Hi
You have a beautiful country.
don't be fool ! everything is radioactive there because of Chernobyl & test of nuclear weapons
@@vanadiumV Then the whole planet is radioactive, too...
@@Gybali Russians love to scare foreigners and each other. However, the samovar is clearly radioactive, so there is smoke.
Long live Russia 🇷🇺 I hope we can find peace brothers and sisters
This was super cool to see. I'm a fan of Russian literature and the samovar always gets mentioned. Now I know how they actually work, thank you!
You and Alex do the nicest things for your viewers. I'm enjoying the tea making. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing tea and the wonderful story of babushka traveling to get the samovar.
I wish you great success.
I have showed this video to my 5 years old grandson, who wanted to know what samovar is, and he enjoyed it very much.Thank you!
Thank you Valeria for showing the Samovar (my mother has told me about it, but I've never seen one).
Thank you Alex for the great assistence with making fire, cooking the tea and filming.
Thank you Sheffield for guarding the cookies. As far as I've seen, no cookies have bees stolen while producing this video. So, great job! :)
I'm reading Anna Karenina and the samovar was mentioned, thanks to your video I now understand how a traditional samovar works. Thanks!
Not only Russian. Also Kurds, Iraqi Arabs, Iranians, Kashmiris, Turks. I am pretty sure many others too. It’s funny how we all adopted similar practise into our culture. As a Kurd there is nothing better than a cold snowy night with Samawar along with walnuts and snacks and tales told by your grandmother. The best childhood memories. Slav to all my people alike.
Always wanted to know how to use a samovar. I plan on purchasing one as I love tea. Thanks lovey channel. From Houston, Texas.🤗🇨🇦🇯🇲Keep up the great education you offer us here in America. Many Russians back home in Toronto.
The only samovar I ever saw was at Madonna House, Combermere, Ontario, Canada -- a Catholic lay organization founded by Russian Baroness Catherine de Hueck Doherty along Tolstoyan lines. The Baroness was a very strong woman, like a peasant. Her father had been a diplomat, and they had to leave Russia at the time of the revolution. The samovar wasn't used for tea anymore, more of a large antique really. I had a Labrador dog too -- they are beuutiful pets! Thank you for sharing your time with us.
Thanks I love Russia . Wanna visit once and live forever.
I like this video with the music and the nature, very nice, spasiba
The opening music is excellent!!
Merci beaucoup pour toutes ces belles vidéos , merci merci , et toutes mes félicitations les plus sincères et amicales ,поздравления от Франции .
THANK YOU BOTH. I am English and I all way wondered how they worked but never asked before why ? . I don't know. But now I do. Thanks again. Keep doing what you do best at.
Lovely tea party... So nice. Thank you.
Russians love their flowers and tea. It is of interest to me that's why I am here. I want to learn how to do as I want to buy and use one.
I love your garden! Beautiful colors
Thank you for sharing your special times with your family. These times are precious and cannot be taken for granted. God bless you and your family.
Well know I can finally, imaginatively, illustrate how characters in classical Russian literature drink tea! In Tolstoy's novels everyone drinks tea.
This was such a fun video. I love to learn about how other nations eat, cook, worship, and just live their everyday lives. I have heard of Samovars before but never saw one in action. Thank you so much for bringing this to us! God Bless!!❤️
Thank you for revealing the secrets of the samovar. I am 51 and have lived all my life in Finland and Sweden but never bothered to find out...
Nice video. In Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan...the tea is brewed on top of the samovar. Also, thank you so much for defeating the Nazis. With love from America/the US.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Delightful!!! Thank you.
Very good to see tea made this way. Thank you from Canada
Valeria and Alex, we feel very special that you took the trouble to make a nice presentation to make tea for us.
Thank You - as always ...great videos! Spasibo!
Мы абсолютно любим ваш чай. Мы купим один из этих русских чайников. Замечательное!
This is so interesting! I am watching a Russian show called The Road to Calvary and there was a scene with a samovar. I wanted to see how they worked so I searched UA-cam and found your channel. They are so beautiful, I wish I owned one! Your garden is very lovely.
Lovely garden. Reminds me of my mother's garden. Spaciba.
Bravo Valeria! What a great story. Nice to see the true Russian tradition still live. Your video is like the pictures of childhood brought to life.
in China we like dried tea leaves too, tea bags are thought as being made by low quality waste while drying tea leaves..........
Haha yep. In our country, lipton twinning are really unpopular because it taste horrible and expensive as heck..while we usually have traditional tea leaves (usually jasmine tea and black tea in java, black tea, chai and spice/herbal tea in sumatra and borneo, in the east too), usually accompanied with sugar rock or brown sugar. Bagged tea often insulted as "cheap/ stickler/frugal tea", eventough our tea maker have very high quality bagged teas😂😂😂
Chai na - Чай на
Means ' here, tea' . Probably was biggest exporter back then.
Thank you for the wonderful video.
Great post.Thanks for sharing tea!
Thank Your for sharing this , it was a very delightful culturural experience and I love tea.
Thank you for the video about the samovar your content is very interesting-Thanks again.
That was so lovely. 💕
That was such a nice video. Great tradition. Thanks for sharing. God bless you 💕
I truly love a good cup of real tea that does not come in a bag. I too prefer the black teas. Greetings from the beautiful Oregon coast, USA. Wishing you many blessings.
Very beautiful and well-made video!
India love Russia very much love you Russian friends..
Beautiful video. I am at home, sick with a bad cold. I loved watching this as I found it very comforting. Also, seeing Sheffie helped me feel better. Many thanks and love to you all! 🍁🍂
I love your videos. I love being shown your country, your culture and way of life. Thank you for sharing.Sandi
This was a great video, you explained the Samovar very will, I like that you use your Granny’s Samovar!
This was great - thank you for making the video! Sheffield is super cute. I look forward to your videos. And that chocolate looked soooo good.
What a great story about the samovar. Thank you for sharing.
Now I must make tea also. Thank you for making this lovely video! My two Australian Shepherds act very much like Sheffield when tasty treats are on the table.
My family's dog used to stare at you, eventually you would feel guilty and give him the food item. :D
Thank you for sharing your afternoon with us, I really liked this video.
This was such a relaxing video and the music for it was perfect. I am happy that the rain did not come. Thank you Valeriya!
This video is magic. It is truly slowing down time.
You start to ask yourself: "what's all the hurry?"
@@wroblenadachu4566 exactly. All the life noise is distracting us from good way of living.
What a happy happy picture you have made. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful memory of the past. May you always have those wonderful memories come alive with each breath you take. I enjoy your videos very much.
Looks like Sheffy knows who is likely to give him a treat!
Dog is good.
Remember and respect the old ways.
Это просто бальзам для души! Дача, самовар, шишки для растопки... А мы свой самовар спалил несколько лет назад. Отвлеклись на какое то время и топка прогорела (((
Wow, this samovar is something!!!!
That russian tea looks so yummy 💓.
Oh, what a sweet little video....how lovely of you to share a little 'window' of your Russian life.....
Hallo, your garden is very pretty, the lake looks wonderful it is great u have ducks, where I live we have flocks of ducks also, what a lovely place to relax, thankyou for your videos
Thank you for sharing your traditions with us. I had never seen a samovar in use. You seem to be very good people, God's blessings for your family !
Wow you do a Great job on your Cannels
Very interesting, thank you Alex and Valeria.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to post this video. My friend received an antique samovar from her work and is giving it to me. We did not know what it was until I did so much research. I am so happy and hope to use it on a Sunday when my family is here. Now I will know how to use it because of your video. I will be sure to have good chocolates and Stroop Wafels to serve with my tea. Joyce from St Louis, Missouri USA
The flowers and.colors in your garden are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing information about Russian traditions with your viewers. Making tea is very interesting. I learn so much from your presentations. I love your channel.
You said "one spoonful for the kettle". We always put one spoonful for each person + 'one for the tea pot'.
It doesn't matter where you move to, the smoke always follows :)
Sorry to interrupt, We like to drink a little concentration of tea.
WOW! Fantastic video! I have always wondered how the Old Samovar works! Thanks, a fantastic and informative channel! :-)
I enjoy watching your videos!!!
We had Electric Samavar in our house that was on all day long! And like you said we put teapot on top of it.
Great video Val 👍🏼🤗
Such a lovely way of enjoying tea! Surrounded by beautiful flowers and a garden, just before evening. With the most wonderful of companions too- Alex and Sheffy.
This brings back memories. I lived in Russia for a while, teaching English at the US consulate in St Petersburg. It was always a treat to be invited to a dacha.
That's not strangest, that's most Amazingly heartwarming and most Beautifully served tea pot appart from japanese tradition!
THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR wonderful outing FABULOUS
I really enjoyed seeing how you made the tea! I am sure it tasted amazing. The flowers were very beautiful. Alex was very helpful, he seems like a very kind person. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for inviting us to join you for a cup of tea in the garden with your samovar on the table. Every home should have a samovar and it is nice when they are passed from one generation to the next. Thank you for sharing. ;-)
It is a shame that inherited items of this kind have largely gone from western family life. Today we live too much in a disposable throw-away world. And it's excellent that Alex and Valeria still use the Samovar, rather than it just sitting on a display shelf. 8) I will confess that I just use tea bags (Twinings Earl Grey), I think I'm too lazy to do otherwise. :}
I just bought an electric samover,to quit my coca cola addiction
Thank you, for the video.
Lovely video! Terrific way for a family to keep drinking tea through the day.
I love this music. Wonderful video
Да ,музыка что надо. Good soundwork!
This is charming video. As an American, I had not idea how a samovar actually worked.. Now I have a better idea. It was a pleasure to watch this. Thank you.
In old days servants prepared samovar outdoor and brought to dining room when boiled. Famous samovars from Tula are in European collections.
Your garden is beautiful! You did a great job accessorizing your garden fo us. Love the samavar. Enjoy your tea.
Thanks for the video, I've been wondering for *ages* how these things worked.
I'm Russian and I had no idea how it worked. Thank you for the video 🤗
Thank you for making effort to show how this is used, I have been curious about it for a long time and now I understand.
Your youtube videos regarding russia specially moscow and people lifestyl is funtastic and really enjoyable. Samovar is a new thing to me .But I have read about it in a story book in childhood. But in your video its fist time I can see it, very interesting thing. Also upload more videos of russian life style and about society.Russians are very good people.
With best regards

I like this very much; my ancestors are from the Soviet Union, my grandfather & grandmother escaped back in the 1960's, so I am third generation emigre. I always wondered how Samovar worked, many customs were lost in my Grandparents & Parents desires to be 'All American'.
I see they still sell new wood fired samovar's on Ebay in Turkey (I tried Russia Ebay, but they were all expensive antiques for the wood fired ones) as I desire to use one in the name of tradition that was lost to me. Thank you.
Black tea is the best....wish I were there to enjoy your tea...
Thank you for making this channel.
What a lovely video. I have a small ornamental samovar, a souvenir from Tolstoy's home, I believe. It is stamped in English " Made In The U.S.S.R. " Russian people are very hospitable and I think it would be lovely to drink tea and eat biscuits in such surroundings. God bless you !
I like the idea you use pine cones instead of charcoal. I would love to have a samovar but I'm by myself and my cat doesn't like tea! Большое спасибо!
i lovely day for a nice cup of tea in a traditional tea party in the garden nice
Thank you for showing me ( and the world) how this special tea making item works. I have to say I did always see them on tv etc and wondered. Now I know. Thanks for sharing.
Nice experience...hope my friends from St.Louis watched it...
Wow so lovely
Fantastic! That is a beautiful samovar! I have only seen one once. It was here in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at the farm of Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower. They were having a World War 2 memorial weekend and one of the groups was a Red Army reenactment group. They had a samovar on display with their equipment but they were not making tea so I didn't know how it worked.
You have to put the waffle on top of the cup for a short time to make it soft and warm, I enjoy your videos, Thank you.
I loved your Tea Party! What a special thing to do at the dacha. Thank you for filming this special event. I really enjoyed it.
That is a very nice samovar, looks like something of royalty. I do love to drink tea, but only black tea. I like it hot or cold, and I like Earl Grey tea very much. What a relaxing looking past time, thank you for sharing the story of the samovar.
Earl Grey is my favourite, but I add milk! :D I ran out once, terrible. Never again. Now I make sure I always have a good supply. Atm I have 20x 100bag boxes (Twinings). 8)
Wow, that is a lot of tea. I am jealous, I love to drink tea more than anything else. Unfortunately I like my tea sweet, unlike my coffee which I always drink black.
:D It's normally expensive, 5 UKP per box, but I only ever buy it when it's on special offer, usually half-price, then I buy as many boxes as are on the shelf. 8) I used to drink sweet tea, but that was a long time ago, eventually I stopped. Alas I've never taken to coffee; sometimes I don't mind the smell (though coffee shops are way too strong for me), but I've never liked the taste. My brother though likes all sorts of fancy coffees.
I have a large mug. Only thing better than a cup of tea is a BIG cup of tea. :D Well, that and *strong* tea; if it can disolve a spoon then it's about ready.
One time I asked my mother if she'd like a cup of tea, but I made her coffee instead, she was so confused, hehe. Funny how she was so expecting it to be tea, she didn't recognise it as coffee straight away. Our taste buds lie to use sometimes. That btw is why I stopped taking sugar in tea eventually, I found that without it, I could taste the tea better.
When I started university in 1987 I decided to be sensible and economical, so I bought a catering bag of 1000 teabags (ordinary Tetley, something I'd never have today, cheap stuff). It did last ages.
Another time after cycling 30 miles, I returned home and made a bucket of tea (medium size new/unused bucket); a dozen teabags, two kettles of water, loads of sugar (this was long ago) and a pint of milk. :D I sat in the lounge, tired but content.
Whenever I visit a castle, I buy a tea mug with a picture or logo of the castle if they have one. I have a shelf with 16 of them now.
Ahh, tea stories. I'm so British. :D
I also buy in bulk whenever I see a good deal, I have a lot of stock all over the house. lol I don't drink a lot of fancy coffee's but my wife does enjoy some of those every once in a while. I just like the regular Folgers or the Black Rifle Coffee blend that is an online shop.
Very wise! I just checked btw, I have 27 boxes of Earl Grey, not 20. :D Naturally, it's best to buy bulk for things that don't go off, so the other bulk items I have stored away are medium egg noodles (15 packets) and pot noodles (about a dozen, good for winter if the power goes out). Last week I saw jars of mango chutney half-price, so I bought six.
I enjoyed this video. The music is so appropriate to a tea party. I've seen the samavor before but didn't know how it worked. Must be so nice to have a hot cup of black tea in the cold.
Interesting posts
I was suprised about the dutch stroopwafels. greeting from Kerkrade Holland
Very nice video!
