10:03 Fun fact: older plants don't have deeper roots than younger ones. Saplings develop a taproot that grows downward to help anchor it and provide stability. More mature trees mainly develope horizontal root growth that allows to capture water and nutrients from a larger soil volume.

At first i was like, man, 18 minutes.....i don't know if i'll sit through the whole video.. but i did! You can tell the man has huge passion for the tea and was so informative! I'm a tea-drinker, but never gave it much thought, really, except for the fact that teas should be "steepped" at different temperatures.. :D Thank you Ian and Don! ^_^

THIS is the type of video I've been searching for! Everything else is saying like where to get the herbs and leaves from whatever supplier, how to blend, etc., but they never talked about this sort of creation and detail stuff that I've actually been looking for. Great video, very informative!👏👏

Wonderful sharing your passion about the most wonderful beverage called tea. A quick, there are 3 types of elevations of tea that impact tea- low grown "stronger tea", medium grown and high grown "lighter tea" we can blend these elevations for an amazing cup of tea!

What an incredible video! I thoroughly enjoyed this one Ian. I am a tea junky having grown up in Asia and being half Japanese...but I had no idea about many of the things he talked about in this video. I learned so much and it was so interesting. Side note, and I'm sorry if you addressed this already but I seem to hear an echo in some of your videos. I think it might only be when you have a guest on the show so could it be dual mics or something? Anyway, thank you as always Ian...this was a wonderful and informative video.

Don is quite knowledgeable… Only pity is that he didn’t mention dark tea when he’s talking about post fermentation tea. After all, it’s only 18m! Already a very good crash course for loose leaf tea (Gongfu or Kungfu tea)! Kudos

This video was so informative. I always preferred tea to other drinks, but I never understood why green tea leaves are so bitter to me. Water temp... go figure :)
Anyway, my preferred tea types are White and Oolong. I will try to find yellow tea - I never even heard of this variety.
