't have the chops right now, here's hoping with time I'll start to get it!!!
This is a great video series Rob! Thank you for sharing it.
I absolutely love your lesson videos my friend! Wicked!
After a long time trying to get speed, I realized that my favorite types of solos don't have any shredding. Gilmour, Clapton, etc. Remarkably, as soon as I quit trying, I got a bit faster. At least enough to do quick intro licks. Thank you Rob. Great content. It's good to see you enjoying life again.
Awesome man thanks, great lesson that's right up my alley!
Absolutely brilliant. Love your teaching. I see progress so quickly, which inspires me to practice more
Another quality video, thanks Rob!
Sick video Rob! Thanks a lot for that it’s gonna be really helpful🔥
Thank you so much! It is because of people like you that I was not only inspired to pick up a Guitar but also having a bunch of great guitar teachers at my fingertips is truly inspiring!
🎸THANK YOU AGAIN🎸
Great video, awesome playing and LOVE the guitar!
U r so good at teaching!! Hella easy to follow u man I really appreciate U.
Extremely helpful Mr. Chappers as always really appreciate this videos
excellent lesson; thank you- plus, love your guitars!
Just have to say thanks for this tutorial. I have been playing for a bit and this is probably the most clear tutorial I have come across.
Cool licks Rob! Thank you for sharing. Best regards
This is a very helpful video. I always learn your vids than try and put something out of each right into my tunes as parts that become rehearsed at band practice. Especially the theory stuff. It then becomes a permanent part of my vocabulary which pushes my playing ahead. I went from just a blues scale thing to mostly using the Dorian. I am extremely grateful!!!
Cheers I love these little tips and exercises you do they really help fill in the gaps and aid my improvement 👽🎸😄
Well this is the type of quality Chapman videos I miss. Definitely have come a long way, and the classic tutorial lesson vibe I get from this is very welcoming. Glad I stuck around, hope all are staying safe and healthy!
Love it man! Thank you
Hi Rob! You Are a huge inspiration to me, i am trying to get my channel going And you helped me get through my first band And learn a lotta things. Thanks to you I made it to tv even this one commercial evening. Take care Brother.
This is the exact kind of content I wanted to see from your main channel Rob. Although I would love to see more of your excellent dynamic with Lee over at Anderton's, but I'd prefer that content to be kept on their channel. This is the kind of stuff you are great at mate!
Thanks Rob, really great lesson and loving that guitar! :)
Great lesson thanks Rob, I'm really enjoying getting stuck into learning the licks!
Awesome please post them :-)
With that guitar it could be also "how to Shrek".
Great stuff Rob. More please :)
Love the new studio/videos from malta!
The greater good! I really appreciated this reference :)
Sweet lesson Chappers 👍🏻 Hope you and family are settling in nicely in Malta I was there on holiday a few years ago and fell in love with the place A beautiful country with very kind and friendly people 🇮🇪
Thanks, Rob!
Love this guitar!
Thank you for this lesson. You are a great teacher. I was trying to focus on your left hand, but kept finding myself staring at that amazing looking guitar. Wow!
That is a beautiful guitar! Also brilliant lesson! 🤘
Great stuff Chappers 🤘🏻🤘🏻 🔥
I see Sahana. I see Rob instructional video. Reminder definitely on. (My Sahana coming in December. Xmas can't come fast enough. )
Nice touch with the dorje symbol on the 12th fret!
You teached very well! I'm new in the world of awesome shredness and was always wondering what you're doing when you play fast 😄 so thank you for this!
Greetings from Germany, Renée
Such a beautiful guitar. Can't take my eyes off.
Fingers flying😊👍love your playing😊👍mr Rob 👍good lesson
So helpful man!
This guitar on preview is so beautiful! 😍
I enjoyed this shred exercise
Love the way the camera shakes when you stomp the pedal, like the veritable Behemoth of Stompery that you are! Nice vid, thank you :)
one of the best lessons I have ever watched
Wow you play guitar like a boss! Great lessons.
Your a good teacher Robert. Not many will take the time to do it right. Guitarist also needs to know that it takes a lot of time to get fast and accurate. Patience
Hey rob,👍☀️i missed that Kind of exercises 🎸🎶🎛🎤🎧🎙📢🔊💻📹📸🎬📲🦧😉thanx &rockn rolly, chap 👍🎸!
Great lesson. Shredding is not my thing particularly but improving my technique is. I’ve been trying to learn Tom Misch’s ‘Lost in Paris’ main riff - definitely not metal - and then watching this vid I realised the hammer on pull offs were so similar. Your approach has really helped. Thanks.
Thank you! I watch you shred in wonderment, but this lesson made it seem a reachable goal. I did have a crack at the lesson on the classical guitar I had handy... will need to pick up the electric to really get into this.
Awesome, reminder on! Can you also make a tutorial on how not to be lazy? 😜 Cheers dude! 🥃
Love that guitar.
Rob, do you know how absolutely cool that guitar is? One knob, one pickup = jet engine exhaust blast! 🎸😎
Plus its purdy!
Rick Graham. Amazing playing.
OI, OI! Skinhead Rob! :D
Awesome looking and sounding guitar!!!!
Interestingly enough when played slow this has a very Adam Jones feel to it. Amazing stuff Monkey Lord.
That “ Rick Graham “ subtle flash 😎😎
Thanks Rob. I've been trying to learn to shred for about a year. This has helped so much. Also what is your opinion on short scale guitars?
I love you Rob !
That’ll keep me busy for the day,thx rob 👍🏽 oh and rick graham is your secret shred god 😎
Superb video I’m sweating bullets it’s so good
Awesome! I really like new chapman guitars! Black ml3 and ml3 bea are my favorite.👌But are they any versions with floyd and hot rod comming? If so, when? (sorry, I'm kinda being impatient😂). Hi from Slovenia!
Nice one 👍
Damn...that guitar looks amazing!
So proud !
Cheers sir....💞💯
(Watching from Nepal 🇳🇵)
Jay Sahana Guitar...🤟🤟🤟
Tom Quayle, legato master. Great lesson Rob, Thanks!
Thanks for the video, RG has been a reall positive influence on me as I'm sure most would agree.....theres other great shredders to add to your list that you said at the end that I just thought ide add to the pile purely to help spread this great therapeutic part of the guitar journey.....Tony Mcalpine,Michael Romeo and any Shrapnel records artists.....just digressing a tad, I really enjoyed your video with John Petruchi, what a thoroughly nice and grounded guy!...such effort and discipline he put in at a time way before the internet and as it was in its infancy. His forum long ago seems to have had a massive impact on people like yourself and RG...I was watching an early VHS release he did recently and the exercises are literally some of the most intimidating things I've seen!....and like RG John enjoys sharing his wealth of hard won knowledge of the instrument.great role models all of them.thanks again.
Tony Mcalpine was one of the first instrumental guitarists I heard, I was amazed by his playing/still am - absolute legend.
I’m like a pig in shit, my Saturday night sorted! Thanks Rob!
that second exercise is soooo Friedman, haha. love it.
Sick palm muted legato... Probably have to go Rick Graham on that.
Rick Graham is the king of all guitaring.
Alan Holdsworth was before him truly amazing
Ben Scott everytime i watch him play.. his hands are hardly moving and effortlessly but still sounds amazing.
That is a beautiful guitar
That guitar is siiiiick AF!
Oh, cool 😎 I get it now.
It’s the Green Neutrik into Green guitar - that’s the secret to shredding!
Premiers at 3am for me haha. Don't think I'll survive that long
Thanks so much, it's really cool to hear you play good guitar like you normally do
That guitars top's gorgeous
This was good Rob, thank u 😎
may I have another?
Sick guitar rob
Fuckin beautiful 😍
Sahana guitar!! 🤟
Guitar from NEPAL
Ibanez , ESO , Caparison and now Sahana. Asian built guitars are the best.
You can order it from sahana . com nepal if you want😉
Nepali Himalayan melody ❤️❤️❤️
I liked this
Fkn love it....
Rob, I believe your definition of "nice and easy" differs from mine😂. I've just shouted "feck it" at my little finger for the 20th time.
Hi Dean, just take it slow, isolate the area that is hard and drill it until you can do it while watching TV :-)
That guitar looks like The Mask. I like it!!
Bum! Missed it...just tuned in.
Hi Rob, My fretting fingers are slow for playing 8th and 16th notes in the context of phrases, melodies, licks, etc., not scales, when I am improvising or not. I‘d like my fretting fingers to play faster and I wish to control them better, being able in a conscious manner to select and to fret these notes quickly, and not relying only on muscle memory. Please, how can I improve the speed and the mental / muscular control of my fretting fingers in such a context? Would you consider a payment for the viewing of a video you may do about this topic? All work deserves a fair reward. Cheers, John
Hey i just purchased the lunar v2. It's a beautiful guitar but I'm getting a nasty fret buzz on the high E string 1st fret. What do I do?!?! I love the guitar would hate the have to return it.
Hello, please talk to the retailer from which you purchased this guitar, this is something that they need to resolve for you - they have a responsibility to make sure you are happy. If they don’t please email me directly at officialrobchappers@gmail.com
Watching from nepal
3:45 'a homogeneous, physical experience' yeah, the experience yeeting your guitar across the room when u can't shred😅.
(Jk i didn't yeet my guitar, I'm sleeping)
The short hair is working well for you. I wish the same were true for myself, lol. Cool axe, too. 8)
I can play solos all the way up to stuff like southern/hard rock but when shredding I tend to make a lot of string noise, any suggestions?
You need to focus on muting, I have a downloadable lesson coming out soon. Allied “Greetings” which would help
Rob who do you thinks better you or Basil as you call him The awesome Rabbea I think you’re both great
Rob I have a question and I really hope you will get to see it. When I start practicing heavily on hammeron/pulloffs my pinkie always starts to pulloff everything, even when I am just alternate picking :( How can I avoid this? It kinda ruins my technique and its super tough to recover from :(
Simple! Just go back to playing slower, control your little finger and gradually increase speed. Don’t do things on “Autopilot”
gRRRRRReetings
*T H U M P*
Love that third 👅
Digging the subliminal messages during the pause
Hey ole boy, I am frkn mesmerized by the latest ax!
My question is: when a star shreds live, is it improv or stuff they have written before?
Hi Rob, looking forward to this video. Have you considered filming any videos on shred improvisation/constructive noodling?
Just got through filming a two hour masterclass which will be available to purchase in about a month!
Vin Dhir noodling is the same as meandering, right?
Or catching catfish by hand 🤣🤣
Hi vin, see your still learning different ways to shred? same as me vin! That's why I'm here!!!!
Martin Pearson awesome. Yes, hopefully this video helps
While not a shredder my all time favorite guitar play comes from your side of the pond, Robin Trower. Great Blues/rock player complete with the proper Blues faces. Very important the Blues face is. LOL
👍
